Suggestions for improvement of domestic Digital Cultural Heritage from the analysis of EPOCH project (EPOCH 프로젝트를 바탕으로 한 국내 디지털 문화유산 발전방향의 제안)

  • As digital cultural heritages have been applied to various fields, more systematic research on the domestic digital cultural heritage need to be improved. The EPOCH project by European Union contributed to standardization of ICT+CH domain, creation of network between different organization, and study of socio-economic impact of digital cultural heritage. We can find a way to improve domestic digital cultural heritage projects by analyzing EPOCH project in each management technique culture view. Based on these analysis this paper suggests the necessity to establish an independent research domain for digital cultural heritage, investment in heritage sites by private companies, and research to fit better with the user's need, and study on business administration in digital cultural heritages.

  • This paper deals with whether it is possible to find a way to solve the conflict between villagers and tourists by newly defining the difference between free village and public tourist destinations in Korea, reinforce the insufficient guidance and notification services with realistic media, and implement additional killing contents and attractions. Location-based service enables real-time docent service and emergency response and smart glass thread.

A study on the production techniques and prototype of the mother-of-pearl chrysanthemum pattern box from the Goryeo Dynasty (고려 나전국화넝쿨무늬상자의 제작기법 고찰 및 원형 연구)

  • The chrysanthemum vine pattern box from the Goryeo Dynasty expresses in great detail the representative features of Goryeo Dynasty lacquerware with mother-of-pearl, such as engraving patterns on the surface of fine mother-of-pearl, expressing vine stems using metal wires, and twisting metal wires to form the boundaries of each patterns. While the lacquerware with mother-of-pearl that remains today from the Goryeo Dynasty has the form of a sutra box and a box with lid, the chrysanthemum vine pattern box that is the subject of this study is in the shape of a box with a separate lid and body, making it difficult to estimate the purpose of production or the stored contents. In this study, we attempted to confirm the formative characteristics of the chrysanthemum vine pattern box in order to confirm its original form, and to investigate its structure and production technique through X-ray transmission. In addition, we attempted to identify the use and production purpose of the box by classifying and comparing the previously known lacquerware with mother-ofpearl from the Goryeo Dynasty by type. As a result of the investigation, fabric was confirmed the bottom of body and inner box through X-ray images. Through this, it was confirmed that the 'Mogsimjeopichilgi'(wooden core grabbing fabric technique) of wrapping the object with fabric was used. And through wood grain, it was possible to confirm the wooden board composition of the part presumed to be the restored part and the part presumed to have had existing Jangseog. In addition, it was confirmed that the joints were connected in a Majdaeim(part to part). Based on the survey results, a total of 14 pieces, including 9 Sutra boxes, 3 boxes, and 2 small boxes, that remain from the Goryeo Dynasty were classified by type and examined for similarity. Among them, there is a "Chrysanthemum Vine Pattern Sutra Box" from a private collection in Japan, a "Black Lacquered Chrysanthemum Arabesque Bun Sutra Box" from the Tokugawa Art Museum, a "Sutra Holder" from the British Museum, and a "Small Box with a Mother-of-Pearl Chrysanthemum Vine Pattern" from a private collection in Korea. The pattern composition of five points was most similar to the subject of this study. As a result of comparing the damage pattern, formative characteristics, and structural features of each part, it is presumed that the sutra holder in the British Museum was transformed into its current form from the original the chrysanthemum vine patterned box. Lastly, in order to confirm the purpose of production, that is, the use of this box, we investigated examples of Tripitaka Koreana printed version produced at a time similar to the social atmosphere of Goryeo at the time. Following the Mongol(元) invasion after the Goryeo military regime at the time, sutras appeared to pray for the stability of the nation and the soul of an individual, and with the development of domestic printing and paper in the 13th century, it gradually coincided with the transition from a scroll to a folded form, and the form of a box changed from a box. It is believed that the storage method also changed.

