Smart Flying-Disc Monitoring System with IoT Technology (IoT 기술이 적용된 스마트 플라잉 디스크 모니터링 시스템 구축)

  • The flying-disc game has started since 1940. It has been spreading rapidly in Korea since 2007, mainly in elementary schools. Additionally, as sports science has been developed, research on flying discs has been continued to build a monitoring system for technological improvement and efficiency. In this paper, we acquire information on the user's flying-disc using 9-axis motion sensor and GPS. Then we propose a method for wireless transmission using Bluetooth 5.0. Specifically, the HW platform was designed and implemented not only to monitor a real-time data but also to compare and analyze rotational speed, flight trajectory, and a count of disc rotation through post-processing.

  • A microwave free electron laser which consists of Marx generator, vacuum diode, bifilar helical wiggler, and guide solenoid was designed and constructed. The analysis of the magnetic field distributions of the bifilar helical wiggler and computer simulation of electron trajectories with the perpendicular effect of space charges led to the conclusion that the magnetic field distributions are suitable for the electron beam injection.   • The flow mixing characteristics for the heated dual jets were numerically studied by using URANS (unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes). The increased turbulent diffusion was obtained for the compressible flow, and the thermal diffusion of incompressible flow increased more than that of compressible flow. From the results of FFT and phase portraits, periodic and quasi-periodic states were observed as the jet spacing increased. It was observed that linear variations of merging points and combined points were different because unsteady flow determined the flow mixing characteristics for a large jet spacing.

  • Landing site searching algorithms are developed for a quadrotor using a depth map in unknown environment. Guidance and control system of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) consists of a trajectory planner, a position and an attitude controller. Landing site is selected based on the information of the depth map which is acquired by a stereo vision sensor attached on the gimbal system pointing downwards. Flatness information is obtained by the maximum depth difference of a predefined depth map region, and the distance from the UAV is also considered. This study proposes three landing methods and compares their performance using various indices such as UAV travel distance, map accuracy, obstacle response time etc.

  • 휴머노이드 로봇 중 초상화를 그리는 로봇이 있지만 다양한 영상을 입력받아 명암 및 그림자까지 그림을 그리는 로봇은 흔하지 않다. 기존의 화가로봇들은 사용자의 얼굴을 영상으로 입력받아 윤곽선만 추출하여 그리는 방식으로, 입력된 영상으로부터 로봇 암을 제어하는 과정에서 제대로 동기화가 이뤄지지 못해 드로잉 속도가 느리고 원본 영상과 비교 시 차이가 많이 난다. 본 연구에서는 입력된 영상으로부터 명암과 그림자를 인식하여 표현해 줌으로써 입체감 있는 그림의 드로잉이 가능하다. 또한, 로봇 암의 미세한 컨트롤을 통해 드로잉 선 두께를 제어함으로써 자연스러운 그림을 그리고, 드로잉 속도가 향상되어 정확도를 높일 수 있게 하는 휴리스틱 암 제어 기술을 제안한다. 이를 구현하기 위해서는 영상으로부터 명암, 그림자의 농도에 따라 레벨을 결정하고, 레벨을 바탕으로 주변 명암 픽셀들을 평활화 하여 좌표 집합을 추출한다. 좌표 값들로 부터 유효 궤적을 분석하여 로봇 암이 이동할 경로를 추출하고, 효율적인 드로잉 기법을 통해 명암을 표현하여 드로잉하려 한다.

  • We formulated the convex optimization based minimum energy soft landing problem for reusable launch vehicles, and obtained the minimum time trajectory via the bisection search. In order to implement the the optimal guidance command and complete the flight control architectures on the soft landing stage, we designed the classical attitude control loops, and formulated and solved the optimal actuator allocation problem. The obtained soft landing guidance performance was analyzed via nonlinear 6-DOF simulation.

