  • Smart phone allows advertisers to estimate customers behavior by selecting user context awareness information and gives users instant feed back about their behavior. Electronic equipments such as smart phone enable advertisers to advertise interesting product for each customers at the point of purchase. In this paper, we deal with the trends of Smart phone and internet based TV in the spotlight as the upcoming advertising media and propose the effective way of advertising, Smart Advertising model, which can give users advertising contents of their interesting product by collecting user context information from a variety of devices including N-screen in smart space. This model will induce modern people who live in flood of advertisements to buy products by providing interesting advertising contents.

  • 문맥광고 또는 컨텍스트 기반 광고란 사용자들이 선택한 웹 콘텐츠 내용을 기반으로 하여 연관성 있는 광고를 자동으로 선택하여 사용자에게 제공하는 광고기법이다. 즉, 웹 사이트를 방문하는 고객을 타겟으로 하여 그들이 찾고자 하는 것과 관련된 광고를 내보냄으로써 효과적인 광고가 이루어지도록 하는 것이다. 그러나 기존의 문맥광고는 사용자가 관심을 가지는 키워드가 아닌 광고주가 선택한 키워드를 중심으로 광고 내용을 선택하기 때문에 사용자의 실제적인 관심이 반영되지 않아 광고의 효과가 떨어지는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 사용자가 웹 콘텐츠를 선택할 때 마다 사용자의 선호도를 동적으로 학습하고, 학습된 선호도를 문맥광고에 활용하는 개인화된 문맥광고를 제안한다. 실험을 위해서 제안한 방법으로 광고를 생성해서 보여주는 웹 브라우저를 구현하여 기존의 문맥광고와 개인화된 문맥광고에 대한 사용자의 평가를 비교하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 개인화된 문맥광고가 ‘콘텐츠의 내용과의 연관성’, ‘사용자의 클릭여부’ 등의 항목에서 기존의 문맥광고에 비해 우수하다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 모바일 광고는 무선 디바이스의 발달로 인해 새로운 광고 수단 및 마케팅 수단이 되었다. 많은 이용자들이 무선 인터넷을 사용하고 있으며, 앞으로도 사용자는 증가할 것으로 보여진다. 그러나 무선 서비스는 단순한 SMS 형태의 서비스가 대부분이며, 이러한 SMS를 수신하는 이용자들은 자신이 원하지 않는 광고성 메시지의 수신 대해 상당한 거부감을 가지고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 광고 중계 모델 "ATPA" (Advertisement Transport Processing Architecture)을 제안한다. "ATPA"는 필터링 기법을 응용하여 고객 지향적인 모바일 광고 시스템으로서 이용자는 자신에게 적합한 광고의 수신하게 하고, 광고주는 이용자의 특성에 따른 차별적인 광고를 제공할 수 있다.

카탈로그에서 활용되는 희소성 메시지의 광고 효과에 대한 연구

  • 정보사회로의 급격한 변화와 소비자들의 편리함에 대한 욕구의 증가로 최근 홈쇼핑은 새로운 유통환경을 창조하며 기업의 마케팅 활동과 소비자의 소비 구매 행태를 크게 변화시키고 있다. 이는 쌍방적 구조로 이루어져 있는 전형적인 직접마케팅 형태 중 하나로 일반 유통 구조와는 색다른 촉진 기법을 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 홈쇼핑의 대표적인 촉진기법 중 하나인 희소성 메시지의 광고효과를 살펴보는 바, 각각의 고/저관여 제품에 있어 두 유형의 희소성 메세지(주문 가능한 제품의 수량을 제한하는 주장, 제품의 주문 가능한 시간을 제한하는 주장)와 희소성 메세지가 포함되지 않은 광고 사이에 광고 효과에 차이가 있는지 비교 분석함으로 희소성 메시지의 광고효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 카탈로그를 통한 실험 연구 결과, 저관여제품이나 고관여제품 모두에서 시간을 한정하거나 수량을 한정하는 희소성 메세지와 비희소성 메세지간에 소비자의 광고에 대한 태도나 광고상표에 대한 태도 및 구매의도에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 단지 시간을 한정하는 희소성 메시지는 유의한 차이를 보였으나 그 차이 역시 미미하였다. 이로써 카탈로그에서는 고관여제품, 저관여제품 모두에서 희소성 메세지의 광고 효과를 확인할 수 없었다. 따라서 카탈로그에서 희소성 메시지는 소비자에게 영향을 미칠만한 광고효과를 창출하지 못하므로 광고 효과를 강화시키는데는 적합한 수단이라고 볼 수 없으며, 희소성 메세지를 활용하는 것은 무의미함을 알 수 있었다. 저관여제품에서 희소성 메시지의 효과가 입증되지 못한 이유는 실험 매체로 이용한 카탈로그 자체가 Krugman(1965)이 주장한 저관여 정보처리 과정을 거치는 저관여 매체이기 때문이라 추측된다. 그리고 고관여 제품의 경우 시간을 한정하거나 수량을 한정하는 희소성 메시지의 비효과성이 입증된 것은 정교화 가능성 모델(ELM)에서 주장되는 연구와 일치함을 의미한다.

