국내 광학산업의 발전 방안 - "국내 광산업의 연구개발에서 품질인증 체계의 구축 시급" - 한국 정밀광학기술의 발전방향에 대한 제언

  • 한국 광산업이 충분한 여건을 갖추고 있음에도 불구하고 정밀광학에 진입하지 못하는 요인은 우리 광산업이 수요자의 신뢰를 얻지 못하고 있기 때문으로 생각된다. 정밀광학분야에서 수요자의 신뢰를 얻으려면 연구 개발의 단계에서부터 엄밀한 평가와 공신력 있는 인증체계가 도입되어야 한다. 이를 위하여 ISO 9000, 공학인증, 인공위성 개발체계에서 적용되는 인증체계를 통해 살펴본다면 정밀광학기기의 연구개발, 생산, 검사과정이 문서화되고, 공신력 있는 평가가 이루어져야 하며, 평가의 결과가 제품의 성능향상과 공정개선에 활용되는 순환적인 발전체계가 있어야 함을 알 수 있다.

Review on Design of Underground Mine Openings in Korea and Overseas (국내외 지하광산 갱도설계 현황에 대한 고찰)

  • Some leading countries in mining have a very quantitative guideline for underground mine opening design which is useful to minimize mine hazards such as rockfall and collapse. Those hazards sometimes can cause a huge damage on human life and property in the mines. Construction guidelines of underground mines in Korea consist of qualitative and general expressions although the workers' safety rules and guides are well provided. Recently, mining operations in Korea are going underground due to the environmental regulations and resource depletion at shallow depth, and therefore there is a growing demand on a specialized and systematic guideline for mine opening design securing the underground stability. In this paper, current status of mining industry, research trends, and mining guidelines in Korea and overseas have been reviewed to give an insight into developing a new Korean guideline for underground mine design.

  • 국내 휴ㆍ폐금속광산 주변지역을 대상으로 광산활동으로 인한 독성 중금속 원소들의 주변 환경 유출과정 및 정도를 규명하여 생활에 미치는 환경오염의 가능성을 조사하는 환경지구 화학적 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 이들 중의 대부분은 적절한 환경복원시설이 설치되지 않아, 방치된 광미와 폐석에 의해 주변지역의 환경오염이 발생되는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 국외의 경우 광산활동의 주요한 폐기물인 광미와 폐석에 대한 매립 및 처리 모델 개발, 침출수 관리 등 다양한 환경오염 방지 및 복구 연구가 수행되고 있다. (중략)

  • 정부는 1단계 광산업 집적화 프로젝트를 2003년까지 추진하여 국내 광산업도약의 기틀을 마련하고, 2010년까지는 2단계 프로젝트로서 산업경쟁력 강화시책을 본격 추진해 명실 공히 광산업을 선진국 수준으로 끌러올린다는 단계별 발전전략을 추진하고 있다. 우선 1단계에서는 광주지역을 광산업 집적화 단지로 삼아 한국광산업진흥회, 한국광기술원 설립 등 물리적인 인프라 구축, 요서기술 개발, 인적자원 개발, 정보화 및 시장정보 데티어베이스화, 광관련 중소ㆍ벤처기업지원을 중점 추진하며, 이를 위해 국비, 지방비 및 민자를 포함해 총 4천 20억원을 추입해오고 있다. 이러한 투자는 국내 광산업의 세계시장 점유율을 현재 5%에서 2010년에는 15%까지 끌어올리는 동시에 9만명 이상의 고용효과를 창출을 목표로 하고 있다.

  • Physical models of underground mines are very useful to the design of mine openings and the management of work progress of mining companies as well as to consulting. Even though 3D image realization techniques for mine openings have already been developed by various companies the physical models are still widely used because they can provide better understanding without sophisticated equipments for the most of people. Conventional materials for the physical models are paper and acryl which demand a lot of time and labor to make the model even with low precision and high cost. In this research, 3D printing technique is adopted to develop the physical model with relatively short time, low cost, and proper degree of precision. Finally the computer software "UMine2STL" was developed and verified by comparing the printed product with its design.

  • This study examined and analyzed several mine management software programs developed in domestic and oversea countries. In the oversea countries, many companies have developed and commercialized mine management softwares such as Dispatch, $Cat^{(R)}$ $MineStar^{TM}$ and FARA. These softwares provide many functionalities including real-time machine tracking, machine assignment optimization, productivity management, equipment health monitoring and remote control. For the domestic cases, this study reviewed two software programs (i.e., GEMISIMS, Truck-Shovel fleet optimization) developed by several researchers because there is no mine management software currently commercialized in Korea. In addition, this paper reports the two cases at the Jwaneng mine in Botswana and at the Robinson mine in United States where mine management software programs are used to support mine operations.

  • In recent years, as safety management in underground mines has become more important in the worldwide, mine safety management technologies combining information communication technology such as real-time worker position tracking, monitoring system and equipment remote control have been developed. Wireless communication system is mainly applied to these technologies for the flexibility of network configuration. There are some cases the monitoring system was installed in domestic underground mines, but, it is necessary to develop the technology more suitable for domestic mining standard. In this study, we developed the real-time environmental monitoring system using ZigBee technology and examined the result of application to domestic limestone mine. Furthermore, applicability of the developed environment monitoring system to $VentSim^{TM}$ LiveView was checked. This study is expected to contribute to the related studies like the optimization of the ventilation system in underground mines.

  • The collapse of the underground cavities and voids, which were made for developing mineral resources, can cause the subsidence of the ground surface in the residential areas. During the Japanese colonial era and the 1960's mining boom period, lots of mines had been developed indiscriminately in Korea. Due to complicated geological conditions and mining methods, many of dangerous underground mine cavities with steep slopes had been generated at the shallow surface. Due to such conditions, it is difficult to directly apply valid foreign reclamation practice for the cavities in Korea environments. It is necessary to develop the efficient ground stabilization technologies for the Korea underground mine conditions to solve abandoned mine reclamation properly. Therefore, MIRECO and Korea government have been carrying out practical researches and technical developments together with other academic researchers and reclamation business partners, and various practical solutions such as surveying and exploration methods, proper cavity filling materials and reinforcement methods have been developed with application in the mine field. In this article, up to date technologies and R&D trends in the field of mine subsidence prevention technology are broadly reviewed to establish the future direction of a research and development.

  • 일반적으로 상용되는 광섬유와는 다른 특성인 광민감성의 증가,새로운 비선형 광학특성의 발현,광흡수 및 발광 특성의 인위적 조절,자기광학적 특성등 새로운 기능의 광통신용 특수 광섬유의 개발 및 제조에 독창적인 광섬유 재료 및 제조 공정기술을 보유하고 있는 한원택 광주과학기술원 교수.현재 광주과학기술원 정보통신공학과 광자기술그룹의 그룹장을 맡고 있으며, 초고속 광네트워크 센터의 총괄책임자로 WDM용 광섬유 소자 응용 기술 개발을 주도하고 있다. 광주 광산업 유치 기획사업과 중국 및 러시아의 광기술 협력을 위한 워크샵의 개최와 교류사업등에 주도적인 역할을 했으며 최근에는 WDM용 감쇄기능을 가진 특수광섬유를 개발,옵토네스트에 기술을 이전해주고 있다.
