  • To overcome the limitations of current evaluation procedures for floor vibration under crowd loading, two kinds of uncertainties associated with individual time lag differences and the complex behavior of crowd should be taken into account. The complex behavior of crowds has yet to be fully described, even though individual differences can be dealt with statistically. This paper proposes time lag considered (TLC) crowd model based on a probabilistic approach. The load reduction factor, which reflects the effect of a general degree of synchronization among crowd, is proposed. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations were carried out to determine various crowd behaviors by using the TLC crowd model proposed. The TLC crowd model can rationally treat the energy loss of various crowd patterns. This indicates that it may be used as a theoretical basis in refining dynamic load factor of crowd loading.

  • The possibility that an asymptotic coronavirus-19 infected person around the world is not aware of his infection and can spread it to people around him is still a very important issue in that the public is not free from anxiety and fear over the spread of the epidemic. In this paper, the K-means clustering algorithm and deep learning-based crowd aggregation were proposed to determine the possibility of contact with confirmed cases of infectious diseases. As a result of 300 iterations of all input learning images, the PSNR value was 21.51, and the final MAE value for the entire data set was 67.984. This means the average absolute error between observations and the average absolute error of fewer than 4,000 people in each CCTV scene, including the calculation of the distance and infection rate from the confirmed patient and the surrounding persons, the net group of potential patient movements, and the prediction of the infection rate.

  • The analysis of Richards eq. requires data of the soil water retention function and the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity. The soil water retention function was measured through the use of the developed apparatus and the saturated hydraulic conductivity was measured by the constant head method for each soil sample corresponding to the A, B, C types of SCS. In order to obtain one water retention function and one unsaturated hydraulic conductivity which represent each soil group, van Genuchten's eq. and Mualem's pore-structure model was chosen respectively. Parameters of van Genuchten's eq. are estimated for each soil group using data obtained in the experiments, and estimated values give a basis to analyze the unsaturated flow in the non-measured region efficiently.

  • Modern structrues are being built using high-strength and light-weight construction materials resulting in decreased structural mass and damping properties. Rhythmic activities such as jumping, dancing and clapping during lively concerts can produce excessive vibration of steel structures. In this study, dynamic load factors that occur during lively concerts were presented through vibration test and real-time monitoring of an existing concert hall. The vibration test included modal analysis and jumping test according to the forcing frequencies and the number of participants. Dynamic load foactors were acquired directly from peak acceleration responses of each harmonics. Comparing NBCC 1995, the 3rd harmonic must be included in the design of concert halls. Dynamic load factors must be increased as a result of the vibration test.

  • Targeting 9 types of rocks, which have high frequency of excavation, the researcher has analyzed decreasing behaviors of elastic modulus due to water content. The elastic modulus decreasing behaviors have been classified into 5 steps by uniaxial compressive strength. The results indicate that all of 5 sedimentary rocks and andesite show single decreasing behavior and granite, rhyolite, and gneiss demonstrate another decreasing behavior. Moreover, sensitivity of water content in granite, rhyolite, gneiss is almost twice as fast as that of the other rocks and their residual value of elastic modulus is very low.

  • The feature extraction mechanism of the CASA(Computational Auditory Scene Analysis) system uses time continuity and frequency channel similarity to compose a correlogram of auditory elements. In segmentation, we compose a binary mask by using cross-correlation function, mask 1(speech) has the same periodicity and synchronization. However, when there is delay between autocorrelation signals with the same periodicity, it is determined as a speech, which is considered to be a drawback. In this paper, we proposed an algorithm to improve discrimination of channel similarity using Weighted Cross-correlation in segmentation. We conducted experiments to evaluate the speech segregation performance of the CASA system in background noise(siren, machine, white, car, crowd) environments by changing SNR 5dB and 0dB. In this paper, we compared the proposed algorithm to the conventional algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been improved as following: improvement of 2.75dB at SNR 5dB and 4.84dB at SNR 0dB for background noise environment.

  • Estimation of the presence of people in real time is extremely useful for businesses in providing better services. Many companies and researchers have attempted various researches in order to count the number of floating population in a specific space. Recently, as part of smart cities and digital twins, commercialization of measuring floating populations using Wi-Fi signals has become active in the public and private sectors. In this paper we present a method of estimating the floating population based on MAC-address values collected from smartphones. By distinguishing Real MAC-address and Random MAC-address values, we compare the estimated number of smartphone devices and the actual number of people caught on CCTV screens to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method. And it appeared to have a similar correlation between the two datas. As a result, we present a method of estimating the floating population based on analyzing Wi-Fi Probe Requests.

  • This study was conducted to investigate a seasonal variation of phytoplankton communities at 6 stations in the Hantan River from November, 2001 to August, 2002. Electric conductivity gradually increased from the upper reaches to the down reaches. DO differed not much from the upper reaches to down reaches, but it decreased at the station where the pollutants inflowed. T-N and T-P concentrations were high at station 4${\sim}$6. Chlorophyll-a concentration gradually increased at the mid and down reaches. It was high in May but decreased in August by the heavy rains. Phytoplankton communities were identified a total 354 taxa composed of 99 genus, 320species, 19 varieties, 3 forma and 12 unidentified species. There were 135 taxa of Chlorophyceae, 134 taxa of Bacillariophyceae, and the other taxa were Euglenophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Xanthophycaea, Chrysophyceae and Dinophyceae. Standing crops ranged from 8,600 to 337,100 cells/mL and it was lower in August than May by the rains. Dominant species included Achnanthes alteragracillima, Achnanthes convergens, Achnanthes minutissima and Cymbella minuta var. silesiaca which were the saproxenous species at the reaches, and were Cyclotella meneghiniana, Chlamydomonas pseudopertyi and Nitzschia which were saprophilous and eutrophic species at the down reaches. The correlation coefficients between phytoplankton standing crops and EC, BOD and T-N, T-P was 0.68, 0.60, 0.60 and 0.70, respectively. All correlation coefficients between Chlorophyceae and EC, BOD and T-P were higher than 0.6. A. convergens were negative correlations with EC and BOD, but N. palea were positive with EC, BOD, T-N and T-P.
