With the increase in infrastructure needs and tunnel construction, more complicated geometries have come to light, especially in cross tunnel design and construction. The major factors to influence existing tunnels are spacing between tunnels, relative position, size of the new tunnel, construction techniques, topographic and geologic conditions, structure, and alternative construction. In this study, settlement from an excavation for a new tunnel near an existing tunnel, settlement from a change in position of the new tunnel relative to an existing tunnel, and the distribution of deformations of the existing tunnel as a result of excavating the cross-location are analyzed through laboratory model tests. As the results, in condition of the new tunnels go through below the existing tunnel, not only analysed through the standard of the diameter of the tunnel, so it would need to set up to strengthen the field within each side of the 1D, but also determined the part of the cross in the existing and the new tunnel, should implement the reinforcement from the part of new tunnel to the existing tunneling influence of excavation.
This study describes cross-contamination events that occur in animal food processing. We analyzed the number of Salmonella spp. contamination transferred from pork meat to workers' hands (wearing polyethylene gloves; PG, cotton gloves; CG, and bare hands), cutting boards and knives, and vice versa. Transfer rate of CG 38.80% was higher than that of PG 3.11% and bare hands 1.35%. In particular, when wearing CG, the transfer rate from the CG to bare hands with CG was 0.07%. Also, the range of transfer rates from the contaminated pork meat to cutting board and knife was 0.20-1.99%. In contrast, the transfer rates from the worker's hands (with PG/CG and bare hands) to cutting board, knife, and pork meat ranged from 0.0015-0.21%. There was a lower transfer rate from workers' hands than from pork meat. These findings indicate that the use of PG compared with CG could effectively reduce or prevent the cross-contamination and provide important information concerning the consecutive transfer of Salmonella spp. during food processing.
The purpose of this study is to provide the criteria for implementing unprotected left turn at intersections with variation of traffic volume on a cross road approach. Using Transyt-7F model, the delays calculated from permissive and protected left turn signal system were compared by gradually increasing the left turn volume for a certain opposing through volume up to the volume limits to which permissive left turn is more effective, Average stopped delay of the intersection was used as the measure of effectiveness in this study. The major conclusions are (1) the lighter the traffic gets in a cross road, the more the allowable left turn volume increases. The allowable left turn volume when the ratio of cross traffic to the concerned approach traffic is 0.6 appears about 50% more than the volume when the ratio is 1.0. (2) Comparing to the criteria of the manual of traffic safety facility, the results when the traffic ratio is 0.6 seem to be most similar the criteria of manual and the results when the traffic ratio are 0.8 and 1.0 appears to be lower than the criteria of manual. (3) The possible amount of making a left turn that is inversely proportional to the opposing through traffic, decreases as the number of opposing through lanes increases. The products of volume need to be used as the criteria of permissive left turn with considerable cautions because of its low consistency.

Change detection technique is essential to various applications of Very High-Resolution(VHR) satellite imagery and land monitoring. However, change detection accuracy of VHR satellite imagery can be decreased due to various geometrical dissimilarity. In this paper, the existing fusion evaluation indexes were revised and applied to improve VHR imagery based change detection accuracy between multi-temporal images. In addition, appropriate change detection methodology of VHR images are proposed through comparison of general change detection algorithm with cross-sharpened image based change detection algorithm. For these purpose, ERGAS, UIQI and SAM, which were representative fusion evaluation index, were applied to unsupervised change detection, and then, these were compared with CVA based change detection result. Methodologies for minimizing the geometrical error of change detection algorithm are analyzed through evaluation of change detection accuracy corresponding to image fusion method, also. The experimental results are shown that change detection accuracy based on ERGAS index by using cross-sharpened images is higher than these based on other estimation index by using general fused image.

Steady and unsteady numerical simulations are conducted for the comparison with the experiments performed to investigate the ram accelerator flow field by using an expansion tube facility in Stanford University. Wavier-Stokes equations for chemically reacting flows are analyzed by fully implicit and time accurate numerical methods with Jachimowski's detailed chemistry model for hydrogen-air combustion involving 9 species and 19 reaction steps. Although the steady state numerical simulation shows a good agreement with the experimental schlieren and OH PLIF images for the case of $2H_2$+$O_2$+$17N_2$ fails in reproducing the combustion region behind the shock intersection point shown in the case of $2H_2$+$O_2$+$12N_2$ mixture. Therefore, an unsteady numerical simulation is conducted for this case and the result shows all the detailed flow stabilization process. From the result of unsteady numerical simulation, the experimental result seems to be an instantaneous state during the flow stabilization process. The combustion behind the shock intersection point is the result of a normal detonation formed by the intersection of strong oblique shocks that exist at early stage of the stabilization process. At final stage, the combustion region behind the shock intersection point disappears and the steady state result is retained. The time required for stabilization of the reacting flow in the model ram accelerator is found to be very long in comparison with the experimental test time.

Part-of-Speech (POS) tagged corpus is a collection of electronic text in which each word is annotated with a tag as the corresponding POS and is widely used for various training data for natural language processing. The training data generally assumes that there are no errors, but in reality they include various types of errors, which cause performance degradation of systems trained using the data. To alleviate this problem, we propose a novel method for detecting errors in the existing POS tagged corpus using the classifier of XGBoost and cross-validation as evaluation techniques. We first train a classifier of a POS tagger using the POS-tagged corpus with some errors and then detect errors from the POS-tagged corpus using cross-validation, but the classifier cannot detect errors because there is no training data for detecting POS tagged errors. We thus detect errors by comparing the outputs (probabilities of POS) of the classifier, adjusting hyperparameters. The hyperparameters is estimated by a small scale error-tagged corpus, in which text is sampled from a POS-tagged corpus and which is marked up POS errors by experts. In this paper, we use recall and precision as evaluation metrics which are widely used in information retrieval. We have shown that the proposed method is valid by comparing two distributions of the sample (the error-tagged corpus) and the population (the POS-tagged corpus) because all detected errors cannot be checked. In the near future, we will apply the proposed method to a dependency tree-tagged corpus and a semantic role tagged corpus.

