A Robust Frequency-Domain Multi-Reference Narrowband Adaptive Noise Canceller (여러 개의 참고입력 신호를 사용하는 강인한 주파수 영역 협대역 잡음 제거기)

  • In this paper, it is shown that the performance of the frequency-domain multi-reference narrowband noise canceller is determined by the narrowband component to the broadband disturbance power ratio in the reference signals. To overcome this problem, a new narrowband ANC is proposed, where the update of the adaptive filter is determined based on SNR of the reference inputs being measured using the magnitude squared coherence (MSC) between the primary and the reference signals. Simulation results show that the proposed ANC has superior performance over the conventional one.

Detection Performance for Combining Multiband GNSS Signals in Broadband Jamming Environments (광대역 전파방해환경에서 다중대역 GNSS 신호결합에 따른 검파성능)

  • The detection performances, in this paper, are derived according to combination of the multiband GNSS signals in broadband jamming environments. The detection probabilities depending on the false alarm probabilities are derived and presented via Monte-Carlo simulation under the assumption as follows: the GNSS signals are perfectly orthogonal and simultaneously received by the receiver using non-coherent correlation.

A/D Conversion Module for Dynamic Range Expansion of Wideband Digital Receiver (광대역 디지털 수신기 동적 범위 확장을 위한 A/D 변환모듈 연구)

  • In this paper, an A/D conversion module was designed and fabricated to improve the dynamic range of wideband digital receivers. The A/D conversion module for expanding the dynamic range converts signals into a digital signal by branching the input signal into the normal path and the amplification path according to the input signal level. Test results of the fabricated module show that the normal path of the A/D conversion module converts an input level of -57 dBm to -12 dBm into a digital signal, and the amplification path converts an input level of -30 dBm to +12 dBm into a digital signal without distortion. This translates to an input dynamic range characteristic of 69 dB. Moreover, it is confirmed that the constant output characteristic is exhibited at an instantaneous bandwidth of 100 MHz.

Design and Fabrication of wideband low-noise amplification stage for COMINT (통신정보용 광대역 저잡음 증폭단 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, wideband two-stage amplification stage was designed, fabricated and evaluated. The proposed amplification stage with a novel gain control method have a high gain, low noise and high linearity performance. It is consisted of common emitter amplifier as the first stage, cascode gain control amplifier as second stage and power detector which sense the received signal strength. The proposed amplification stage shows a total gain of 29 dB~37 dB, noise fiugre of 1.5 dB at operating band and high linearity performance as the IMD (third intermodulation distortion) level is below the noise level of the measurement equipment at the control voltage 2.0 V generated from power detector under the strong electric field condition.

  • Mobile broadband wireless network is emerging as one of the hottest research areas due to technical advances, and the demands of users who wish to enjoy the same network experience on the move. In this paper, we investigate the handover process at the medium access control (MAC) layer in an IEEE 802.16e-based system. In particular, we identify problems concerned with the scan initiation Process called cell reselection and propose a received signal strength (RSS) estimation scheme to dynamically trigger a scanning process. We show how the RSS estimation scheme can timely initiate a scanning process by anticipating RSS values considering scan duration required.

  • Recently, ultra wideband(UWB) is emerging as a solution for the IEEE 802.15.3a(TG3a) standard because of its potential to enable high-speed data transmission with low power consumption. One of the submitted systems as s PHY proposal is M-ary biorthogonal keying direct sequence ultra wideband(M-BOK DS-UWB). In this paper, adaptive multiple antenna transmission scheme for achieving high capacity and reliability in M-BOK DS-UWB is proposed. This proposed system can overcome the limitations of STBC and V-BLAST, such as bit error rate performance and throughput.

  • The conventional studies about an adaptive beamformer assumed that the interference signals are stationary, so they used time-average of signals or Least Mean Squares. However, these methods showed low performance of canceling the non-stationary interferences. In this paper, the MAFF-RLS algorithm is developed in order to cancel non-stationary interferences, and the GSC structure using this algorithm is proposed. Furthermore, the performance of the MAFF-RLS beamformer is verified by simulation using MATLAB. This simulation results show the performance of the proposed beamformer is better than that of the SMI and the conventional RLS beamformer.

  • CATV(Cable Television) 및 MATV(MasterTelevision) 시스템용 방향성결합기의 광대역 설계법을 제안한다. 결합선로형 방향성결합기의 이론을 도입하여 그 이론을 변성기형에 적용, 해석법을 확립하고, 제안한 해석법의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션결과 및 실험결과를 비교 검토한다. 그 결과 주파수특성이 반사계수 20dB, isolation 25dB를 만족하는 신호분기기를 5∼2150 MHz까지 광대역화 하였다.

Fast Wideband Active Detection and Doppler Estimation Using the Extended Replica of an HFM Pulse in Active SONAR Systems (능동 소나 시스템에서 HFM 펄스의 확장 레플리카 상관기를 이용한 고속 광대역 능동탐지 및 도플러 추정 기법)

  • In recent SONAR (sound navigation and ranging) systems, wideband active SONAR systems has received more attention than narrowband SONAR systems due to the remarkable detection performance in terms of range resolution. However, the wideband SONAR systems usually requires a huge amount of computational burden in order to achieve their own superiority. To cope with this drawback of the wideband SONAR systems, this paper proposes a fast target detection and velocity estimation method using an extended replica in wideband hyperbolic frequency modulation active SONAR system. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method can be implemented by a highly reduced computational complexity with a little performance degradation in target detection and velocity estimation compared to the conventional filter bank method.

  • In this paper, We proposed a broadband RF amplifier for Microwave band receiver. We also proposed a broadband RF amplifier, designed by using EM simulation for reliable amplification of the received signal. Connected to a source terminal to via, it minimizes those which are the active elements of source-side oscillation as the operating element in an ideal GND, and a constant gain characteristic in a broadband. The goal of this was to obtain stable amplification characteristics. For implementing this architecture, we designed the broadband(500 MHz ~ 7 GHz) RF amplifier by using commercial GaAs FET, which operate on 720 MHz, 4,595 MHz, and 6,035 MHz by impedance matching. The voltage gain is 10.635 dB ~ 14.407 dB(737.5 MHz ~ 6.0575 GHz), P1dB is 20 dBc of band(1st harmonic/2nd harmonic).