  • 위에서 언급한 바와 같이 계측대상 연약 지반이 대심도, 광역화함에 따라 연약지반 계측의 전반적인 추세는 자동계측 시스템의 사용과 준설ㆍ매립공사 또는 해수면상에서의 공사 특성상 케이블 관리의 어려움을 극복하고자 무선데이터 전송방식의 사용이다. 또한 유지관리의 필요성 증대로 인하여 계측 모니터링, 자동분석 프로그램의 기술도 발전되고 있다. 그러나 아직 국내는 계측에 대한 기술 개발이 미비할 뿐 아니라 계측기술에 대한 인식이 매우 부족하고, 관련법이 정비되지 못하여 계측관련 기술 및 경험이 전무한 영세업체들까지 난립하여 치열한 경쟁을 하는 관계로 기술개발에 대한 투자는 거의 중단된 상태이다. 따라서 정확한 유지관리 계측을 위해서는 대부분 외산기기에 의존할 수밖에 없는 상황이다. 그러나, 현재 국내의 전자통신 기술의 수준을 감안할 때 관련법이 정비되고 체계적인 연구와 투자가 이루어진다면 쉽게 세계적인 수준으로 도약할 수 있으리라 판단된다. 한국지반공학회의 연약지반위원회에서는 2003년 8월 20일 한양대학교 박물관 강당에서 학술세미나를 개최하였다. 본격적인 세미나에 앞서 '연약지반 공학자의 당면문제 및 해결방안'에 관한 주제로 전 연약지반위원회 위원장이셨던 (주)에스코 컨설턴트의 김승렬박사께서 초청강연을 하여 주셨다. 김승렬박사께서는 그 원고의 꼬리말을 다음과 같이 기술하며 마무리하셨다. 국내 연약지반 기술수준의 상황과 우리의 위상을 제고하기 위한 좋은 말씀으로 생각되어 본고에서는 그 부분을 인용하는 것으로 끝을 맺고자 한다. '우리나라의 연약지반 기술수준은 동남아시아 지역의 국가들인 싱가포르, 대만, 태국, 심지어는 베트남에 비해 결코 우월한 위치에 있지 않다. 오히려 많이 낙후되었다고 할 수 있다. 경제규모와 위상과 발전상태에 비추어 보면 실로 부끄러운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 이렇게 된 배경에는 연약지반이 사회의 문제로 대두되는 일이 미미하여 이 분야에 쓸리는 관심이 상대적으로 적은 점이 주원인이라고 볼 수 있다. 연약지반이 기술현장에서 문제로 떠오르기 시작한지도 째 오랜 시간이 경과하였다. 이제 더 이상 우리의 기술수준을 이대로 방치할 수는 없는 시점에 와 있는 것이다. 연약지반에 몸담고 있는 우리 스스로가 위상을 지키려는 노력을 배가하여야 한다. 연약지반 공학자들은 스스로 고급의 데이터를 생산하고 평가하고 예측하는 기법을 활발하게 적용하고 발전시킴으로써 자신들의 위치를 지켜야 할 것이다. Clean-handed-research만을 고집하는 환상에서 깨어나 국외의 변모하는 모습을 빠르게 수용하고 국내의 연약지반 관련 자료를 국외에 널리 알릴 수 있는 위치로 발돋움할 때 연약지반 공학자의 위상도 제고될 것이다.'

A Study on the Effect of the Changes in Temporary Exhibition Spaces of Korea's National and Public Museums on the Overall Space Structure of Museum - With Reference to Syntactic Relationship between the Most Integrated Space and Exhibition Space - (국내 국.공립 박물관 기획전시공간의 변화가 전체공간구조에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 뮤지엄내 위상 중심공간과 기획전시실공간의 관계를 중심으로 -)

  • Since a private museums started in Europe 17C, many private museums established for high-class people like aristocrats to collect and to keep art works and to appreciate for limited members. After the French Revolution in 18C, the publicity became an important social issue through all European regions, and the museum gradually changed into public ones. Like that, as the concept of museum changed, its social role as well as its function was also changed. The concept of collection and display or preservation changed into the concept of exhibition and appreciation featuring the publicity. With the year-round exhibition, a classical concept, the planned-exhibition, a new active concept set as an important factor for a museum's projects. The latter concept embraces new social issues. Therefore as the space for planned-exhibitions reflecting social issues every season was needed, a museum sets its planned-exhibition space with the changeability, and gradually expands this kind of space in size. It is expected that planned-exhibition spaces characterized as the changeability may give some changes on the flow of a museum's overall space, and may have substantial influences on the flow. To recognize the changes in a planned-exhibition space's influence on the museum, this study selected some national, public museums having the planned-exhibition space, and investigated their influences on each museum's overall space structure through the analysis on space syntax. This study assumed the change of planned-exhibition space as the changes in the number of convex spaces, and measured it. And to understand the planned-exhibition's changes on a museum's overall spaces, such changed assumed as the numeric changes in convex spaces and measured them. In addition, the numeric changes's influence on the overall space structure was analyzed by measuring the overall space's average integration level. Through the above two factors, the 3 research methodologies and analyzed results were drawn out.

