This study was started to not only resolve structural problems such as lack of contents, an unstable structure of earnings, and reduction of an additional market in Korean film industry through revitalizing digital cinema, but also make digital cinema become a power for growing Korean film industry furthermore. In the section of revitalizing digital cinema production, I suggest that expanding an audience base of low budget art cinema using digital technology will contribute to diversity film contents, and joint production with broadcasters by digital technology will expedite growing film industry as well as revitalizing digital cinema production. In the section of revitalizing digital cinema distribution, I insist, we should make effort positively to build reasonable hold-back and so on in order that film industry's positive participation in the market of digital film distribution and new media such as DMB or IP-TV may become an additional market to film industry. In conclusion, we can gain a foothold to leap toward a Position of cultural technology Power through efforts to resolve problems inherent in digital cinema.

다양성은 문화산업의 기반을 풍부하게 해주는 중요한 요소이다. 다양성영화는 비주류, 다문화, 소수, 마니아 적인 성격을 가지고있는 예술영화, 다큐멘터리, 독립영화를 포괄하는 개념이다. 이러한 개념을 바탕으로 하는 다양성영화는 지역의 다양한 소재를 활용하고 다양한 의견을 포괄할 수 있어서 문화적인 풍부함을 이룰 수 있게 하는 근간이 된다. 이 글에서는 다양성영화가 문화산업의 기반 구조를 충실히 하는 중요한 매개가 될 수 있음을 보이고 이를 고찰하였다.

이 연구는 코엔 형제 영화의 열린 결말이 작품의 주제와 어떻게 연관되는지, 그리고 그러한 열린 방식으로 내러티브를 종결시킬 수 있게 하는 서사 논리가 무엇인지 논의한다. <바톤 핑크>(1991), <노인을 위한 나라는 없다>(2007), <시리어스 맨>(2009) 등 코엔 형제의 열린 결말 영화들은 모두 '불확실성'에 관한 영화이다. 이 불확실성은 부조리하고 아이러니컬한 세상의 불가해성과 그것에 대한 캐릭터의 이해 불능으로 나타난다. 코엔 형제의 영화들은 바로 이러한 세계의 불가해성에 대한 논증의 내러티브이며, 이들의 열린 결말은 플롯과 논증의 중층 구조에서 스토리 문제의 해결이 아니라 논증의 완결을 추구한 결과이다.

The purpose of this research is to identify the different determinants according to the types of motion pictures; art film and commercial film. We found that the regression equations of two types of motions pictures are structurally different. More specifically, we identified that the number of screens, viewers' evaluation, and genres have a significant relationship with the performance of motion pictures both in the commercial and art film. However, director, ratings, critics, power of agency, nationality, and the timing of release affect the performance of motion pictures just on the art films.

Asura: The City of Madness, which was released in 2017, attracted great attention even prior to its release with the combination of Director Kim Sung-su, and actors, Jung Woo-sung, Hwang Jung-min, Ju Ji-hoon and Kwak Do-won. Faithful to its genre as a crime film of film noir, Asura: The City of Madness created multi-layered issues by the overthrow of the archetypal hero character and variation of the heroic narrative structure drew diverse interpretations among both critics and viewers alike. This study aims at analyzing the heroic narrative structure of Asura: The City of Madness based on Christopher Vogler's "The Hero's Journey" and examining how the universality and typicality of narrative structures as mentioned by Vogler are applied to this film. Although the universal and typical characteristics of all narrative structures cannot be analyzed through Christopher Vogler's The Hero's Journey, five atypical characteristics could be derived from this film that deviate from the universality mentioned by Christopher Vogler by looking at the characteristics of the heroic narrative structure implemented as Han Do-kyung, the leading character and a "hero," proceeds through the 12 stages. This study examines which variations such atypical characteristics brought to the heroic narrative structures in crime films what has changed in audiences' expectations, and how it could work as an alternate narrative.

This research studies the specific cases of Ryusuke Hamaguchi's re-arrangement of the original novel Net emo Samite mo(2010) by Tomoka Shibasaki to his 2018 film Asako I&II. The study focuses on the difference that has been made between the original novel and the film, which occurred after Ryusuke adapted the novel's "Telling" to the film's "Showing." The presence of the passive protagonist and the repetitions are the elements that have been avoided from the traditional Screenwriting theory for a long. Instead of avoiding it, Ryusuke Hamaguchi inherits these traits of the original novel when re-arranging to his film. Despite the presence of a passive protagonist, Hamaguchi's method of adaption increases the attention of the audience by using the other tools of Hollywood's tradition: the use of goal and want of the protagonist. In addition, Hamaguchi's storytelling strategy captivates both the modern cinema audiences and the classical film audiences by creating a story, which both repetitive structure and normative narrative structure were applied.

Semiotic theory plays a vital role in the cognition of realistic films. Realistic films aim to reflect events and situations in real life, and arouse the audience's thinking about real problems through realistic depiction. In this process, the theory of semiotics helps to reveal the symbolic elements in the film and the profound meaning behind them. This study focused on the realism movie 도 가 니 "(Silenced), on the basis of the theory of saussure's semiotics, combined with its proposed the concept of "signifier" and "mean", through the study of arbitrariness and secondary film symbol sign system, designed to dig deeper into the symbolic meanings in the movie, and their cultural significance and social evaluation. By analyzing the implied narrative structure, meaning structure and ideology in the film, this paper probes into the influence and effect of mass culture on society and reveals the potential information conveyed by symbols in the film. This study aims to provide creative insights and explanations to provide useful references for research in related fields.

트레일러는 2분 내외의 짧은 시간 동안 관객에게 영화의 장점을 소개하여 영화를 소비하게 하는 일종의 영화 광고이다. 인터넷 보급과 스트리밍 기술의 발달은 비교적 용량이 작은 트레일러의 소비를 확산시켰다. 전에 비해 관객이 트레일러를 접하게 되는 경우가 많아지고 있으며, 이로 인해 트레일러 또한 작품 흥행에 영향을 끼치는 중요한 요소로 인식되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 트레일러에 대한 수요 증가와 마케팅에서의 중요성 증가에 맞춰 사례 연구를 통해 효과적인 트레일러 스토리텔링 구조에 대해 분석하였다. 먼저, 영화의 메타정보, 캐릭터, 배경, 사건, 분위기, 기술력 등의 애니메이션 스토리텔링의 주요 요소를 도출하고 몬스터 주식회사(Monster Inc., 2001), 니모를 찾아서(Finding Nemo, 2003), 인크레더블(The Incredibles, 2004) 등 픽사 애니메이션 3가지 사례에서 이들 요소가 등장하는 시점과 비중을 분석함으로써 스토리텔링의 전체적인 구조를 파악하는 사례 연구를 수행하였다.

For this reason, a novel and movie are open at the same time, In this paper, we analyze through the case study of three fantasy films having the narrative structure of the germane myth : The Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, The Chronicles Of Narnia based on the analysis basis : Hero's Journey 12 steps by J. Campbell, The analysis of scenes of each film visualizing the narrative structure of a novel can be used as the basic materials in the process of visualizing the scale of the original and message of a writer, we consequently believe that these analysis will be able to be applied the appropriate visual techniques (the special effect, the scene tractions, and etc.)in visualization of films.
