안전주입 및 정지냉각 배관의 LBB 적용을 위한 배관평가선도 개발

  • 원전 배관계통에 LBB를 적용하면 배관파단으로 인한 동적영향(dynamic effect)을 고려하지 않아도 되므로 각종 구조물의 설계가 단순해지고, 배관파단에 대비해 설치하였던 각종 지지구조물들을 제거할 수 있으므로 설계비용 절감 등 경제적 이점을 얻을 수 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 차세대원전 안전주입 및 정지냉각계통 배관에 대해 설계초기단계에서 LBB적용 여부를 판단할 수 있는 배관평가선도를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 배관재료의 응력-변형률곡선을 사용하여 감지가능한 균열길이를 산출하였으며, 3차원 유한요소해석과 배관재료의 파괴저항곡선을 이용한 균열안정성평가를 수행하여 배관평가선도를 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 배관평가선도를 배관설계초기단계에 사용하면 LBB적용여부로 인한 설계변경과정이 불필요하므로 전체공기를 단축할 수 있으며, 특정한 배관계통이 아닌 일반 배관계통에 적용할 수 있으므로 LBB해석회수를 상당히 줄일 수 있다.

  • The purpose of a fatigue crack arrest design is to prevent a fatigue fracture of machine and structure resulted from unstable crack growth. In all cases of load transfer to second elements such as stringers, doublers or flanges, crack arrest is possible; arrest occurring when the fatigue crack reaches the second element. In the present work, a numerical analysis was carried out to estimate the effect of shape parameters on fatigue crack growth and arrest behavior of integrally stiffened panels. Based on these results, a set of fatigue crack arrest design chart is presented as "non-dimensional arrest load - thickness ratio" relationship.

  • A brittle fracture is one of the source of structural damage and can bring a fatal accident. The inner shell of LNG storage tank should be designed and applied to construction by ensure that no brittle crack will occur under -162℃ condition. In point of view of fracture mechanics brittle fracture in the structure could be referred as crack initiation and crack arrest. It should be designed no crack initiation. However, in the unlikely event of a brittle fracture occurring, a back-up function of arresting the brittle crack should be included for the design. In this paper investigated the characteristics of 9% Ni steel thick plates of having a capability of arresting brittle cracks under the thickness of 33 mm, 37mm, 40 mm. First, charpy test has performed to evaluate the fundamental brittle impact fracture property of 9% Ni steel under the temperature of 24℃, -162℃ and -196℃. In addition, Duplex ESSO tests were also performed under -196℃ to evaluate the capability of crack arrest for 9% Ni steel. From the experiments results, it was confirmed that all the thickness of 9% Ni steel plates exhibits sufficient brittle crack arrest fracture toughness for the application of LNG storage tank as a inner shell.

  • To demonstrate the feasibility of utilizing FCAD chart proposed in our previous work, series of crack growth/arrest behavior in the integrally stiffened panels were simulated by numerical method using upper mentioned FCAD charts and a new crack growth rate equation. It is concluded that proposed family of FCAD curves, in the form of non-dimensional arrest load ranges, are reliable indicators of fatigue crack growth/arrest behavior of integrally stiffened panels considered here.

충격 및 폭발하중에 의한 동적파괴 해석기법

  • 본 논문에서는 균열이 존재하는 구조부재에 충격이나 폭발하중이 가해진 경우 동적응력확대계수를 구하는 방법들은 논의하고 특히 코오스틱 실험법 및 수치적으로 코오스틱 곡선을 구하여 동적응력확대계수를 구하는 과정을 자세히 설명하였다. 폭발 및 충격에 의한 구조물의 파괴해석은 이와 같은 하중을 받는 압력용기, 빌딩, 초고속선, 해군 함정 등의 파괴강도설계 및 안전성 평가에 핵심기술로 대두되고 있으며 또한 우주항공산업, 고속전철, 암반역학 등의 여러 분야에서 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 따라서 앞으로도 균열진전 및 정지조건, 탄소성 동적파괴해석 및 재료의 충격거동 등에 대한 연구들이 계속되어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

  • In order to assess the validity of fatigue crack arrest design charts obtained from our previous numerical approach to fatigue crack arrest condition, an extensive fatigue crack growth/arrest test was performed using CT-type integrally stiffened panels. The results are presented as fatigue crack growth rate and non-dimensional crack length relationship, and these are compared with numerically simulated crack growth rates. The measured values of da/dN at the moment of fatigue crack arrest occurred in stiffened panels are good agreement with those numerically simulated crack growth rates.

