  • 사회경제구조의 변화에 따라 여성의 사회참여가 크게 증가되는 추세이다. 가정주부의 취업여부에 따른 식생활 양상을 파악하기 위해 2001 국민건강ㆍ영양조사-영양조사부문의 결과를 심층 분석하였다. 2001 국민건강ㆍ영양조사는 2001년 11월 1일부터 12월 31일까지 전국 200개 지역에서 약 4,000가구, 14,000명을 대상으로 실시되었으며, 본 연구에서는 전업주부가정의 3,482명과 취업주부가정의 2,731명의 가족에 대한 식품 및 영양소 섭취량 자료가 분석에 활용되었다.(중략)

An Empirical Analysis of Effects of Depression on Suicidal Ideation of Korean Adults: Emphasis on 2008~2012 KNHANES Dataset (국내성인에 있어서 우울증이 자살생각에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구: 국민건강영양조사 2008~2012 자료를 중심으로)

  • Suicidal ideation has received much attention from both practitioners and researchers as Korean society becomes aging and individualistic. However, previous researches on the suicide ideation have focused on young generations instead of adults who seem to be more suffered from economic pressure and all kinds of exterior environments causing depression. Besides, there were research voids in the suicidal ideation area where depression was never taken into consideration. In this sense, we attempted to launch empirical studies on analyzing explanatory factors relevant to suicidal ideation in all the age groups by using KNHANES dataset from 2008~2012 years. Especially, we further analyzed KNHANES dataset to know how much depression affects suicidal ideation. Empirical results showed that depression is in a significant relationship with the suicidal ideation in all the demographic dimensions such as age, education, living area, etc.

  • 조사연구에서 조사대상의 모집단을 대표할 수 있는 표본을 추출하는 것은 조사결과를 그 모집단에 일반화시키기 위해 서는 필수적이다. 국민건강영양조사에서는 확률표출방법을 이용하여 우리나라 국민의 영양실태에 관해 대표성 있는 정보를 얻고 있는 반면, 개개인의 연구자가 일부 지역 주민을 대상으로 하는 소규모의 영양조사에서는 과학적인 표출방법을 이용하여 표본을 추출하는 것이 매우 어렵기 때문에 대부분의 경우 자원자를 대상으로 하거나 임의로 표본을 선정하는 실정이다.(중략)

Key Foods selection using data from the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018) (제7기 국민건강영양조사 (2016-2018) 자료를 활용한 한국인의 주요 식품 (Key Foods) 선정에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: Key Foods refers to foods that have a high contribution in the nutrient intake of individuals, and exert important effects on their health. This study was undertaken to identify Korean Key Foods, using data from the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHNES). Methods: The data source for the extraction of Key Foods was the 24-hour dietary survey data obtained from the 7th KNHNES (2016-2018), and 21,271 subjects were evaluated. A total of 17 nutrients were selected as the key nutrients for identifying the Key Foods, including energy, carbohydrates, protein, lipid, dietary fiber, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin C, cholesterol, and sugars. The nutrient consumption approach was applied to generate a list of potential Key Foods. Foods included in 85% of the cumulative intake contribution from one or more key nutrients, were subsequently selected as Key Foods. Results: Of the 1,728 foods consumed by survey respondents, we extracted 728 Key Foods. These Key Foods explained 94% key nutrient intakes of the subjects. Based on the contribution rate to key nutrient intake, the top 10 Key Foods identified were multigrain rice (5.32%), plain white rice (4.23%), milk (3.3%), cabbage kimchi (2.82%), grilled pork belly (1.56%), apples (1.52%), fried eggs (1.49%), cereal (1.36%), instant coffee mix (1.21%), and sweet potatoes (1.12%). These 10 foods accounted for 23.93% total key nutrient intake of the survey respondents. Conclusion: Seven hundred and twenty-eight foods were extracted and identified as the 2020 Korean Key Foods. These Key Foods can be considered the priority foods to be analyzed for establishing a national nutrient database.

Development of dietary behavior items available in Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (국민건강영양조사에 활용 가능한 식생활 조사항목 개발 및 유용성 검증)

  • Purpose: Given that the indicators related to chronic diseases are important to evaluating goals of the national health policy, the aim of this study was to develop dietary behavior items available in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Methods: The dietary behavior items were developed based on the literature reviews, need assessment of the field, expert focus-group interviews, and expert advisory meeting. Questions for each dietary behavior item were developed by reflecting on environmental, personal, and behavior factors of the ecological frame and then revised through expert focus-group interview and expert advisory meeting. The understanding and reliability of the developed questionnaire were assessed by cognitive interview and test-retest reliability. Results: The developed items were sodium and salt intake, added and simple sugar intake, enough time to consume a meal for all ages, caffeine drinks and fresh/healthy food intake for children and adolescents, and limited dietary intake, fresh/healthy food intake for seniors. In most questions except some questions on sodium and salt intake, subjects understood over 70% and consistency of responses based on the kappa values was acceptable. Conclusion: Developed dietary behavior items are expected to be useful for evidence-based nutrition policy, interventions and research targeting dietary patterns through investigating and monitoring dietary behavior patterns.

Comparison of quality of life and related factors according to hearing impairment in elders using the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018) (청력저하 여부에 따른 노인의 삶의 질 관련 요인: 국민건강영양조사 자료(2016-2018년) 분석)

  • The Purpose of this paper was to explore the effect of hearing impairment on HRQOL in Korean elders. We carry out a cross-sectional analysis using nationally representative data from the KNHANES, 2016-2018. The survey was conducted on 4,754 elders who responded to questions about hearing impairment. Quality of life was compared between hearing impaired elders and elders with no hearing impairment using the t-test and chi-square test, and factors related to quality of life were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression using SPSS version 22.0. There was significant difference in quality of life between hearing impaired elders and elders with no hearing impairment. Walking exercise were identified as factors related to quality of life in elders with hearing impairment, while marriage status, walking exercise and limited movement were found to be related to quality of life among elders with no hearing impairment. In order to improve the HRQOL of elders with hearing impairment, multidisciplinary efforts and development of educational programs are required.