The establishment of a complete geological model that includes information about all the various components at a site (such as underground structures and the compositions of rock and soil underground space) is difficult, and geological modeling is a developing field. This study uses commercial software for the relatively easy composition of geological models. Our digital modeling process integrates a model of Jeju Island's 3D geological information, models of cave shapes, and information on the state of a road at the site's upper surface. Among the numerous natural caves that exist in Jeju Island, we studied the Jaeamcheon lava tube near Hallim town, and the selected site lies below a road. We developed a digital model by applying the principles of building information modeling (BIM) to the cave (CaveBIM). The digital model was compiled through gathering and integrating specific data: relevant processes include modeling the cave's shape using a laser scanner, 3D geological modeling using geological information and geophysical exploration data, and modeling the surrounding area using drones. This study developed a global-scale model of the Hallim region and a local-scale model of the Jaeamcheon cave. Cross-validation was performed when constructing the LSM, and the results were compared and analyzed.

The development of resistance to acequinocyl was found in the population of the twospotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae, collected from rose greenhouses in Gimhae, Gyeongnam province in January 2001. This pest is reared on 5 years treated with acequinocyl (over 200 times), and increased 87.8 folds in resistance as compared to susceptible strain (S). Inheritance of acequinocyl resistant strain (R) and cross resistance of this strain to 8 acaricides against T. urticae adults and eggs was investigated. There were differences of susceptibility in the acequinocyl concentration-mortality relationships in $F_1$ progenies obtained from reciprocal cross with the S and R strain ($S(female){\times}R(male)$, $R(female){\times}S(male)$). Degrees of dominance were -0.75, -0.57 in $F_1$ progenies of adult and egg of $S(female){\times}R(male)$. Inheritance in $F_1$ progenies of $S(female){\times}R(male)$ was incomplete recessive. Degree of dominance were 0.81, 0.45 in $F_1$ progenies of adult and egg of $R(female){\times}S(male)$, respectively. These results suggest that inheritance of acequinocyl resistance is controlled by a complete dominance. The R strain exhibited cross resistance of 1.1 and 0.9 fold to amitraz, bifenazate, and negatively correlated cross resistance of 0.08 fold to emamectin benzoate in adult females. The R strain showed cross resistance of 37.7, 14.0, and 26.2 fold to amitraz, milbemectin and spriodiclofen in eggs, respectively. Particularly it showed high levels of cross-resistance to pyridaben with 6538.3 fold. These chemicals showed negatively correlated cross-resistance exhibited 0.4, 0.3, and 0.2 fold to ahamectin, bifenazate, and emamectin benzoate in eggs.

In this study, we studied the directional pattern of entering the intersection from the intersection upstream link prior to predicting short future (such as 5 or 10 minutes) intersection direction traffic volume on the interrupted flow, and examined the possibility of traffic volume prediction using traffic assignment model. The analysis method of this study is to investigate the similarity of patterns by performing cluster analysis with the ratio of traffic volume by intersection direction divided by 2 hours using taxi DTG (Digital Tachograph) data (1 week). Also, for linking with the result of the traffic assignment model, this study compares the impact area of 5 minutes or 10 minutes from the center of the intersection with the analysis result of taxi DTG data. To do this, we have developed an algorithm to set the impact area of intersection, using the taxi DTG data and traffic assignment model. As a result of the analysis, the intersection entry pattern of the taxi is grouped into 12, and the Cubic Clustering Criterion indicating the confidence level of clustering is 6.92. As a result of correlation analysis with the impact area of the traffic assignment model, the correlation coefficient for the impact area of 5 minutes was analyzed as 0.86, and significant results were obtained. However, it was analyzed that the correlation coefficient is slightly lowered to 0.69 in the impact area of 10 minutes from the center of the intersection, but this was due to insufficient accuracy of O/D (Origin/Destination) travel and network data. In future, if accuracy of traffic network and accuracy of O/D traffic by time are improved, it is expected that it will be able to utilize traffic volume data calculated from traffic assignment model when controlling traffic signals at intersections.

In this paper, in order to find effective features which can handle variations in off-line handwritten numerals, we performed a comparative study on various sets of features. Results of experimental performance comparison shows that 4- directional features using contours and features which combined cross distance, cross, mesh and projection features are very effective for off-line handwritten numerals recognition in terms of recognition rates and recognition time. And in order to surmount limitation of recognition rate by a single neural network. we proposed a modularized neural network using majority voting and reliability factor with complex feature that mix effective features together. In order to verify the performance of the proposed method, the handwritten numeral databases of Concordia University of Canada and Dong-A University of Korea are used in the experiments. With the database of Concordia University, the recognition rate of 97.1%, the rejection rate of 1.5%, the error rate of 1.4% and the reliability of 98.5% are obtained ; and with the database of Dong-A University, there cognition rate of 98%, the rejection rate of 1.2%, the error rate of 0.8%, the reliability o99.1% are obtained.
