  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) in accordance with the regulations with respect to the combustion gases, such as NOx, SOx generated by the marine engine. The combustion gases must be equipped with a device to reduce emissions from all ships passing through the Baltic SECAs. In Korea, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the development of a device for NOx, SOx reduction. Scrubber is used in the ammonia water and the Urea solution in the waste water. The waste water containing ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate, react of the NOx and SOx gas. In this study, the recovery of by-product, which contains the waste water was used as an organic solvent extraction method of salting out. Ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate, the recovery process. A qualitative analysis of the collected by-product FT-IR analysis. Through the elemental analysis and SEM-EDS, characteristic evaluation was performed with an impurity.

A Study on the Sterilization Effect of Ballast Water according to the Combination of Types of Treatment Apparatus (선박평형수 처리장치의 조합에 따른 살균효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to treat the ballast water by shear stress without an environmental pollution and to find out the optimal treatment conditions. The ballast water problem is issued up as the trade activated and the cargos mobilized. To improve this problem, International Marine Organization(IMO) make the rule about the ballast water treatment with specific restrictions. Although many countries have been studying about the ballast water treatment technology, there is almost no technology that can treat the microorganisms under $50{\mu}m$ without any secondary pollution. In this study, we tried to treat ballast water by applying shear stress as the physical treatment for the sterilization and tried to find out the optimal conditions including the 100% sterilizing rate and the best economic condition.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the overall structural relationship between the statutory provisions of nuclear energy legislation and to identify the coherence of the nuclear law system using social network analysis. In particular, we analyze the legal structure of the "Nuclear Safety Act", which plays a central role in nuclear safety regulation, to examine the key provisions in legal network structure of Nuclear Safety Act. Therefore, we found the structural problems of the nuclear legal system and suggest the legislative improvement plan for reducing excessive legislative activity and determining the need for legal amendments in nuclear safety management and regulation. This study is expected to provide a analytical framework for making legal system of further policy in other science and technology industries as well as nuclear energy related industries.

Statistical Optimization of Culture Conditions for Lactobacillus Strains using Response Surface Methodology (반응표면분석법을 이용한 Lactobacillus 균주 배양조건의 통계적 최적화)

  • The demand for probiotic products has been steadily increasing, and Lactobacillus strains are widely used and are currently the most popular probiotics. Optimizing culture conditions for Lactobacillus production for use as probiotics will enhance their profitability by reducing production costs and time. Statistical analysis using response surface methodology revealed the following optimal sets of independent variables: 22.55 h (cultivation time), 25℃ (cultivation temperature), and 3.41% (w/w, prebiotics concentration) for Lactobacillus acidophilus; 24 h, 30.86℃, and 2% (w/w) for Lactiplantibacillus plantarum; 66.67 h, 35℃, and 3.41% (w/w) for Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus. Actual outcomes using predicted optimal conditions for Lactobacillus strains have been confirmed to closely match predicted results. This study will provide valuable guidelines for high yield Lactobacillus production.

Appropriate Distribution Temperature for the Quality of Unwashed Eggs Inoculated with Salmonella Enteritidis onto Shells (Salmonella Enteritidis가 접종된 비세척 계란의 품질 유지를 위한 적절 유통온도)

  • This study aimed to assess the effect of temperature alterations on the preservation of egg quality and determine suitable temperature management practices for unwashed eggs contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis on their shells in an actual distribution environment. Unwashed eggs inoculated with Salmonella Enteritidis were stored for 7 d under six different conditions, constant temperature storage at 25℃ and five different temperature-changing storage conditions. For the temperature-changing conditions, the eggs were initially stored at 25℃, and then the temperature was changed to either 10 or 35℃. The indicators of egg quality, air cell height, weight loss, and specific gravity were preserved in the initial measurements when the storage temperature was lowered from 25 to 10℃ from day 3 to 4 after inoculation with Salmonella Enteritidis. In addition, the thick albumen ratio did not show significant alteration caused by the storage conditions when compared with that of fresh eggs. These findings indicate that lowering the storage temperature from 25 to 10℃ is appropriate for the safety management of unwashed eggs during actual distribution.

  • As the core infrastructure to lead technical innovation for the fourth industrial revolution, economic value and utilizations of radiowaves are increased rapidly. The objectives of this study are to recognize the growing trend of radio stations that transmit information using radiowaves, a limited resource of the country, and to propose developed plans for the radio stations operation system in line with the changing radio technology and use environment. To be specific, the detailed implementation procedures and methods of the system were derived in accordance with the government's plan to convert the complete inspection of radio stations into a SDoC(Self Declaration of Conformity) by the telco. SDoC is a policy that grants autonomy and responsibility for radio waves interference management to existing telecom operator recognized as having radio stations operating capabilities. It has significance in that the function of radio stations inspection, which is a representative technical regulation, is efficiently distributed to the government and the private sector. This study has significance in providing reference for expediting deregulation in the radiowaves management policy.

