In this paper, we propose a new architecture of Self-Organizing Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks(SOFPNN) by means of genetically optimized fuzzy polynomial neuron(FPN) and discuss its comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of genetic optimization, especially genetic algorithms(GAs). The conventional SOFPNNs hinges on an extended Group Method of Data Handling(GMDH) and exploits a fixed fuzzy inference type in each FPN of the SOFPNN as well as considers a fixed number of input nodes located in each layer. The design procedure applied in the construction of each layer of a SOFPNN deals with its structural optimization involving the selection of preferred nodes (or FPNs) with specific local characteristics (such as the number of input variables, the order of the polynomial of the consequent part of fuzzy rules, a collection of the specific subset of input variables, and the number of membership function) and addresses specific aspects of parametric optimization. Therefore, the proposed SOFPNN gives rise to a structurally optimized structure and comes with a substantial level of flexibility in comparison to the one we encounter in conventional SOFPNNs. To evaluate the performance of the genetically optimized SOFPNN, the model is experimented with using two time series data(gas furnace and chaotic time series).

A spayed female, 8-year-old, maltese, weighing 1.84 kg with a history of acute severe vomiting, anorexia, depression for 2 day was referred. An abdominal mass was palpated with abdominal pain on physical examination. Radiographic findings included two soft tissue density masses in the mid-abdominal cavity and gas dilated colon. Ultrasonographs showed one heterogeneous hypoechoic round mass including intestinal wall. There were loss of normal wall layering and motility and absence of internal lumen of the intestinal wall. And another heterogeneous hyperechoic mass was identified to the medial side of the intestinal mass. Based on clinical signs, image findings, and the result of fine needle aspiration, intestinal obstruction due to alimentary lymphoma was diagnosed. On surgery, a cecal lymphoma and mesenteric lymphadenopathy were confirmed and the cecal mass was resected.

A neutered male, 8-year-old, Pekingese, weighing 4.3 kg with a history of anorexia, sneezing, nasal discharge, and epistaxis for one month was referred. Soft tissue swelling around the nasal bone and small defects of the hard palate with a tiny round dark red mass were found on physical examination. The laboratory tests represented mild leukocytosis. On skull radiographs, soft tissue swelling and osteolytic change of the incisor bone, nasal bone, and maxilla were found. On computed tomography scan images, there was soft tissue attenuating opacity with calcified spots in the bilateral nasal cavities and frontal sinuses. Loss of nasal turbinate pattern and nasal septum was found. And destruction of the insicor bone, nasal bone, maxilla, hard palate, perpendicular palatine bone, and cribriform plate were identified. Nasal malignant melanoma was confirmed by nasal biopsy.

This paper describes a new method of Genetic Algorithms for Adaptive Fuzzy Control System. Previous works using a Multi-population Genetic Algorithm have divided chromosome into two components, rule sets and membership functions. However, in this case bad rule sets disturb optimization in good rule sets and membership functions. A new method for a Multi population Genetic Algorithm suggests three components, good rule sets, bad rule sets, and membership functions. To show the effectiveness of this method, fuzzy controller is applied to a Truck Backing Problem. Results of the computer simulation show good adaptation of the proposed method.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the present status and problems of rural youth education, and to recommend desirable directions for improvement of rural youth education in Korea. The major findings of the study were: 1) programs of activities and financial supports for rural youth education were insufficient, 2) linkages of formal education with non-formal education were rather weak, 3) programs for humane characteristics and affective domain development were rare, and 4) opportunities for recreation and leisure, and career guidance were limited. For better rural youth education in the future, this study suggests; 1) the more programs should be made available for rural youths considering their developmental stages, 2) to strengthen the linkages between school education and non-formal education, 3) to give more opportunities for recreation and leisure, 4) to emphasize career guidance opportunities for the rural youths, 5) to develop programs for improving affective and character development, and 6) more governmental support should be given to empower rural youth educations.

The objectives of this study were to investigate the present of agricultural extension education implemented in agricultural colleges since 1993 and to explore the development directions for strengthening the agricultural extension education in Korea. The Advanced Agricultural Management Program (AAMP), College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Seoul National University is a rural adult education program for selected young farmers as a part of university extension education. The AAMP offers classes to farmers to improve their managerial skills in farming including high-technology agriculture, farm management, communication and information, and also offers various classes in the area of social, economic, and cultural affairs to improve leadership. Since the innovative AAMP started in March 1993 at the Seoul National University, 18 local national and private universities have adopted this model within six months to a year period. The AAMPs are integration of formal education with extension education, and expected develop understanding of the problems of rural areas and a strategic model for rural development. The programs are expected to contribute to develop human resources in agriculture and rural society, activate university extension, and lead the balanced development between urban and rural sectors in Korea.

For better predictions and classifications in customer recommendation, this study proposes an integrative model that efficiently combines the currently-in-use statistical and artificial intelligence models. In particular, by integrating the models such as Association Rule, Frequency Matrix, and Rule Induction, this study suggests an integrative prediction model. Integrated models consist of four models: ASFM model which combines Association Rule(A) and Frequency Matrix(B), ASRI model which combines Association Rule(A) and Rule Induction(C), FMRI model which combines Frequency Matrix(B) and Rule Induction(C), and ASFMRI model which combines Association Rule(A), Frequency Matrix(B), and Rule Induction(C). The data set for the tests is collected from a convenience store G, which is the number one in its brand in S. Korea. This data set contains sales information on customer transactions from September 1, 2005 to December 7, 2005. About 1,000 transactions are selected for a specific item. Using this data set. it suggests an integrated model predicting whether a customer buys or not buys a specific product for target marketing strategy. The performance of integrated model is compared with that of other models. The results from the experiments show that the performance of integrated model is superior to that of all other models such as Association Rule, Frequency Matrix, and Rule Induction.

In this paper, we propose a method that search the sweet spot of antenna beam, and keep it for fast speed transmission in millimeter wave on point-to-point link. We use TDD(Time Division Duplex) as transfer method, and it transfers the control data of antenna. The proposed method is the modified genetic algorithm which selects a superior initial group through slave-processing in order to resolve the local solution of genetic algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed method is verified by means of simulations with white Gaussian noise and not on point-to-point link.

IoT is network evolved one more step than Mobile or Internet based on the existing wire communication and can interconnect all people, things, and virtual space at any time, anywhere. In particular, Internet of Things technology is expected to be converged on medical service such as elderly home care, chronic disease management, and treatment, and then it also contributes to savings and service quality of in the medical field and leads the paradigm or innovation of healthcare industry. In this study, we analyzed the IoT technology and application cases of medical service based on the IoT at home and abroad.