조선과 일본의 자명종과 시각제도

  • 17세기 이후 조선과 일본은 서로 다른 시각법을 사용하였다. 일본의 경우 서양의 자명종을 받아 들여 12시(時) 100각법(刻法)의 부정시법을 기초로 한 일식시계(和時計)인 자명종을 제작 발전시켰다. 이러한 자명종의 제작기술이 조선에 유입되었지만 조선과 일본의 시각법의 차이로 인해 정확한 기계시계임에도 불구하고 널리 보급되지 못했다. 현재 한국의 대표적인 자명종 유물은 고려대학교 박물관과 서울대학교 박물관에 소장되어 있다. 고려대학교 자명종의 경우 12시 96각법을 기준으로 하여 자명종 전면에 원형으로 12시와 1시진(時辰)에 8각(현행 1시간당 4각)으로 각인되어 있고, 그 밑 부분에 "구(九)", "팔(八)", "칠(七)", "육(六)", "오(五)", "사(四)"가 2회 반복하여 각인되어 있다. 타종장치는 파손되어 있고 구조와 형태로 봤을 때 일정한 시간에 한번 종을 치는 일정천부방식(一挺天符方式, Foliout) 자명종이다. 서울대학교 자명종은 시반에 12시와 숫자만 표기되어 있다. 이 자명종은 "구(九)", "팔(八)", "칠(七)", "육(六)", "오(五)", "사(四)"의 숫자 표기가 고려대학교 자명종과 일본 자명종 유물과는 다르게 반대의 방향으로 표기되어 있다. 이 자명종의 타종장치는 정해진 시각에 해당 시각만큼 타종하는 장치가 달린 이정천부방식(二挺天符方式) 자명종 형식이다. 서울대학교 자명종의 경우 일부 부품이 유실되고 개조된 것으로 보이며, 야간용 천부(天符)와 알람장치가 유실된 상태이다. 이는 일본의 부정시법 자명종을 조선의 정시법로 사용하기 위해서 개조한 것으로 여겨진다. 수차례에 걸친 국내와 일본의 학술조사를 수행하여 당시의 조선과 일본의 시각법에 대한 비교조사와 유물 및 문헌을 통해서 두 자명종의 구동방식을 알게 되었다. 또한 일본의 자명종 제작 기술 발달 과정과 비교하여 두 자명종의 제작시기 등을 추정하였다. 아울러 두 자명종의 파손된 부분에 대한 구조를 연구하여 기계적 작동원리에 대한 개념도를 제시하고자 한다.

  • Museum storage has been a unique area for experts, such as curators and managers etc., is a part that requires attention among the recent changes in museums because of changes to a type that is being opened gradually to visitors. On the other hand, there is an increased the risk of a fire according to negligence etc. of visitors. Hence, appropriate measures for a fire protection system to respond to varying museum storage are required. This study examined the status of fire protection systems applied to museum storage visiting 40 domestic public museums with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and a direction to install a fire protection system was presented by drawing cases of fire protection systems with less adaptability or poor management or excellent fire protection systems, and a direction for improvement was presented.

Preference Factors of the Korean MZ Generation vis-à-vis the Online Programs of Museums Abroad (비대면 시대 해외 뮤지엄의 온라인 프로그램에 대한 한국 MZ 세대의 선호요인 연구)

  • This study aims to analyze the preference factors of the Korean MZ generation with regards to the online programs developed by museums abroad during the COVID-19 pandemic. World renown museums such as the British Museum, the National Gallery of London, Van Gogh Museum, J. Paul Getty Museum, Hasting Contemporary, Uffizi Gallery, and the Guggenheim Museum tackled the social-distancing situation with various creative online programs and events to continue their role as socially relevant institutions. Ten acclaimed programs conducted by these museums were shown to the Korean MZ generation, the most digitally savvy and frequent visitors to museums, to extract their responses to the various types of programs. The study showed that the Korean MZ generation prefer online programs which most closely reflect the onsite experience of a museum, and online contents with educational elements.

A Study on the Spatial Structure Analysis of history museum using the Complex System (행위자기반 모형 분석이론에 따른 과학관 공간구성에 대한 연구)

  • Currently, as we enter the 21st century, the level and interest of society, culture, economy, and science are rapidly developing, but science education is still struggling. In order to increase the efficiency of science education, it is most important to focus on elementary education based on basic science. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the main causes of Korea's science museum's regression as a museum focusing on experience, interest, and fun such as simple science experience centers and science theme parks. To this end, the influencing factors were identified by applying the algorithm of the actor-based model based on the data on the exhibition space and the exhibition movement of the science museum completed and operated in Korea over the past 5 years, and the problem of the visitor movement in the exhibition space was analyzed through the space system. In this study, it was confirmed that the exhibition environment was the best when the linear plot movement system and the picalesque plot were applied simultaneously in the museum's exhibition narrative theory, and the arrangement of major exhibition spaces, width of exhibition spaces, and separation of spaces for exhibition purposes were derived.

The Publicity of the Museum under the Untact Situation (비대면 상황에서 미술관의 공공성에 대한 논의)

  • Under quarantine policies related to the Coronavirus, museums have closed or started limited operations. Currently, museums are trying to adapt to the untact situation, while maintaining the museum's original function and communicating with visitors through online platforms. This paper first analyzes the operation status of domestic and foreign museums under untact situations and the operation status of online platforms. In order to reconsider the publicity of the museum, the definition of the museum by ICOM and Hannah Arendt's concept of publicity should be examined. Through this, the importance of the function of public art museums in forming democratic discourse and awakening community could be developed. To this end, first, public forum to discuss the quarantine policy of museums should be developed. Second, local and central governments should support museums financially. Finally, the online platforms of the museum should be more activated. Despite the untact situation of the museum, the publicity of art museums must be addressed in order to discuss the community's difficulties democratically.