핵, 생ㆍ화학무기 및 미사일의 확산 제재: 최근 미국내 관련 법규 개요

  • 대량살상무기의 확산을 근본적으로 차단하기 위한 경제 제재의 활용은 1990년대에 들어서 새로운 차원으로 전개됨. 이전시기까지 제정된 법규들은 특정한 핵확산 활동에 관여한 국가들에 대한 외국원조의 중단을 요구하였으며, 해당 국가들이 관련 조약 및 국제협약상의 목표를 준수하게끔 하나의 가능한 메커니즘으로서 제재 방안들을 규정함. 1990년에 들어서서 미 의회는 미사일 확산에 관련되어 무역제재를 위한 명확한 지침을 입법화함. 1990년에 들어서 무기수출통제법(Arms Export Control Act)과 1979년 수출관리법 (Export Adminstration Act of 1979)에 미사일기술통제레짐의 부속서(MTCR Annex)에 등재된 품목이나 기술을 거래하는데 관여한 미국 시민 또는 외국인에 대해 미 대통령이 규제를 부과한다는 점이 필수사항으로 첨가됨. 이어서 미 의회는 광범위한 형태의 법률을 통해 생ㆍ화학무기 및 핵무기의 확산에 기여하는 국가들에 대해 경제제재를 가할 것을 입법화함. 본 보고서에서는 미국내 비확산 규정을 위반한 국가, 기업 또는 개인들에 대해 일종의 경제제재를 부과하는 것을 요구하거나 승인하는 법규들을 간략히 서술하고 있음. 다음에 열거하는 각각의 규정에는 제재 부과의 이유, 제재 기간에 관련된 정보를 포함하여, 미 대통령이 제재 부과를 연기, 중단 및 포기할 수 있는 권한의 구체적 내용들을 서술함.

차기 세계전파통신회의 WRC-15회의와 과학업무 관련 의제연구

  • 세계전파통신회의 (WRC; World Radiocommunication Conference)회의는 국제전기통신연합 (ITU)에서 규정하는 국제 전파법 제개정을 위해, 3-4년 간격으로 개최되는 전파통신 관련 최고회의라고 할 수 있다. WRC-15회의는 2015년 11월 2일 - 11월 27일에 걸쳐 스위스 제네바에서 개최될 예정이며, 과학업무 관련 의제들은 다음과 같다. 즉, 7145-7235 MHz 또는 7-8 GHz 대역의 지구탐사위성(지구대우주)업무의 1순위 분배연구, 지구탐사위성업무용 연속 600MHz 대역 분배방안 연구 (8,700~10,500MHz대역 내), 우주선 근거리통신용 관련 규정 재검토, 윤초삭제와 관련된 세계협정시(UTC) 개정 또는 대처방안 연구가 있다. 그리고 모바일광대역 응용 실현을 위한 이동통신업무 추가 분배 및 IMT 추가 지정 연구, 7150-7250MHz (우주대지구), 8400-8500MHz (지구대우주)에서 고정위성업무 추가 분배연구, 나노 위성 및 피코 위성 규제 관련 연구들이 있다. 따라서 본 발표에서는 WRC-15회의의 과학업무 의제들 가운데, 국내전파망원경 운용에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 주파수 대역 및 윤초 관리 등과 관련된 주요 과학업무 의제를 소개하고 이에 대한 향후 대응책 검토를 하고자 한다.

Analysis of Fulfillment Status on Environment·Landscape Damage Reduction and Disaster Prevention in Quarry Related to Mountainous Districts Management Act (산지관리법에 명시된 토석채취지의 환경·경관피해 및 재해저감 관련 법 조항의 이행실태 분석)

  • Quarrying industry is typical industry that troubled between the market and government regulations in the forestry. Especially, it is difficult to consider aspects of economics and environment, landscape, disaster at the same time. Therefore, Quarrying industry need revised statutes according to regulatory reform and mitigation. This study conducted to provide basic data for regulatory reform and mitigation in quarrying industry. We surveyed 22 article of mountainous districts management act and lower statutes to employers and business interests on quarry 55 places in the Republic of Korea. As a result, fulfillment status of environmental damage reduction and disaster prevention were satisfactory. But fulfillment status of landscape damage reduction were not applicable. This result is due to the social mood that emphasizes the forest landscape. But there is need to improve the efficiency of grit chamber through present standard on effluent(water pollution prevention). In conclusion, policies should be established for realistic regulation and developed industry to quarrying industry.

Total content characteristics of inorganic and organic substances from wastes from thermal processes (열처리 공정에서 발생하는 무기·유기물질류의 함량특성)

  • In this study, heavy metals, PCDD/PCDFs, PAHs in wastes generated from thermal processes were analyzed. Waste from lead thermal metalurgy (EWC 10 04) inorganic metal substances in the regulation were detected in the highest concentrations of Pb. EWC 10 04 seems to be a result of the dust. Waste from zinc thermal metalurgy (EWC 10 05) inorganic metal substances in the regulation were detected in high concentration of Zn. EWC 10 05 seems to be a result of the dust. Waste from copper thermal metalurgy (EWC 10 06) Cu in the 651,77 mg/kg to 651 times higher than regulation standard appeared in the copper thermal metallurgy process seems to be a result of dust. The concentrations of PCDD/PCDFs ranged from 0.0005~11.748 ng-TEQ/g in dust, 0.0027 ng-TEQ/g in fly ash. PCDD/PCDFs content was not detected in excessive value in regulation standard. PAHs concentration was in the range of ND~118.9 mg/kg in Naphthalene, ND~9.6 mg/kg in Phenanthrene, ND~48.4 mg/kg in Benzo[b]fluoranthene, ND~62.6 mg/kg in Benzo[a]pyrene, ND~10.7 mg/kg in Fluoranthene, ND~11.5 mg/kg in Benzo[a]anthracene.
