Development of an Algorithm for Regulation of Inlet Blood Flow in Electrohydraulic Left Ventricular Assist Device Using Fuzzy Logic (퍼지로직을 이용한 전기유압식 좌심실 보조장치의 유입혈류량 조절 알고리즘의 개발)

  • 전기 유압식 좌심실 보조장치에서 모터 전류 파형을 정보로 하여 작동기의 이완기 속도를 조절함으로써 좌심방으로부터 유입되는 혈류량을 조절하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 좌심실 보조장치(Left Ventricular Assist Device, LVAD)는 허혈성 심장질환 등으로 좌심실 의 혈액 박출 기능이 저하된 환자에게 시술하여 정상 상태의 심박출량을 유지할 수 있도록 하는 보조 혈액 박출 기능이이다. 전기 유압식 좌심실 보조장치에서는 혈액의 유입이 능동 적으로 이루어지므로, 좌심방 함몰로 인한 심근 손상 및 외부 공기 유입으로 인한 색전증을 방지하기 위해 유입혈류량을 현재 좌심방내의 상태에 따라 적절히 조절해 주어야 한다. 좌 심방 내의 혈액량 정도는 혈액을 유입해 내는 작동기의 이완기 동작 시에 소모되는 에너지 크기에 반영되고, 작동기를 구동하는 모터에 들어가는 전류의 크기는 작동기에 공급되는 에 너지에 비례하므로, 이전류 파형의 정보들을 통해 좌심방내의 상태를 추정해 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지로직을 적용하여 모터 전류 파형의 정보들을 통해 좌심방 내의 상태를 추정 해 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지로직을 적용하여 모터 전류 파형의 이상 유무를 판단한 뒤 에에 따라 작동기의 이완기 속도를 조절하는 알고리즘을 개발하여 모의순환장치 실험을 통해 그 실효성을 검증한 결과를 정리하였다.

  • A measurement unit and signal processing algorithm have been developed for predicting arterial oxygen saturation noninvasively. The measurement set-up was composed of a probe including light source and photodetector, optical signal processing section, LED driving circuit, PC interface software for data acquisition and data processing software. Light from the LED's was irradiated onto the finger nail bed and transmitted light was measured at different wavelengths. An effective baseline correction method was developed and measured data were analyzed by using various data processing methods and prediction algOlithms. For performance evaluation, a pulse oximeter simulator (Bio- Tek Instrument Inc.) was used as reference. The best performance in terms of the correlation coefficient and the standard deviation was obtained under the following conditions; when the arterial signals were computed in terms of area rather than peak-valley difference, and when the algorithm calculating by $In(I_p/I_v)/I_{avr}$ value for pulsation waveform was used. In in vivo test, prediction was improved when the developed baseline correction method was used. In addition, wavelengths of 660 nm and 940 nm provided better linearity and precision than wavelengths of 660 nm and 805 nm. 05 nm.

  • Ejector is a simple device which can transport a low-pressure secondary flow by using a high-pressure primary flow. The efficiency of the ejector system is relatively very low, compared to other fluid transport devices driven mainly by the forces acting on the normal direction. However, its major advantage is a simple structure with no moving parts, and it transports a large amount of fluid with a small driving energy. In this study, the performance of side-type liquid ejector commonly used in ships; is analyzed by using experimental and CFD methods under steady and incompressible flow condition by varying the length of the throat and diffuser, the flow pattern and suction phenomenon were studied in detail.

  • A control rod drive mechanism(CRDM) is a reactor regulating system, which inserts, withdraws or maintains a control rod containing a neutron absorbing material within a reactor core to control the reactivity of the core. The top-mounted CRDM for Jordan Research and Training Reactor(JRTR) with 5 MW power has been designed and fabricated based on the HANARO's experience through KAERI and DAEWOO consortium project. This paper describes the performance qualification test results to demonstrate the operability of a prototype and four production CRDMs during the reactor lifetime. The driving performance, the drop performance and the endurance tests for CRDM are carried out at a test rig simulating the actual reactor conditions. A vibration of internal components due to the coolant flow is also measured using a laser vibrometer. As a result, the CRDMs are driven having a good driving performance without a malfunction between command and output signals for the stepping motor. Also, the pure drop time and the impact acceleration are within 0.72 s and 4.2 g to meet the design requirements, and the vibrational displacement of control rod is measured as maximum $5.2{\mu}m$.

  • In comparison with some other light sources, LED has merits such as long lifetime, pollution free, and high energy efficiency. Lately, due to development of LED with high brightness and capacity, LED, which has been applied in display system only, has applied in the field of lighting system. As power LED for lighting system can be burned out by heat problem, the driving current of power LED has to be controlled below the designed value. In this paper, power LED photovoltaic lighting system, which has the current limitting function, has been described. After photovoltaic power is generated from PV panel. it is charged into a battery. And then, after the charged power is converted to DC24[V] through a boost DC-DC converter, it is supplied to power LED at night. It has been validated by designing and testing of 72[W] power LED lighting system, which includes a PV charger, a boost DC-DC converter and a current limiter for driving power LED.