  • 현재 우리나라는 달탐사 개발 사업을 통하여 2022년 8월 발사를 목표로 달 궤도선인 KPLO와 과학임무 및 기술검증 임무를 수행하게 될 임무 탑재체, 임무 수행을 위한 각종 소프트웨어의 개발, 궤도/궤적의 설계 등 일련의 개발 과정을 순조롭게 수행하고 있다. 또한 달 궤도선인 KPLO와 이들 탑재체에 대한 운영과 관제를 수행하는 KPLO 심우주 지상국도 일정에 따라 개발 막바지에 접어들고 있다. 특히 KPLO 심우주 지상국에는 우리나라 대학과 정부출연연구소에 의해서 개발되는 과학탑재체 4기가 달 궤도에서 과학임무를 수행하여 얻게되는 달 탐사 과학자료, 즉, 과학임무자료를 달 탐사에 직접 참여하는 과학자들뿐만 아니라 일반인들도 교육 및 연구에 활용할 수 있도록 달 탐사 과학자료의 저장, 공개, 관리를 위한 Archive system인 KARI Planetary Data System(KPDS)도 함께 개발되고 있다. KPDS는 전문 연구자와 일반인들이 별도의 교육없이 인터넷을 통하여 쉽게 접속하여 KPLO의 과학탑재체가 획득한 달 탐사 과학자료를 검색하여 내려받아 사용할 수 있도록 서비스를 제공할 예정이다. 본 논문에서는 과학탑재체 개발기관 소속의 연구자가 달 탐사 과학자료에 대한 검보정 처리와 과학적 분석을 수행하기 위해서 텔레메트리 형태의 원본형태의 과학자료를 KPDS로부터 다운로드 받는 과정과 검보정 처리가 된 과학자료를 일반 사용자들이 내려 받아 사용할 수 있도록 과학자료가 공개되기까지 일련의 과정을 설명하고, 연구자 및 일반사용자가 직접 접하게 되는 KPDS의 주요한 사용자 환경에 대해서 설명한다.

The effects of strength training on the change of ground reaction force for the children with Down syndrome (근력 훈련이 다운증후군 아동의 지면반력의 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of strength training on the change of ground reaction force for the children with trisomy 21 Down syndrome. The subjects of this study were consisted of eight elementary school students with Down syndrome who participated in the strength training. The strength training was administered by six items such as squat, leg curl, leg extension, toe raise, sit-ups, and hyperextension. For strengthening muscle, each group also was treated by walking for 8 weeks, three times a week, 10-15RM, 3sets, which was based on the principle of progressive overload. For inquiring the effect of strength training, the ground reaction force variables were measured in two phases : before-training and 8 week-after training. The gait of each subject was acquisition using 2 AMTI force platforms set at 100 frequency. The results of this study were as follows: The pattern of vertical, antero-posterior and medio-lateral forces, trajectory of net COP and the timing ratio of reaching the each events were shown variously. So, it is not easy to explain these variables clearly. As the result of strength training, these variables were changed. However, the results of within subjects differ greatly, there was no difference statistically.

  • Multidimensional scaling (MDS) is a graphical technique of multivariate analysis to display dissimilarities among individuals into low-dimensional space. We often have two kinds of MDS which are metric MDS and non-metric MDS. Metric MDS can be applied to quantitative data; however, we need additional information about variables because it only shows relationships among individuals. Gower (1992) proposed a method that can represent variable information using trajectories of the pseudo-points for quantitative variables on the metric MDS space. We will call his method a 'replacement method'. However, the trajectory can not be represented even though metric MDS can be applied to binary data when we apply his method to binary data. Therefore, we propose a method to represent information of binary variables using pseudo-points called a 'partition method'. The proposed method partitions pseudo-points, accounting both the rate of zeroes and ones. Our metric MDS using the proposed partition method can show the relationship between individuals and variables for binary data.

Consideration of the Effect of Artifact during the Image Guided Radiation Therapy Using the Fiducial Marker (영상 유도 방사선치료 시 Fiducial Marker의 Artifact에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The effect of artifact was analyzed, which occurs from fiducial marker during the liver Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) using the fiducial marker. Materials and Methods: The size of artifact of fixed fiducial marker and length of mobile fiducial marker locus were measured using the On-Board Imager system (OBI) and CT simulator, and 2D-2D matching and 3D-3D matching were carried out, respectively, and at this time, the coordinates transition value of couch was analyzed. Results: The measurement of fixed fiducial marker artifact size indicated CT 4.90, 8.10, 12.90, 19.70 mm and OBI 5.60, 10.60, 14.70, 29.40 mm based on the reference CT slice thickness of 1.25, 2.50, 5.00, and 10.00 mm. Meanwhile, the measurement of mobile fiducial marker locus length indicated CT 42.00, 43.10, 46.50 mm, and OBI 43.40, 46.00, 49.30 mm. The coordinates transition of 1.00, 2.00, and 8.00 mm occurred between 2D-2D matching and 3D-3D matching. Conclusion: It was confirmed that the therapy error increased during IGRT due to the influence of artifact when CT slice thickness increased. Thus, it may be desirable to acquire the image less than 2.50 mm in slice thickness when IGRT is implemented using the fiducial marker.
