미국의 “전국 수학 교사 협의회” (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, NCTM)는 1989년부터<학교 수학의 교육과정과 평가 규준> (1989), <수학 가르침(교수)의 전문성 규준> (1991), <학교 수학의 평가(시험) 규준> (NCTM, 1995), <학교 수학의 원리와 규준> (2000)을 출판하여 미국의 수학 교육의 전망(목표, 나아갈 길)과 규준(실행 지침)을 제시하였다. 수학 교사들로 구성된 미국의 NCTM은 학생, 학부모, 학교 행정가 등 많은 사람들과 힘을 합하여 모든 학생들에게 수준 높은 수학 교육을 받을 수 있는 여건(환경, 기회)을 조성하는 데 구심점의 역할을 하였다. 한편 많은 관련 단체들은 여러 배경과 능력을 가진 학생들이 전문성을 지닌 교사(특수 교사를 일컫는 말이 아니다. 수학 교과를 이해하고 수학의 전문성과 특수성을 가르칠 수 있는 일반 교사를 일컫는 말이다.)로부터 미래를 대비해 평등하고, 진취적이며, 지원이 잘 이루어지고, 공학 도구(IT)가 잘 갖춰진 환경에서 중요한 수학적 아이디어를 이해하면서 학습할 수 있는 수학 교실(미국에서는 우리나라처럼 수학 교사가 수학 시간에 학생의 방(교실: Homeroom)에 찾아가지 않고 학생들이 선생의 방(수학 교실: Classroom)을 찾아온다. 전형적인 수학 교실의 사진은 2쪽에 나와 있다.)을 만들기 위해 함께 힘썼다. NCTM에서 출간한 여러 규준들은 우리나라의 제 6 차와 제 7 차 교육과정에도 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 이 글에서는 NCTM (2000)에서 제시한 학습 원리를 간단히 살펴본 다음 이를 중심으로 현재 미국 수학교육의 교수 ${\cdot}$ 학습 이론의 동향을 살펴본다.

교육정보화의 실현이라는 과제가 현재의 학교현장에 필요한 만큼 제7차 교육과정의 시작과 더불어 학습자의 지식과 능력을 육성하기 위한 미리 계획된 WBI(Web based Instruction)를 기반으로 한 교수 모형의 필요성이 강조된다. 본 연구는 WBI의 교육적 기능을 충분히 반영하여 교실에서 교사가 사용하기 쉽고 효율적인 학습자료를 구현하여 웹 환경이 조성된 교실에서 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 이러한 구현을 위한 프로그램으로는 웹 환경에서 실행하는데 무리가 없고 소용량으로 에니메이션 효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 Flash MX를 사용하였고, 고등학교 ‘수학10-나’의 내용 중 교과서와 칠판만을 사용하여 수업하는 데는 한계가 있는 과정인 ‘도형의 이동과 부등식의 영역’을 주로 개발하였다. 학습자들은 학교에서 수업한 내용을 웹 환경을 이용하여 개별학습 및 반복학습을 할 수 있고, 교사들은 교실이나 멀티미디어실에서 웹을 통하여 본 연구에서 구현한 프로그램을 사용함으로 학교 수업의 효율성을 높이고자 한다.

After the introduction of the 7th revision of curriculum, educational facilities have been requested to change to face new curriculums and have been planned. But, it is actual condition that researches of curriculum and facilities seem to be insufficient. This research will re-establish in an angle of space-syntax based on existed research for home-base area of variation type in high school according to the 7th curriculum. And the each specific character of home-base area representing each type and strong / weak points of area structure of each home-base will be analyzed. And analysis result with the model of variation type in high school visit the on-the-spot inspection result which leads and comparison and with his interview back it leads and currently there is the objective to the evaluation the variation type in high school home-base which is planned regarding the suitable in real use. Each case to the school I visited the scene, not all high schools applied the 7th curriculum courses. Therefore, it is also home-base space capabilities were not being properly utilize. According to 7th curriculum, one of Hall-type home-base and Room-type home-base can be suitable when integration is higher. However, the way the current operational training, it is the best that Distributed-type home-base needs to be included in each curriculum block.

This study aims to establish new architectural agenda for the existing middle school facilities responding to individualized interactive learning approach(IILA). First, it investigates the mechanism of new teaching methods and contents proposed in the national level curriculum and the province guidances. Secondly, it suggests the Quality and Quantity of new (multi-purpose) classrooms that should be built for operating new curriculum in the existing middle schools. Finally, it finally emphasizes the educational specification that should be prepared prior to planning school buildings.

