  • Recently, after Wide Area Outage of the North-Eastern United States occurred, many countries started to be concerned about WAMS (Wide Area Monitoring System), and Korean power system also experienced Wide Area outage according to typhoon Mae-Mi, and Haenam-Jeju HVDC line fault. Since it is too difficult to detect a symptom based on SCADA or EMS, a defense system of electric power infrastructure has required. In this research, the designed and developed system processes the time synchronized real time power system information based on GPS and shows the 2D/3D monitoring viewer using the phasor data and the results of three algorithms.

  • 배전자동화용 제어함 축전지 불량상태에서 외부전원 상실시 고장검출(FI) 및 원격조작 등의 자동화 운전이 불가능하여 광역정전 발생우려가 있으므로 이를 개선하기 위하여 축전지상태를 배전자동화 주장치에서 배전자동화 단말장치를 이용하여 온라인 상에서 종합적으로 계측 판단할 수 있는 축전지감시 모듈을 개발하였다.

  • An electric power system sometimes fails because of disturbances that occur unexpectedly, such as the uncontrolled loss of load that developed from cascading blackout. Which make stability through a little of under voltage load shedding should work. The development of phasor measurement unit(PMU) makes network supervision possible. The information obtained from PMU is synchronized by global positioning system(GPS). There are many real-time algorithms which are monitoring the voltage stability. This paper presents the study on the VILS(Voltage Instability Load Shedding) using PMU data. This algorithm computes Voltage Stability Margin Index(VSMI) continuously to track the voltage stability margin at local bus level. The VSMI is expressed as active and reactive power. The VSMI is used as an criterion for load shedding. In order to examine the algorithm is effective, applied to KEPCO system.

  • The zone 3 elements of distance relays play an important role during the propagation of cascaded events. The most challenging problem to mitigate catastrophic failures is to distinguish between actual faults with line flow transfer from other disconnected lines. This paper presents an adaptive protective relaying scheme based on Line Outage Distribution Factor(LODF) and Generation Shift Factor(GSF) to prevent zone 3 tripping during the cascaded events. Internet based secure peer to peer communication is recommended as a communication method of proposed scheme. Several communication issues such as reliability, speed and cyber security are discussed. In order to establish the feasibility of the proposed scheme, computer simulations for a six bus system has been performed.

  • Service restoration following a complete or partial collapse starts with reenergizing a transmission line from black-start generators. Voltage problems can arise from Ferranti effect as unloaded transmission line is reenergized. This Paper presents system analyser to develop for verifying the primary restorative transmission system. The algorithm which has been used in the analyser is to handle load pick-up compensating Ferranti effect. and terminal voltage and reactive capability limitation of black-start generators about self-excitation.

  • This paper presents for service restoration Abstract -in electric power distribution systems. The aim of the service restoration is an emergency control in distribution system to restore out-of service areas as soon as possible when a fault occurs in distribution system. For this reason, this paper presents a new service restoration strategy for multi-outage areas. Proposed algorithm consists of two methods. One is individual restoration scheme, the other one is integrated restoration scheme. The former determines restoration order of outage areas based on restoration index. If the former method can not generate a feasible restoration plan, the latter would try to find new configuration without overloaded section through tie exchange method.

  • 최근 전력산업은 전통산업으로 인식되었던 기존의 틀을 과감히 벗고 IT, NT 테크놀러지와의 기술융합을 통해 혁신과 발전으로 진일보하고 있다. 이와 함께 북미지역을 비롯하여 유럽에서 발생한 광역정전의 영향은 전력계통 안정운영의 중요성을 한층 고조시키고 있다. 이러한 패러다임의 변화로 이기종 전력시스템들이 네트워크로 상호 연결되어 전력계통 데이터의 시스템간 자료교환이 활발해 지고 있으며, 이에 따라 신속하고 정확한 데이터 연계의 중요성이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 한국전력거래소에서 운영하고 있는 EMS(Energy Management System) 시스템의 데이터베이스와 이기종 시스템과의 데이터 송 수신시 필수요소인 자료연계 DB의 작성을 위해 자체 개발하여 활용중인 전력계통 자료연계 DB 동기화 프로그램을 통한 자동화 사례에 관해 소개하고자 한다.

  • The Study is for improvement of power plant equipment environment. Emergency lamp already installed In transformer substations has weak Illuminance. Because emergency battery is limited and incandescent electric lamps installed has low intensity of illumination and bad efficiency. It is too dark to operate many types of equipment in work Therefore this paper proposes that we use fluorescent lamp instead of incandescent electric lamp and change the old illumination standard for evident standard from the can coup with accident rapidly.

  • In this paper it was written about the safety management plan for underground power transmission cable, and it guarantees the reliable electric power supply and facility management to prevent an electric disasters according to that. Recently fires which happens on OF Cable lead to a breakdown of power system and cause a power outage of wide area and serious social problems. So it needs an improvement of inspection ability on OF cable as well as a strict inspection system to prevent that problems in advance and it will bring us the development of electric safety management and the reliable electric power supply.

  • 최근 전력시스템이 점차 복잡해지고 대규모화 되어감에 따라 신뢰도 높은 운영이 어려워지고 그에 따라 세계 여러 나라에서 광역정전이 비교적 자주 발생되고 있다. 전력시스템의 보다 신뢰도 높은 운용을 위하여는 궁극적으로 발전, 송전, 변전 및 배전에 이르는 전 과정에 걸쳐 수평적 및 계층적으로 구성되어 있는 각 설비들의 감시 및 운용시스템들 간에 자율적이고 신속한 정보 교환이 가능하여야 한다. 주로 단순한 시퀀스 제어를 위하여 운용 시스템들 간의 통신수단으로 사용되던 기존의 시리얼 통신 기술은 TCP/IP를 지원하는 광통신 및 무선 네트워크 시스템으로 대치되어 왔고 이를 바탕으로 보다 효과적인 전력설비 및 시스템의 감시 및 제어가 가능하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 SOAP[1] 및 UDDI[2]기술을 바탕으로 하는 표준화된 웹 서비스를 이용하여 전력실비간 정보전달 기법을 소개함으로써 전력시스템의 유비쿼터스 화를 촉진하여 언제, 어디서, 어떤 설비들 간에서도 전력운용정보를 자율적으로 교환하는 것을 가능케 하기 위한 기반기술에 대하여 논의하고자 한다. 네트워크망과XML을 이용한 메타데이터를 바탕으로 전력설비 감시 및 운용 시스템들간의 통신 시스템을 구축하기 위한 확장성과 사용자 편리성을 증대시킨 정보교환 기법에 대하여도 논의하고자 한다.
