An Analysis of Pedestrian Behavior at Crosswalks of Signalized Intersections (신호교차로 횡단보도 위치에 따른 보행자의 행태분석)

  • 일반적으로 교차로에서의 보행자 사고는 대부분이 횡단보도에서나 횡단보도 주변에서 발생하는 것이 많다. 이것은 운전자의 안전의식부족뿐만 아니라 보행자들이 교통법규를 지키지 않기 때문이다. 교통사고는 운전자나 보행자를 막론하고 안전의식 수준 및 안전시설의 질적 수준과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 특히 횡단보도 위치와 관련한 정지선에 대한 기준이 없어서 횡단보도 전후에 정지선이 2개가 설치된 곳이 많아 차량간의 사고를 유발하고, 보행자는 보행동선을 단축하기 위해 횡단보도 주변횡단이라는 위험한 행태를 유발하지만 이에 대한 연구나 대안제시가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 요인분석법이란 다변량 통계기법을 통해서 사고기록과 형태자료를 분석하였다. 사고기록은 정지선이 2개에서 1개로 변경된 25개 교차로에 대한 보행자와 차량의 유형별, 위치별, 피해정도별 사고기록을 조사 분석하고 행태분석은 현재 정지선이 2개인 곳과 기하구조가 유사한 정지선 1개인 곳을 하나의 쌍으로 해서 모두 8쌍(16개의 교차로 횡단보도)를 조사 분석하였으며, 마지막으로 설문조사를 통해서 보행자의 교통법규 준수와 인식정도에 대한 조사를 통해 보행자들의 인식과 행태조사를 통한 교통법규 준수 정도를 알아보았다. 사고자료의 분석을 통해서 첫째, 정지선이 2개인 교차로는 교차로내 차량사고, 접근부의 후면 추돌사고, 횡단보도에서 보행자사고가, 둘째, 정지선이 1개인 교차로는 유출부 차량사고가 많은 것으로 나타났으며, 행태자료의 분석을 통해서는 첫째, 정지선이 2개인 곳은 횡단보도를 이탈 또는 진입하면서 횡단하는 보행자, 점멸신호에 횡단 시작하는 보행자의 행태와 보행자 신호에 횡단보도를 통과하는 차량, 둘째, 정지선이 1개일 때는 횡단보도를 침범해서 정지하는 차량, 도로에 내려서서 기다리는 보행자가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 설문조사와 행태조사를 종합하면, 보행자들의 인식으로는 약 71%의 응답자와 점멸신호의 의미를 알고, 전체 응답자의 약 58%가 점멸신호에 건너지 않고 기다린다는 응답(교통법규준수)을 했으며, 실제 행태에서는 약 12.4%가 위반하는 것(87.6% 법규준수)으로 나타났다. 보행자들이 응답한 것보다 실제 행태에서는 더 많은 보행자가 교통법규를 준수하는 것으로 나타났으며, 횡단보도를 이용하는데 있어서 횡단보도를 침범하는 차량과 신호시간이 적다는 의견이 많았다.

  • This investigation is carried out numerically for the two dimensional natural convection and surface radiation heat transfer in a square enclosure. The bottom and top walls are isothermal at hot and cold temperatures respectively whereas the left and right side walls are adiabatic except a transparent window on the right side partially. The exchange of radiant energy is obtained by the net radiation method and the shape factor by the crossed string method. The changes in temperature and Nusselt number distributions of the walls due to the surface radiation and insolation are also investigated.

Accuracy of Intersection Counting Method in Measurement of Fiber Orientation Angle Distribution Using Image Processing (화상처리에 의한 섬유배향각 분포측정에 있어서 교차점합산법의 정밀도)

  • The fiber oriented condition inside fiber reinforced composite material is a basic factor of mechanical properties of composite materials. It is very important to meausure the fiber orientation angle for the determination of molding conditions, mechanical characteristics, and the design of composite materials. In the work, the fiber orientation distribution of simulation figure plotted by PC is measured using image processing in order to examine the accuracy of intersection counting method. The fiber orientation function measured by intersection counting method using image processing is compared with the calculated fiber orientation function. The results show that the measured value of fiber orientation function using intersection counting method is lower than the calculated value, because the number of intersection between the scanning line and the fiber with smaller fiber aspect ratio is counted less than with larger fiber aspect ratio.

Signal Optimization Model Reflecting Alternative Use of Lanes for Left/Through Traffic at A Signalized Intersection (차로공동이용화를 위한 신호최적화모형 개발 연구)

  • Signal optimization model for alternative use of lanes at a signalized intersection with an stop-line added backward was presented in this paper. The simulation results shot-ed that the traffic fed from the stop-line passed the intersection in each specified phasing interval for left and through traffic. The experimental results indicated that the proposed model was much superior to traditional signal optimization methodology in reducing delay, fuel consumption, and disutility index for delay and stops. The effects for reducing delay were greater than those for doing fuel consumption and disutility index due to the added stop-line. The proposed model is expected to alleviate traffic congestion at intersections, both which have no left turn pocket, and which have large left turn volume. The model is recommended to adapted for intersections spaced long among them with no near driveway.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the frequency characteristics and the crosstalk of the adjacent parallel lines and the crossed lines in high-speed packaging interconnections by using the three-dimensional finite difference time domain (3D FDTD) method. To analyze the actual crosstalk phenomena in the transmission of the high-speed digital sgnal, the step pulse with fast rise time was used for the source excitation signal instead of using the Gaussian pulse that is generally used in FDTD. To veify the theoretical resutls, the experimental interconnection lines that were fabricated on the Duroid substrate($\varepsilon_{r}$=2.33, h=0.787 [mm]) were tested by TDR(time domain reflectometry). The results show good agreement between the analyzed results and the tested outcomes.

