A Novel Multi-Level Type Sustaining Driver for AC Plasma Display Panel (새로운 방식의 멀티레벨 AC PDP 구동장치)

  • A new multi-level type energy recovery sustaining driver for AC PDP(Plasma Display Panel) is proposed in this paper. The multi-level driver has been developed to reduce the voltage stress on switching elements. Comparing the proposed driver with the conventional multi-level driver, 4 switching elements, 4 diodes, and two auxiliary capacitors are eliminated in the viewpoint of circuit structure. Moreover, the voltage stress on switching elements is more reduced and the sustain period is extended. To verify the validity of the proposed energy recovery circuit, computer simulations using PSpice program are carried out.

  • In case while modulation index (M) is more than 0.7, the spectrum of motor voltage and current of a conventional two-phase SRP scheme are not reduced considerably. To solve the problems of a conventional two-phase SRP, this paper proposes a two-phase SRP(DZSRP) with double zero vector mode which zero vector is selected as V(111) in case of $M\;\geqq\;0.7$, and zero vector is selected as V(000) if M < 0.7. For the validity of the proposed method, a 16 bit micro-controller C167 was used and the experiments were conducted with the 1.5kw induction motor under load condition. And the experimental results show that the switching noise spectrum for all the M are spread to a wide band area.

  • This paper describes design procedure and control strategy of HDC(High side DC/DC Converter) and MCU(Motor Control Unit) for diesel hybrid electric vehicle. In designing HDC and MCU for HEV high power density and reliability is strongly needed to meet the demand of automotive industry. In order to achieve the high performance of a controller, MPC5554 based control board is developed. An optimized film capacitor and inductor are also developed for high efficiency driving. Skim 63 IGBT module of SEMIKRON for automotive is used for power switching device. The most efficient cooling model for optimal size and reliability were verified by simulation. These procedures are verified by bench or driving test and the results are present in this paper.

  • This paper proposed a boost input type single stage resonant power supply for driving magnetron device. The proposed power supply can control both input power factor and output power at the same time. Also, because ZVS is achieved using the resonance between leakage inductance and resonant capacitance, switching losses are drastically reduced. To prevent breakdown or moding phenomenon of the magnetron due to excessive starting voltage, variable frequency ignition method is also proposed. Experimental results for the prototype power supply are presented and discussed to verify the validity of the proposed power supply.

  • SRM은 회전자의 구조가 간단하고 간단한 제어장치로 구동이 가능한 장점이 있지만 Cogging Torque로 인한 소음, 진동, 토크리플 등으로 인해 SRM의 안정화 운전에 장애가 되는 단점이 있다. 이를 제거하기 위한 방법으로는 외부회로에 제어기를 도입하여 전류파형을 조절하는 방법이 있으나 이 경우 고가의 복잡한 정밀제어기를 부착해야한다. 본 연구에서는 회전자의 형상을 조절하여 Cogging Torque를 감소시키는 방법을 연구한다. 이를 위하여 유한요소법을 이용하여 설계변수의 민감도를 계산하고 최적화 기법을 사용하여 형상변경 실시를 반복하여 최적설계를 하고자 한다.

  • The effect of sensor faults in DTC based induction motor drives is analyzed and a fault detection problem is treated. An adaptive gain scheduling observer is proposed for the design of DTC controller and a fault detection system. The observer provides not only the estimate of stator flux, a key variable in DTC system, but also the estimates of stator current, rotor speed that are useful for fault detection purpose. Simulations for various type of sensor faults are performed to evaluate the performance of the overall control system and the proposed sensor fault detection scheme.

  • 배전계통에서 전력전자 설비의 증가는 고조파 왜곡현상과 더불어 그로 인해 발생되는 계통 설비와 운용에 미치는 영향에 대한 관심의 증대를 가져오게 하였다. 그러므로, 최근에 고조파 연구는 전력계통의 분석과 설계에 있어 중요한 관점이 되고 있다. 고조파와 관련된 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션들은 전력계통에서 전압 왜곡현상을 나타내는 방법으로 사용되어져 왔으며, 많은 디지털 컴퓨터 프로그램들이 고조파 분석을 위해서 사용되고 있다. 주파수 스펙트럼 분석에 있어서, SuperHarm을 이용한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션은 다른 프로그램을 사용하는 것보다 효과적인 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 SuperHarm을 이용한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션으로 비선형 부하인 가변속 구동장치의 부하 변동에 따른 고조파 전압 분포를 살펴보고, 고조파 저감을 위해 필요한 최적의 고조파 필터를 설계하였다.

  • When a fault relating to the urgent alarm occurs, we must prevent control rods from dropping and make one of two grippers in Control Rod Drive Mechanism (CRDM) grip the drive rod taking a control rod assembly. To enhance the reliability of holding control rods, we order two grippers to hold the drive rod. This action is called the double holding. In the middle of the movement of the drive rod, the latching of the drive rod can cause friction between a gripper and the drive rod. This state may give damage to both the gripper and the drive rod. In this paper, we have devised the method which can have two grippers hold the drive rod more stably, without damaging the equipment.

  • In this paper we describe the fault detection methods in a Dual-Redundant Power Controller(DRPC) for Control Rod Control System(CRCS). The DRPC has the function of fault detection for controller itself and power modules. And in this paper we have described the some complex items out of fault detection methods for CRCS. By utilizing the suggested methods, we are convinced that these methods are applied to commercial use before long.

  • In this paper we proposed the real time monitoring system for power controller in CRCS. The proposed real time monitoring system can be utilized to adapt CRCS to real plant at initial step for commercial use. Through the this system, we are assured that CRCS is more easily fitted to real plant.