The Ministry of educational science and technology is about to conduct its 7th &8th curriculum. However, there are some problems in achieving its goals under the current class model system in both educational and architectural. This study finds the characteristics of the arrangements and architectural planning in the departmental system - designed high schools. As a result, the arrangement was tend to be 'overall type' or 'central type' depending on the teaching-learning efficiency. Liberal arts and science&technology groups were placed close, and foreign languages and general cultural studies were arranged close as well. Importantly, there were supporting facilities such as a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a library, a computer lab, and an all-purpose-room, and this arrangement provided convenience. It is for the better learning effect and the high efficiency. It is worthy noticing that the placement and formation of individual or study space is regarded importantly. In flow planning, it seemed that it was designed to reduce the users' movement to a minimum. However, there are still some problems compared to Japan or the States, who already has an established departmental system. I think that the government should enforce its necessity of planning to schools, relevant divisions, or architects to bring it up. Furthermore, it is urgently needed a practical and future-oriented study that can forecast any changes in architectural spaces within the ever-changing teaching and learning environment in the information-oriented society.

필자들은 제37회 교육자료전시회(1997)와 제38회 교육자료전시회(1998)에 작품을 출품하였다. 이들 교육자료전시회에 참가하게 된 동기는 다음과 같다. 입문기 아동의 수학교육은 학습내용에 대한 흥미를 가지도록 해야 하며 구체적인 조작활동을 통하여 수량에 대한 기초적인 개념과 원리, 그리고 법칙을 바르게 이해시켜 논리적 사고력을 기르도록 해야 한다. 그러나 대부분의 아동들을 목표수준에서 보면 만족스럽지 못하고, 시간이 지날수록 학습결손아가 늘고 있는 현실이다. 특히 오름길 학습지를 해결할 때는 우수한 아동에게도 조작활동을 시켜보면 뜻밖에 조작 활동을 제대로 못하고 당황하는 경우를 흔히 볼 수 있다. 이것은 개념 형성과 개인간의 차에 관심을 둔 지도가 이루어지지 않은 상태에서, 자기능력과 수준에 맞는 학습을 하지 못하고 다음 단계로 넘어가기 때문이라 판단하였다. 이에 필자들은 교과서에 예시한 활동이나 그림 자료들을 실제로 관찰하고 조작해 볼 수 있도록 구체적인 자료로 대체하여, 수학에서 요구하는 학습지도 원리에 적합하도록 하였다. 또 교실 수업에서 야기되는 개인차에 대한 학습지도상의 문제점을 해결하는 한편, 급우간 인간관계에 바탕을 둔 소그룹 협동 학습을 위한 자료로 수와 가감산의 원리를 쉽게 체득 시킬 수 있도록 하였다.

This study is a basic study to prepare policies related to selecting media to be included in textbooks. Researchers looked at previous studies focusing on how media affect children's and adolescent's emotions according to their developmental stages. Researchers also wanted to identify how the media is related to student emotions, health, and educational effectiveness. The researchers then examined a wide range of domestic media review and rating criteria, and argued that it is necessary to institutionalize the rating system of media at national level policy level. Based on the previous discussion, the researchers made seven suggestions. First, it is necessary to specify media selection criteria in the guidelines for issuing textbooks at the national level. Second, guidelines are needed to help review the political neutrality and human rights aspects of the media for inclusion in textbooks. Third, media selection guidelines in textbooks should be detailed with reference to categories and age based criteria of domestic and foreign media rating system. Fourth, the media rating system should be applied flexibly if there is a clear educational purpose. Fifth, institutional support is needed for setting guidelines for media collection of textbooks. Sixth, media experts should participate in the whole process of textbook development. Seventh, educational programs should be implemented to support teachers to use self directed learning by using educational media in classroom instruction.

With the rapid industrialization and the advent of the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the importance of character education is on the rise. The purpose of this study is to develop the Instructional model that can make the school classroom as a democratic learning community based on general classes and naturally realize the character education in addition to the other subject-matter education. A draft of the instructional model was implemented to confirm that the factors of the character education in mathematics could be improved. The toughness index was measured by using the Character Scale for School Mathematics(CSSM) before and after implementation. Based on the results of the measurement, we completed a P (personal) instruction model and a S (social) instruction model that can enhance the factors of the character education in mathematics based on the democratic learning community through the advisory committee.

The purposes of this study were to develop lesson plans of library assisted practical problem-based teaching-learning for 'life and career planning' unit in high school Technology Home Economics Subject and to compare the learning effect of this lesson plan with that of practical problem-based teaching-learning in class. The change in student's perception about home economics subject was also compared after two types of teaching-learning process. The contents of the high school Technology Home Economics textbooks and curriculum guide book for the year of 2007 curriculum revision were analyzed. Based on these analysis 10 library assisted practical problem-based teaching-learning lesson plans on 'life and carrer planning' unit were developed. The high school students living in Gyeonggi province as an experimental group participated in library assisted practical problem-based teaching-learning. The control group of students who had same condition with the experimental group were taught by same lesson plans in class. After the experiment, the changes in attitudes toward life and career planning and in perception about Home Economics subject were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance. The more significant positive attitudes toward life and career planning were found in the experimental group of students compared with those of the control group of students. And compared with the control group of students, the experimental group of student perceived more positively about characteristics of Home Economics subject. Thus, the following conclusion was made that the library assisted practical problem-based teaching-learning could be one of the useful teaching-learning methods to improve attitude toward life and career planning and perception about Home Economics subject.
