This research examined the oral environmental factors to identify the risk factors for oral bacteria detection. This study comprised of 60 office workers aged between 20 and 65 years, and was performed from January 15 to February 28, 2015. The study variables measured were the stimulated and unstimulated salivary flow rates, salivary buffering, saliva pH, dry mouth at the dorsum of the tongue and the sublingual region, halitosis, and the degree of tongue-coating as oral environmental factors. To identify the presence of oral bacteria, pathogens were detected by extracting the gDNA of the resting salivary flow rate. The risk of S.mutans detection was 15 times higher with smokers, 1.3~1.6 times higher when the resting or stimulated salivary flow rate was reduced by 1 mm. The risk of P.intermedia detection was 13 times higher in smokers, 4.3 times higher as the severity of oral dryness was lowered, and 4 times higher for adults with a tongue coating than those without. In addition, the risk of detecting TM7 was 5.5 times higher as sublingual dryness was decreased by 1mm. The oral bacterial count will be reduced considerably by smoking cessation education and habits that facilitate a salivary flow rate. Furthermore, adults with good and well-managed dental hygiene are anticipated to have less oral bacteria and fewer dental diseases.

This study examined the relationship between the oral health knowledge of infants and the oral health management of their mothers. The participants were 198 mothers living in D city. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients with the SPSS/PC 20.0 program. The results revealed oral health to be a serious problem, and that a visit to a dentist regularly is important. The relationship between the oral health awareness and the confidence that can keep cavities from children did not show significant progress on any topic. A relationship was observed between oral health knowledge and confidence in children who visit a dentist once a year, and a negative correlation between the first visit times and the effects of fluoride on the teeth. The relationship between oral health awareness and mothers' confidence when their children felt a toothache was better when they visited a dental clinic and their knowledge about infant food and beverages without sugar improved. The results of this study can be used to improve the program for the mother's oral health knowledge and effective management in children's education.
The purpose of this study was to examine the symptom of dry mouth of workers, their subjective oral symptoms and factors affecting their oral health-related quality of life (Oral Health Impact Profile, OHIP-14) in an effort to provide information on the development of oral health promotion programs geared toward workers. The subjects in this study were the workers in five different companies in North Jeolla Province. After a survey was conducted from August 1 to September 20, 2012, the collected data were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: The office workers got 2.59 in oral dryness, and the sales associates got 1.82. The oral dryness of the former was severer than that of the latter (p<0.001). The irregular workers got 2.05 in OHIP-14, and the regular workers got 1.82 (p<0.001). Symptom of dry mouth had a positive correlation to OHIP-14 (r=0.456). OHIP-14 was positively correlated with age (r=0.209) and negatively with academic credential (r=-0.136). OHIP-14 was more significantly affected when their symptom of dry mouth was severer (${\beta}=0.383$, p<0.001), when they were older (${\beta}=0.221$, p<0.001) and when they felt they had oral diseases (${\beta}=0.146$, p<0.01). In conclusion, quality programs should be developed to promote the oral health of industrial workers in consideration of the influential factors for the oral health-related quality of life of the workers, and the government should pay more attention to related policy setting to improve the oral health of industrial workers.

The subjects included in this study were 712 elderly people, aged 65 years or older and who had completed the oral examination, health questionnaires and nutrition examination. Statistical analysis was done using the SPSS 19.0 for Windows. We determined Frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis. General characteristics and oral health behaviors showed differences in number of teeth associated with as male, the lower age, as dong, the higher education level, the lower smoking, the more use oral health goods, in DMFT associated with the lower age, the lower income level, the higher education level, in FS-T associated with as female, the higher income level, the more use brushing, in T-Health associated with as male, the lower age, as dong, the lower smoking, the more use oral health goods, in CPI associated with as male, the lower age, as dong, the lower smoking, the more use oral health goods. In conclusion, oral health behavior have effect on oral health index, in order to improve the quality of life and promote oral health of the elderly, oral health education system should be organized. Local governments should be supported active and various oral health program for the elderly.
The objective of this study was to examine whether there is an association of oral health conditions between mothers and their preschool children in Korea. A sample of 823 preschool children and their mothers were selected for this study from the database of the fourth Korean National Health and Nutrition examination Survey. Preschool children were defined as children aged 4, 5, and 6 years old. The subjects were clinically examined for the presence of caries lesions (dft index) and their mother was checked for the presence of dental caries (DMFT index) and periodontal status (CPI). The socio-demographic characteristics and mother's oral health behaviours were considered covariates in this study. Univariate and multivariate analysis was adapted to assess the association of oral health condition between mothers and their preschool children. In univariate analysis, there were significant differences between preschool children's dft index and their mother's age (p=0.005), dental treatment demand for the past one year (p=0.034), and DMFT index (p=0.016). In multivariate analysis, only mother's DMFT index was significantly associated with their children's dft index after adjusting for covariates. In conclusion, the mother's oral health was partly associated with their preschool children's oral health in Korea.
This study conducted questionnaire survey with 268 workers in Ulsan city to examine influencing factors about Oral behavior and Missing teeth of some workers. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 program. The analysis results are as follows. 1. Oral health awareness was highest in thirties (p<0.01). For oral health sensitivity, female was higher than male (p<0.01). The lower the age was (p<0.05) and the higher the academic background was, there was statistically significant difference (p<0.01). 2. The lower the age was (p<0.001) and the higher the academic background was, the number of daily tooth brushing was more (p<0.001) and there was statistically significant difference. 3. The more the number of daily tooth brushing was, portion of Missing teeth was low (p<0.01). When oral hygiene devices such as interdental brush, dental floss etc. were used, portion of Missing teeth was low (p<0.01). When dental visit for prevention was made, portion of Missing teeth was low (p<0.05). In case of periodontal disease, portion of Missing teeth was high so that there was statistically significant difference (p<0.01). 4. There was positive relationship according to oral health awareness and oral health sensitivity, oral health status. The oral health status and Missing teeth had a negative effect relationship. Relationship between number of Tooth brushing and Missing teeth showed negative one. In summary, oral health education is needed to increase the motivation of industrial workers to control their basic dental disease.
