This study examined the bending performance of high strength and seismic purpose reinforcing bars experimentally with various parameters. For the experimental approach on the bending performance, the specimens were prepared with parameters, such as steel grades, diameters of reinforcing bars, and bending angles of reinforcing bars. Tensile strength tests on the reinforcing bars, the bending tests and re-bending tests, and the second tensile strength tests on the re-bended reinforcing bars were conducted. According to the test results on high strength and seismic purpose reinforcing bars, defects did not appear when the yield strength of the reinforcing bar was 500 MPa or less and the diameter was D13 or less, even when the first bending process was performed with a $135^{\circ}$ bending angle and a $2d_b$ inner radius. The bending performance decreased asthe strength and diameter of the reinforcing bars was increased. In addition, there was no significant difference between the general reinforcing bars and seismic purpose-reinforcing bars.
In order to optimize the design of unidirectional fiber reinforced composite C-rings, a viscoelastic load relaxation behavior was analyzed under a point load. Initially, the deflection and bending stiffness were calculated based on the elastic beam theory and the viscoelastic relaxation and creep behaviors were derived from the elastic solution using the correspondence theorem. Besides the orthotropic mechanical properties of the composite, asymmetric mechanical property due to the different tensile and compressive properties were also considered. Except the deviation affected by the relatively large thickness of the specimen compared to the radius, the calculated relaxation showed good agreement with the experimental result.

Bending work using press dies involves bending a flat blank to a desired angle. The bending produces a flange (the bent part) and a web (the unbent part). The bending line will have a bending angle, and there is an inner and outer bending radius. The minimum inner radius size is determined by the material used. When the inner radius size is too small, there will be excess metal welding, which will cause a crack in the outer radius part. The outer bending radius size cannot be controlled by a bending punch and die block. Types of bending include V-bending, U-bending, O-bending, edge bending, twist bending, and crimping. Z-bending involves two bending lines, which are set on the upper side and under surface of the blank, respectively, and upward or downward bending is used. Z-bending is also called crank bending. Z-bending using this type of die structure will produce a standard inner bending radius. The standard size is the minimum bending radius that represents the angle radius of the bending punch. In industry, there is a need for a sharp edge shape with a very small size (R=0.2mm), but that is not possible when using bending punch and die block. The purpose of this research is to meet the need by development.
This paper presents the fabrication and 3-point flexion testing of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite face/aluminum honeycomb core sandwich panels. Specimen sandwich panels were fabricated with three honeycomb types (3.18 mm, 4.76 mm, and 6.35 mm cell size) and three panel radii (flat, r = 1.6 m, r = 1.3 m). The curved sandwiches were fabricated normally with the core in the W-direction. The tensile mechanical properties of the CFRP $2{\times}2$ twill fabric face laminate were evaluated (modulus, strength, Poisson's ratio). The measured values are comparable to other CFRP fabric laminates. The flat sandwich 3-point flexion test core shear strength results were 11-30% lower than the manufacturer published data; the test set-up used may be the cause. With a limited sample size, the 1.3 meter panel curvature appeared to cause a 0.8-3.8% reduction in ultimate core shear strength compared to a flat panel.
In the construction of high-rise buildings, bent re-bars are manually straightened to connect slabs to core-walls, which are usually cast before floor structures. During cold bending and straightening of re-bars, plastic deformation causing work hardening, Bauschinger effect and aging hardening is unavoidable. Tensile tests of coldly bent and straightened re-bars were conducted with test parameters of grade, diameter, and bend radius of re-bars as well as age between bending and straightening. Test results showed that proportional limits were lower and strain hardening occurred without yield plateaus. Inside and outside of re-bars with compression and tension deformations, respectively, during bending showed lower yield points due to Bauschinger effect and no yield plateaus due to work hardening, respectively. When re-bar grade was higher, yield point became significantly lower where Grade 400 re-bars had yield strengths lower than specified yield strength of 400 MPa. Because the surface of re-bar has higher strength than the core of re-bar, Bauschinger effect was more obvious for higher-grade re-bars. When age between bending and straightening was greater, yield strength increased and elongation decreased (i.e. embrittlement occurs). Using measured data, stress-strain relationship for straightened re-bars was developed based on Ramberg-Osgood model, which can be used to evaluate stiffness of joints when straightened re-bars are applied.

In this study rotating bending fatigue tests have been carried out with the deep non-through radial holed notch specimens of low carbon steels(SM 22C). It is investigated that the behaviors of surface and interior fatigue crack propagation and the variations of the shape of the cracked surface on the magnitude of bending stresses. The Obtained results are summarized as follows. (1) The relations between [Crack length] and [Cycle ratio] are expressed by following eq. in the 0.1~0.6 range of N/ $N_{f}$ long[ crack length] = A + B [N/ $N_{f}$ ] In case of surface crack length, values of A and B are uniformed independent upon the magnitude of bending stress, but those are variable according to the magnitude of bending stress for interior crack length. (2) The following eq. is derived on the surface crack propagation rate, bending stress and surface crack length. (dl/dN)=(3.94*10$^{-12}$ ).sigma.$^{4.54}$l (3) Under small stress, interior crack propagation rate increase with the interior crack growth but it decrease for large stress. (4) The shape of cracked surface depends upon the magnitude of bending stress. Under small stress fatigue crack propagates as an semi-ellipse with semi-major axis of surface crack length with semi-major axis of interior crack length for large stress.s.
In this paper, after studying structural performance for the representative corrugated steel plate used in Korea, we proposed the optimum shape for section of corrugated steel plate considering a width of steel plates that can be produced currently in the factory. Using AISI(1986) in examination for the performance of the corrugated steel plate, we determined the mechanical limit of the optimum sections considering shear force and bending moment of corrugated steel plate and also determined the geometric limit of them considering formability, shapes and ratio between width of steel plate before forming and that after forming. As a result of examination for performance of steel plate applying algorithm for searching optimal sections algorithm developed in this study to the existing representative corrugated steel plate, allowable force and moment of inertia indicated the maximum values at bending radius 76mm and internal bending angle $50^{\circ}$. And as an application result of the optimum design system that used SS490 with 1,550mm of width and 4,700mm of length considering current production situation in Korea, we developed the new section with more than 2 times of structural performance comparing with existing corrugated steel plate.