  • 전자 해도 정보 시스템(ECDIS: Electronic Chart and Display Infomation System)에서 항로의 기준선에서 선박이 떨어져 있는 거리인 항로 이탈 거리(XTD: Cross Track Distance)를 구하기 위해서는 선박이 변침점 간의 몇 번째 경로에 있는지 판단해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 변침점 간 경로상의 순서를 파악하기 위하여 기존의 알고리즘과 수학적으로 같으며 계산량을 줄이는 새로운 접근법을 제시하였다. 그 결과로 기존보다 삼각함수 호출 수를 75%로 줄였다.

Design of a Narrow-Band Bandpass Filter Using Microstrip Open-Loop Resonators With Coupled and Crossing Lines (결합 및 교차 선로를 갖는 마이크로스트립 개방루프 공진기를 이용한 협대역 대역통과 여파기 설계)

  • In this paper, a narrow-band bandpass filter using microstrip open-loop resonators with coupled and crossing lines is designed and fabricated. This filter has many advantages such as compact in size, low weight and the characteristic of the elliptic-function narrow-band bandpass filtering. The configuration consists of two identical microstrip open loop resonators, coupled line and crossing line. By using open loop resonators, the size of the filter can be reduced about 50% compared with the ring resonators. A crossing line gives two notchs in the stopband, which have sharp selectivity in the passband. Centered at 2.455GHz, the calculated microstrip bandpass filter shows a bandwidth of 1.22%, which makes it very attractive for application in the wireless LAN. The filter is fabricated by photo-etching process. The fabricated bandpass filter shows that the bandwidth is 0.85% for 2.458GHz and the size is only $2.6cm\times1cm$.

Algorithm for Cross-avoidance Bypass Routing in Numberlink Puzzle (숫자 연결 퍼즐에 관한 교차 회피 우회 경로 알고리즘)

  • The numberlink puzzle(NLP), which non-crossings with other numbers of connection in connecting lines through empty cells between a given pair of numbers, is an NP-complete problem with no known way to solve the puzzle in polynomial time. Until now, arbitrary numbers have been selected and puzzles have been solved using trial-and-error methods. This paper converts empty cells into vertices in lattice graphs connected by edge between adjacent cells for a given problem. Next, a straight line was drawn between the pairs of numbers and divided into groups of numbers where crossing occurred. A bypass route was established to avoid intersection in the cross-number group. Applying the proposed algorithm to 18 benchmarking data showed that the puzzle could be solved with a linear time complexity of O(n) for all data.

A DNA Microextractor Using Crossed Field Electrophoresis (교차 전기영동법을 이용한 극소형 DNA 추출기)

  • This paper presents a microextractor for the separation of DNA molecules by their sizes. The DNA microextractor immobilizes the DNA molecules of specific size in the micropillar array by adjusting the period of the crossed electric field, thus providing a starting-point independent target DNA extraction method without separation process monitoring. The DNA microextractor has been fabricated by a three-mask micromachining process. The velocity of three different DNA molecules has been measured at the electric field of E=5V/0.8cm in the fabricated DNA microextractor, resulting in the reorientation times of $4.80{\pm}0.44sec,\;7.12{\pm}0.75sec$, and $9.88{\pm}0.30sec$ for ${\lambda}$ DNA, micrococcus DNA, and T4 DNA, respectively. T4 DNA is trapped in the micropillar array when the crossed electric field of 5V/0.8cm is applied alternately at a 10 second time interval. The present DNA microextractor filters the DNA in a specific size range by adjusting the magnitude and/or the period of the crossed electric field applied in the micropillar array.

Detection Method of Leukocyte Motions in a Microvessel (미소혈관 내 백혈구 운동의 검출법)

  • In this paper, we propose a detection method of the leukocyte motions in a microvessel by using spatiotemporal image analysis. The leukocyte motions that adhere to blood vessel walls can be visualized to move along the blood vessel wall's contours in a sequence of images. In this proposal method, we use the constraint that the leukocytes move along the blood vessel wall's contours and detect the leukocyte motions by using the spatiotemporal image analysis method. The generated spatiotemporal image is processed by a special-purpose orientation-selective filter and then subsequent grouping processes are done. The subsequent grouping processes select and group the leukocyte trace segments among all the segments obtained by simple thresholding and skeletonizing operations. Experimental results show that the proposed method can stably detect the leukocyte motions even when multiple leukocyte traces intersect each other.
