Development of a Medical Radiation Simulator System for Education and Proposal of a Research Model (교육용 의료방사선 시뮬레이터 시스템 개발 및 연구 모델 제안)

  • Due to the development of advanced technology, a lot of digital radiographic equipment has been developed, which is very helpful for accurate diagnosis and treatment, and it is very important to train personnel who have acquired professional knowledge in order to use it safely and effectively. Students are exposed to the risk of radiation exposure in radiography training using diagnostic X-ray equipment, and some educational institutions do not use X-ray equipment due to management difficulties in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act. As a solution to this, this study developed a medical radiation simulator for education that does not generate radiation by using a vision sensor and self-developed software. Through this, educational institutions can reduce the burden of administrative implementation according to the law, and students can obtain a high level of educational effects in a healthy practice environment without radiation exposure.

  • There are two ways of wireless network practice. One of the ways is to use wireless network equipments directly. And the other way is to use wireless network simulators. But they have some problems such that space limitation, required equipments and setting up the simulators for each wireless network practices. So, in this paper, we showed the model of application for students and professor is modeled from real practice environment. We also suggested algorithms for implementation of an application about wireless network practice based on web.

  • In order to efficiently provide the learning ability for engineering education, electromagnetic field simulator have been developed on lava 2 platform. Each simulation module based on lava applet can be easily utilized with independent platform and provide GUI environment to set up physical conditions. The numerical results using computer animation technique are provided in real time. To aggregate and manage the learning objects, application of SCORM which is e-Learning standards is also studied.

  • Electromagnetic field simulator have been developed on Java 2 platform (J2SE) because provides robust solutions for applications as well as object oriented design. The simulator can be easily utilized with independent platform. Physical variables for the simulator can be controlled by the user. The numerical results are immediately displayed with graphical images in real time. Therefore, this simulator is intended to be used for education such as antenna engineering, microwave engineering, electromagnetic theory and so on.

Educational Effects of a Virtual IV Simulator and a Mannequin Arm Model Combined Training in Teaching Intravenous Cannulation for Nursing Students (간호대학생을 위한 정맥주사용 가상학습 시뮬레이터와 마네킨 팔 모형을 병합한 정맥주사 실습교육의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the effects on nursing students' knowledge, performance confidence, and skills from combined virtual IV simulator and mannequin arm IV cannulation training against training with a mannequin arm only. A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest experimental study was carried out. Ninety-three sophomore nursing students who were just beginning their fundamental skills training were recruited. Participants were divided into two groups (46 for the combined group and 47 for the mannequin-only group). Data were collected from March 18-29. For the experimental group, both virtual IV simulator and mannequin-arm training were provided for 30 minutes (15 minutes each). For the control group, training for 30 minutes with a mannequin arm only was provided. After intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the knowledge score between the two groups (F=2.52, p=.116). However, there was a significant improvement in performance confidence (t=2.14, p=.035) and nursing skills (t=5.34, p<.001) in the experimental group, compared with the control. Overall, this study provides empirical evidence that the combination of virtual IV simulator and mannequin arm training may further enhance nursing students' performance confidence and nursing skills.

  • A ship handling simulator is popular means of preventing marine accidents caused by human error. It can also be used to train navigators. A real-time 3D visualization system, a component of a ship handling simulator, is an important component, as realistic and intuitive image generation play an essential role in improving the effects of education using ship handling simulators. This paper discusses the design of a new real-time 3D visualization system based on an open source 3D graphics engine as well as its implementation. The developed real-time 3D visualization system satisfies the operational requirements derived in terms of visualization functionalities, reuse of legacy graphic data, and interoperability with other systems constituting a ship handling simulator. This system has an architecture in which new functionalities are easily added.

  • In this study, we presented a research about the development of the phoropter simulation program for education using the 3-D virtual reality in order to study the ophthalmic optics rather efficiently. Especially, by putting the facility such as the refractive error analysis of the eyeball in the cyber tutor inside, we have made the learner to learn and confirm the present situation of refractive correction through refractive power of principal meridians. By organizing the system which induces the active involvement of the learner and showing the result of the execution to the learner intuitively, the implementation of the more efficient education-environment can be possible. Consequently, it is expected that this program will be greatly helpful for the optician training as well as the ophthalmic optics education. As a next phase of study, we will develope the development technique of this simulator more and extend the cyber tutor contents more and make the web service version of this program to be provided through the internet network in order to inspire the learning desire of the learner more and more.

  • 산업이 발전해 가며 공장 자동화를 하는 회사는 나날이 늘어가고 있으며 현재 산업 전반에 걸쳐 자동화 시스템을 채택하지 않는 곳을 찾아보기 어렵고 이 시스템의 시험 및 운영자 교육용으로 시뮬레이터에 대한 관심은 높아 가고 있는 실정이다. 여기에서는 한국전력에서 사용하고 있는 터빈 제어 삼중화 시스템이 어떠한 보팅 기법들을 적용하여 설계되었으며 그 기능이 어떻게 구현되었는지를 실제 제품의 사례분석을 통해 검토해 보고자 한다. 검토 대상은 삼중화 제어기에 대해서만 시행할 예정이다. 이는 실제 현장이 경제성을 수반한 제어기의 신뢰, 이용, 안정, 수행, 지속, 시험, 확실성 등을 원하고 있으며 또한 시뮬레이터를 설계하는 사람들에게 삼중화 주제어기에 대한 비교(MARK-V, Triconex-TMR, GE-Fanuc, Woodward-Micronet) 소개함으로서 더욱더 현장과 가까운 시뮬레이터를 설계할 수 있도록 하기 위함이다.
