This essay aims to seek an alternative model of catechesis, as this form of education faces various challenges from the Korean Church especially during COVID-19 pandemic. For a long time, catechesis in the Korean Church narrowly focused on the act of producing Christians who would be loyal to the local church, rather than focusing on nurturing members loyal to Christ, an issue that has been problematized in recent publications on catechesis. Thus, the loss of social trust in the Korean Church and the decline of its public image exemplify how this type of catechesis as disciple-making for local church's benefit, mostly nurtures a vertical dimension of faith. The current teaching and learning method mostly employs a unilateral transfer of doctrine from the teacher to the learner and emphasizes the memorization of doctrine. This type of instruction renders the catechesis as the most lackluster and outdated form of Christian education. This essay aims to reconceptualize the traditional model of catechesis. This essay first critically evaluates current situations of catechesis and presents several alternative meanings on the concept of doctrine. Then it explores the theories of catechesis through different models posed by Christian educators such as John Westerhoff III and Richard Osmer. The final section is devoted to presenting an alternative form of catechesis that focuses on seeking holistic faith.

조명탄 탄체 착발거리 전투실험은 탄체 착발거리에 대한 전문가 및 학계의 의견이 상이하고, 또한 교리적인 면에서도 조명제 파열후 탄체에 대한 거리 규명과 탄저마개 낙탄지대에 대한 교리가 미정립되어 있다. 따라서 이러한 교리적인 분석결과를 토대로 안흥종합시험장에서 국방과학연구소, 국방품질 관리소 및 탄약 제조업체가 참여하여 탄체 착발거리를 규명하기 위한 전투실험을 실시하여 탄체 착발거리 뿐만 아니라 탄저마개의 낙탄지대도 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 전투실험결과는 창군이래 처음 실시해서 새롭게 발견한 귀중한 산물로 평시 및 국지도발 작전시 조명탄 사격간 대민 피해예방에 획기적으로 기여할 것이라고 본다.

This paper examined some problems of media coverage of religion by analyzing a television documentary. The SBS-TV documentary "God's way Man's way" aired in 2008, critically presented the basic Christian doctrine. The producers of the program estimate that protestant churches in Korea have become an established power, which has influence on a societal and political level. Therefore the producers believe that they have the right to criticize that power, especially because its doctrine about salvation leads to serious conflict with other religions, for example, Islam. This program portrayed the doctrine of Jesus as a story borrowed from ancient myths. Consequently, there were harsh protests from the Korean Christian milieu, especially protestants. The author agrees that it is important for the media to critically cover the activities of religious institutions and the behaviors of religious people in the civil society. However, if producers of a documentary want to introduce controversial doctrines of one religion to an audience, they should present the orthodox ones with alternatives or opposing ones, according to the principle of objectivity and fairness of journalism. Since every religion has its mysterious doctrine that cannot be proven by science and reason, journalists should not criticize the sacred part of religion. This paper suggested some ethical points to the media, children of Enlightenment Age, when they cover the religion including its doctrine and mysterious parts.

충북 괴산군-보은군 일대를 따라 발달된 중부 옥천대의 구룡산층과 운교리층 분포지역에서, 기반암에 따른 지하수의 수질특성의 차이를 규명하고자 하였다. 2002년 11월에 18개 지점에서 지하수 시료를 채취하였고, 이를 분석하여 기반암에 따른 지하수의 수질을 분류하였다. 구룡산층 시료와 운교리층 시료 모두 Ca-(HCO$_3$+ CO$_3$) 유형의 수질특성을 보였다. 군집분석의 결과 기반암의 종류에 따라 수질특성이 나됨을 알 수 있었다. 수질 분석결과를 국내 먹는물 수질기준와 비교 하였을때, 질산성 질소 항목만 기준치를 초과하였다. 질산성 질소의 경우, 국내 먹는물 수질기준인 10 mg/L를 초과한 시료는 한 지점이었지만, 인간 활동에 의해 오염된 것으로 여겨지는 2 mg/L이상의 시료는 전체 18개 시료 중 61%인 11개 지점으로 나타나, 이 연구지역에서 인간활동에 의한 질산성 질소의 오염이 진행되고 있음을 추정할 수 있었다.