  • In order to decide critical vibration level on structural damages induced by near blasting, deformation of existing cracks in structure was investigated and ground vibrations were measured. New criteria to evaluate blasting damage to structure are proposed considering daily deformation of cracks in structures. Results from 2 brick houses in fishing village show that new design criteria far more than current are required to cause structural damage for brick houses.

  • One of the most important design procedures for large sized structures is the evaluation of fracture strength against fatigue and brittle fractures threatening to occur in their steel members. In this paper, the safety assessment based upon the knowledge about the fracturing characteristics of such ship structures was discussed, which can be estimated from such phenomena as fatigue crack propagation and brittle fractures, as obtained by employing fracture mechanics at the basic design stage. Model tests with a partial structure specimen of full size was carried out to authenticate a question as to whether or not the fracturing characteristics of such sophisticated structures could be estimated with precision from ordinary scale specimen tests, It was shown that the behviour of fatigue crack growth of large sized structures in this study could be predicted from the results of ordinary scale specimen test.

Influence of Inadequate Rebar Lap Position on Crack of Underground Box Slab (철근 겹침이음 위치 부적정이 지하박스 슬래브 균열 발생에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the experimental and analytical study were performed on the location of longitudinal cracks in the middle of underground box structures. The location where the longitudinal cracking occurred was investigated that the overlapping joint of the rebar and the section of maximum tensile stress generated. Using the finite element analysis, the strength reduction ratio of the rebar was estimated by lack of overlap joint length. As the result of adequacy investigation for the length of the overlap joint presented in the design criteria, it was analytically proved that the lack of the overlap joint length could be cause the decreasing cross-sectional force and concrete cracking. As the result of this study, the adequacy of the overlapping criterion in the current design criteria was confirmed based on the finite element analysis and actual field case. In the case of overlapping joints installed in inappropriate position, it was considered that a long term crack control would be need to ensure the sufficient safety factor for the designed cross-sectional force.

Investigation of Plugging and Wastage of Narrow Sodium Channels by Sodium and Carbon Dioxide Interaction (소듐과 이산화탄소 반응에 의한 소듐유로막힘 및 재료손상 현상 연구)

  • We investigated the physical/chemical phenomena that a slow loss of $CO_2$ inventory into sodium after the sodium-$CO_2$ boundary failure in printed circuit heat exchangers (PCHEs), which is considered for the supercritical $CO_2$ Brayton cycle power conversion system of a sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR). The first phenomenon is plugging inside narrow sodium channels by micro cracks and the other one is damage propagation referred to as wastage combined with the corrosion/erosion effect. Experimental results of plugging shows that sodium flow immediately stopped as $CO_2$ was injected through the nozzle at $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ in 3 mmID sodium channels, whereas sodium flow stopped about 60 min after $CO_2$ injection in 5 mmID sodium channels. These results imply that if pressure boundary of sodium-$CO_2$ fails a narrow sodium channel would be plugged by reaction products in a short time whereas a relatively wider sodium channel would be plugged with higher concentration of reaction products. Wastage by the erosion effect of $CO_2$ (200~250 bar) hardly occurred regardless of the kinds of materials (stainless steel 316, Inconel 600, and 9Cr-1Mo steel), temperature ($400{\sim}500^{\circ}C$), or the diameter of the $CO_2$ nozzle (0.2~0.8 mm). Velocities at the $CO_2$ nozzle were specified as Mach 0.4~0.7. Our experimental results are expected to be used for determining the design parameters of PCHEs for their safeties.