  • The aim of the paper is to analysis on train propulsion system and to study for energy saving. For this study, we make the program that simulate actual operation of the train route. The train running simulation is performed from starting station to 4th station by using the route datas of Deajeon Metro Subway. The study for control method of electrical motor and energy recovery to save energy is selected. The train propulsion system is constituted as a M-G Set, which is realized via Space Vector Modulation(SVM) - Direct Torque Control(DTC), the energy consumption during train operation and energy recovery during breaking is simulated by Simplorer program, from this result, the energy consumption and recovery of train with SVM-DTC is studied.

  • The increasing application of power electronic equipment 'especially (ASDs: adjustable speed drives)] on distribution systems has led to a growing concern for harmonic distortion and the resulting impacts on system equipment and operations. Therefore, harmonic studies have become an important aspect of power system analysis and design in recently years. Computer simulations which is related harmonic are used to quantify the distortion in voltage waveforms in a power system. Many digital computer programs are available for harmonic analysis. In frequency spectrum analysis, Simulation using SuperHarm program is superior to simulation using others. Therefore, Computer simulation using SuperHarm program is one of the effective ways to assess the harmonic effects of ASDs. The purpose of this study is to calculate the quantity of harmonic voltage by varying the ASD side load and to design the optimal harmonic filter for the elimination of harmonics.

Study of Tolerance Suitability of Door Operation Mechanism on Mobile Air Handing Unit Using 3-DCS Analysis (3-DCS를 이용한 자동차 공기 분배장치의 도아 구동 기구의 공차 적합성 분석에 대한 연구)

  • Recent automakers are trying to be more precise with the dimension check and moving parts to guarantee high quality and satisfy customer requirements. The aim of this paper is to investigate the design tolerance suitability of door operating mechanism linked arms, lever, and cam-shaft in a mobile air handling unit. These parts are complicated because doors, arms, lever and cam-shaft are connected nonlinearly in 3D. The current tolerance analysis method poses problems in design analysis because the moving doors are reasonably suitable for the AHU function. The 3-DCS analysis method provided useful results not only in establishing the inspection criteria for the quality control of products but also in enabling economical production. As a result, the vent door had $1.62^{\circ}{\sim}1.72^{\circ}$ and the defrost door had $0.84^{\circ}{\sim}0.9^{\circ}$ for the directly connected arms operating-type. For the lever connected arm operating-type, the foot door had $2.0^{\circ}{\sim}2.24^{\circ}$ tolerance, while the tolerance values satisfied the air flow volume distribution rate criteria in the AHU. Finally, the results have confirmed the design's tolerance suitability by using 3-DCS analysis at the early design stages. Reliability can be achieved by analyzing accumulated tolerance during the sub-parts assembly process and the moving mechanism linked especially by arms, lever, and cam-shaft.

Accuracy Evaluation of Tumor Therapy during Respiratory Gated Radiation Therapy (호흡동조방사선 치료 시 종양 치료의 정확도 평가)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of a target position at static and dynamic state by using Dynamic phantom for the difference between tumor's actual movement during respiratory gated radiation therapy and skin movement measured by RPM (Real-time Position Management). Materials and Methods: It self-produced Dynamic phantom that moves two-dimensionally to measure a tumor moved by breath. After putting marker block on dynamic phantom, it analyzed the amplitude and status change depending on respiratory time setup in advance by using RPM. It places marker block on dynamic phantom based on this result, inserts Gafchromic EBT film into the target, and investigates 5 Gy respectively at static and dynamic state. And it scanned investigated Gafchromic EBT film and analyzed dose distribution by using automatic calculation. Results: As a result of an analysis of Gafchromic EBT film's radiation amount at static and dynamic state, it could be known that dose distribution involving 90% is distributed within margin of error of 3 mm. Conclusion: As a result of an analysis of dose distribution's change depending on patient's respiratory cycle during respiratory gated radiation therapy, it is expected that the treatment would be possible within recommended margin of error at ICRP 60.

  • In this paper, we address the problem of designing and implementing an oil pump control system driven by a brushless DC (BLDC) motor. The proposed oil pump plays the role of providing fuel to the engine clutch and transmission of hybrid vehicles. Main consideration is given to enhancing response feature and accuracy of the oil pump by simplifying the controller that is driven by a BLDC motor under PWM voltage control, which is a standard control method for BLDC motors. The proposed control scheme also helps to increase efficiency and reliability of the oil pump system. To validate the performance of the proposed system, we conduct experiments on BLDC motor speed control and oil pump operations.
