Balancing Control of a Two Wheeled Mobile Robot System (두 바퀴로 구동하는 이동로봇 시스템의 균형 제어)

  • This paper presents implementation and control of a two wheeled mobile robot system which consists of two systems, an inverted pendulum system and a mobile robot system. Control purpose is to regulate its balancing and navigation. The balancing robot has advantages of one point turning and robust balancing against disturbances from the ground. Simulation studies of local and global control methods are performed. Since the robot is implemented to have a symmetrical structure, simple linear control algorithms are used for balancing and navigation. Low cost sensors such as gyro and tilt sensor are fused together to detect the inclined angle. Experimental studies of following desired circular trajectory are conducted.

  • This paper presents balancing control of a two-wheel mobile robot (TWMR). TWMR is aimed to maintain balance while moving. Although TWMR can be controlled by linear controllers such as PD controller, time-delayed controller is employed for robustness. Performances of PD controllers and time-delayed controllers are compared. Especially, experimental studies on different acceleration estimation for the time-delayed controller are conducted. Performances by different acceleration estimations of the balancing angle, of the position, and of both angle and position are compared empirically.

  • PEM 연료전지에 있어서 수분의 균형이 연료전지의 시스템 성능에 현저한 영향을 미친다. 그래서 수분 균형은 가장 중요한 요소 중의 일부가 되었으며, 이에 관한 연구가 광범위하게 이루어지고 있다. 적절한 수분 균형을 유지하기 위해서는 적당한 멤브레인 수화작용(membrane hydration)이 필요하며, 반대로 촉매층(catalyst layer)에서의 익수(water flooding)현상이 없어져야 한다. 따라서 이와 같은 동적 상태에서 PEM 연료전지 내의 수분 균형을 유지하기 위해서는, 고도의 동적 수분 조정 기술이 확보되어야 한다. 현재의 연구는 이러한 특성을 고려하여 PEM 연료전지에서 동적부하 상태에서의 수분 이동에 관한 일차원 해석 모델에 관한 것이다. 금번 모델링의 결과, 양극촉매층(CCL, cathode catalystlayer)에서의 수분 상태는 거의 포화 단계에 이르고 있음을 보여주고 있으며, 이 모델링은 연료전지가 작동되는 동안의 CCL에 나타나는 수분의 양상을 예측하는데 활용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 수분 이동 모델이 국제규격에 따라 다양한 수송기관이 가동될 때, 동적부하 상태에서 서로 다른 차이점을 발견하기 위한 시뮬레이션 결과에 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 이 모델링을 적용한 결과, 수분 포화도가 상태에 따라 상이하게 나타남을 알 수 있었고, 또한 정적 수분 조절 요소에 따라 최적 상태가 모든 동적 분포에 따라 달라짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • 일상생활에서 건강을 유지하는데 적절한 체중을 표준체중이라고 한다. 식사를 잘 하게 되면 에너지 균형이 잘 이루어지게 되고, 그렇게 되면 체중이 적절하게 유지된다. 즉, 적절하게 체중이 유지되고 있으면 비교적 에너지의 균형이 잘 이루어지고 있는 것으로 판단할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 스마트폰을 이용하여 체중조절에 동기를 부여하고자 시스템을 설계하게 되었다. 어플리케이션의 각종 센서를 통해 아바타가 자신의 칼로리 수치만큼 같이 체중이 늘거나 줄기 때문에 손쉽게 자신의 상태를 판단할 수 있다.

Effects of Vision Control Balance Training on Balance and Muscle Activities of Stroke Patients (시각 통제 균형훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 및 근 활성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to examine effects of vision control balance training applied to stroke patients on their balance. 26 stroke patients, the subjects of this study, were divided into an affected side 1/2 vision control group (9), a non-affected side 1/2 vision control group (9), and a non-vision control group (8). After vision control standing on Posturo-med, all of the three groups received balance training 20 minutes four times per week for 8 weeks watching themselves 1M away from a mirror. To measure their balance abilities, measurements were made on their time of balance maintenance and muscle activity prior to the intervention, four 4 after the intervention, and 8 weeks after the intervention. Vision control balance training applied to stroke patients resulted in increase in their time of balance maintenance and significant improvement in vastus medialis muscle activity (p<0.05). This study result is that vision control balance training is considered an effective exercise method for balance training of stroke patients.

  • The constitution of traditional medicine is distinguished from modern medicine. Sasang medicine describe the constitution which is classified as functional intensity of the lung, spleen, liver and kidney. The functional strength of each part of the human body is not the same in each constitution, and this imbalance is considered as a major factor of the disease. Ayurveda is identified the balance of the three dosha in our body is the basis of health maintenance. The reason for the illness is due to the imbalance among vata which express energy metabolism, pitta which plays a role in metabolism and digestion, and kapha which controls body temperature. The two theories which include knowing the characteristics and trends of diseases according to their constitution, the approach of treatment and the health care of daily life. They are also considered as convergent area about treatment methods in the modern society where individual characteristics and lifestyle are emphasized. The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of constitutional basis for increasing patient satisfaction and to help diversity of treatment in preventive medical area by comparing and analyzing the theory of Sasang and Ayurveda.

Effects of Mental Practice on Balance Ability and Fall Efficacy in Dwelling Elderly Population: Single Subject Design (상상연습이 노인의 균형 능력과 낙상효능감에 미치는 영향 : 단일대상연구)

  • Objective : The aim of this study is to prove the effects of mental practice in balance ability of elderly population, and to investigate the possibility of application as an effective intervention method for fall prevention. Methods : This study provided mental practice to 3 subjects over 65 years old who have experienced fall, but do not have cognitive dysfunctions and independent in gait without any use of assistive devices from July to October, 2013. Within the individual case study, 4 sessions of initial baseline process (A), 5 sessions of mental practice (B), 4 sessions of re-initial baseline process (A') were proceeded using ABA design. Independent variable used mental practice for enhancing balance ability and fall efficacy in elderly population, and dependent variable were Berg Balance Scale (BBS) to find out the change in overall balance ability, Fall Efficacy Scale (FES) to see the change in fall efficacy, One-Leg Standing test(OLS), and Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) to determine the changes in both static and dynamic balance. Analysis of the results were provided via mean value and graph. Results : After the application of mental practice method, all of the subjects have shown increase in fall efficacy baseline values, and in addition, overall balance ability and both static and dynamic balances either increased or maintained. Conclusion : This study demonstrated that mental practice has positive effects on fall efficacy improvement and maintenance in elderly, thereby suggesting mental practice for fall prevention in elderly populations.

A Study on the University Satisfaction and College Life of Students Admitted through the Affirmative Action Program (기회균형 선발전형 학생들의 대학만족도와 대학생활에 대한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to find out the characteristics of H University's students admitted through affirmative action program. The differences between the affirmative action program enrollment students and all students were compared by descriptive statistics and correlation analysis methods. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted for students who entered the affirmative action program. A qualitative research method was used to analyze the contents of in-depth interviews. The results of the study are as follows. First, the higher the entrance score, the higher the university score for students in the affirmative action program. Second, the college satisfaction of students entering the affirmative action program is higher than that of students enrolled. Third, according to the results of the in-depth interview, the affirmative action program students were both active and not. In conclusion, it is necessary to establish a system in which students can actively prepare for their careers in universities. Accordingly, the expansion of the affirmative action program is likely to contribute to the development of universities.
