  • New models for prison ministry are crucial during the current era of mass incarceration in America-a time when the potential reach of prison ministries can grow as the population of incarcerated individuals grows. In this article, I lift up one prison ministry in New Jersey as an example of how Christian evangelicals who are engaged in traditional prison ministry can bravely open their minds and hearts to models of religious education that go beyond individual conversion toward communal transformation. In this article I present an example of a neo-evangelical group named Jericho Ministries, Inc., a prison ministry that understood this and consequently tried to develop a prison ministry that was not only a charitable endeavor, but also a just one.

A Study on Ambiguity Resolving for Pen-based Proofreading of Web Documents (펜 기반 웹 문서 교정을 위한 모호성 문제 해결에 관한 연구)

  • To produce accurate editing results, the ambiguity of editing scopes related to marked correction signs should be solved. Proofreading the web document modifies the document structures, and the modified structures should be robustly valid for the defined DTD. This paper presents a pen-based proof-reading interface in the XML document. In the proposed interface, correction signs are free-drawn, and the editing scopes are recognized and revised based on the contexts of the document to minimize the ambiguity of the editing scopes. The proposed interface provides both implicit and explicit modification methods for document structures. As a result, the editing scopes processed in the proposed interface are more accurate, and the document structures are maintained valid for DTD after the editing.

The Case Study on the Creation and the Use of the Bibliotherapy Program for the Correctional Education of Juvenile Delinquents: Focus on the Juvenile Correctional School at P City (비행 청소년 교정교육을 위한 독서치료 프로그램 개발 및 적용 사례 연구 - P소년원을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss about problems exposed as operating of bibliotherapy program and to find way to vitalize bibliotherapy as a correctional education for juvenile delinquents. The institutionalized youths of juvenile correctional school at P city which have been chosen as the sample representatives for planning, implementing, accessing and analyzing this program. The analysed results of the program show that points are to be considered: (1) Priority should be given to self-motivated youths when selecting participants. (2) Setting up as a regular program at juvenile correctional school. (3) To be necessary active participation, individual program should be provided in abreast of group program. (4) Creating adequate environment in other to ensure continuous self-healing for bibliotherapy (5) To create of professional bibliotherapy programs specialized for juvenile delinquents (6) Bases for Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and The National Central Library, and between local juvenile corrective institutions and local libraries (7) Ultimately, To found a library at juvenile correctional schools.

  • Considering the domestic traffic environment and the increase of traffic accidents, we have been asked to exactly analyze the main causes of accidents for the accident-experienced drivers to be rehabilitated. In this thesis we present the development process and results of a driving simulator using the IPDE method in the interest of safe driving and driving rehabilitation. Through this Driving simulation development the rehabilitated driver has the possibility of experiencing the real driving situation with the driving aptitude and examines the reasons of accidents. Through the examinations the driver has the chance to correct the deformities of driving by choosing the explanatory scenes, and through this process the driver is able to develop the capability to react in the real situation. However this driving simulation system is one of the best developed, depending on weather and road condition the braking distance may change. Therefore the fuzzy rule and neural network have been used in this thesis to solve previously mentioned problem. The simulation exactly calculated the road and weather conditions to adjust the breaking intensity.

Implementation of Korean Error Correction System (한국어 오류 교정 시스템의 구현)

  • Korean error detectors of word processors have defects such as inconvenience that users choose one of error groups, lower detecting rate of 60%, and slow processing time. In this study, I proposed a resolution method of these defects. For these, I applied bidirectional longest match strategy for morphological analysis to improve processing time. I suggested dictionaries and several algorithms such as seperation of compound noun and assistant declinable words, correction of typing error to improve processing time and to guarantee correction accuracy. I also suggested a distinguishable method for dependent noun/suffix and Josa/Eomi where many ambiguities are generated, and a distinguishable method for Korean "로써/로서" to improve the reliability of the correction system.

  • A person with defects and the lack of hearing, has very difficult problems to listen to the sound of conversation or environment, and these problems cause wrong directions in the linguistic sense and character. We designed and implemented an application to practice and correct pronunciation of a hearing-impaired person specially. This is made as a mobile app without the limitation of time and space, and this provides practices with the level of difficulty in learning of pronunciation, taking into consideration of remedial status in pronunciation. The hearing-impaired person can train the basic pronunciation and the word pronunciation. He or she can practice basic skills in pronunciation and check the record on the practice rate and the success rate. Also, the person can improve pronunciation by self-correction function using the front camera of a smart phone.