  • This monograph was probed effectively by using practical methods in a subjectivity study that was accessible in depth, departing from bygone behavior of functional quantity analysis of awareness and the opinions of young people about the general (public) model of TV advertising. The perception patterns resolved in this study sorted out four types in a Q-methodology. The result is divided as follows: 1 [(N=7): Advertising Consensus Type], 2 [(N=7): Advertising Negative Type], 3 [(N=5): Advertising Purchasing Reduction Type], and 4 [(N=1): Advertising Persuasion Orientation Type]. As such, we found very different types all over. Finally, this study reviews subjective acceptance as to the type of model reception with regard to general TV advertising, offering a developmental suggestion on the issue, and an agenda about it.

  • 본 논문은 디지털방송 컨텐츠(드라마, 영화, 토크쇼)상에서 PPL(Product Placement) 간접광고를 보다 개인화 된 맞춤 광고로 구현한 어플리케이션을 기술한다. 이러한 애플리케이션은 개인의 취향에 최적화된 광고를 제공하고 방송사와 시청자간의 Interaction에 의해 전자상거래가 가능한 채널로 이동할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 다시 말해서 본 논문의 어플리케이션은 컨텐츠 시작 전에 개인이 선호하는 물품을 선택하여 컨텐츠 속에 나오는 PPL광고에서 시청자가 선택한 물품만이 컨텐츠 방영 중에 나타나고, 그 선택 물품의 상세 정보와 구매를 할 수 있는 DAL(Dedicated Advertisers Location)채널로 이동할 수 있도록 하였다. 따라서 시청자 측면에서는 개인화 된 방송 서비스를 이용하여 자신이 원하는 선별된 광고를 보는 효율적이고 능동적인 방송시청을 하게 되며, 방송 사업자 측면에서는 맞춤 방송 서비스로 효과적인 타겟 소비자를 정하여 효과적인 마케팅을 할 수 있다. 그리고 시청한 광고 물품들을 장바구니라는 일종의 북마크에 담을 수 있게 하였다. 시청자가 원할 때는 언제든지 광고된 물품의 T-Commerce채널로 이동 가능하도록 설계, 구현하였다. 이것은 개인화 된 맞춤형 방송과 쌍방향 Interaction이 가능한 새로운 데이터방송의 특성을 잘 보여주는 Interactive 광고로서 새로운 모델이 될 것이다. 본 논문의 어플리케이션(Xlet)은 우리나라 위성방송 데이터방송 표준인 MHP 미들웨어에 의해 구동되어지며, 데이터방송용 API인 JavaTV API, Havi & Davic API에 따라 구현되어졌다.

The Interaction Effect of Foreign Model Attractiveness and Foreign Language Usage (외국인 모델의 매력도와 외국어 사용의 상호작용 효과)

  • Recently, use of foreign models and foreign language in advertising is a general trend in Korea even though the effect has not been well-known..Most of the previous research shows rather an opposite effect claiming marketing communication is more effective when higher congruity between marketing communication and consumer's cultural values are achieved. However, the introduction of global culture due to the expansion of new media such as Internet or cable television makes the congruity not the best choice of marketing strategy. In addition, use of highly attractive models in advertising to increase the effect of advertising is general. However, recent studies show that targeted women audience tend to compare themselves to the highly attractive models and do experience negative sentiment. Bower (2001) proved the difference between 'comparer' and 'noncomparer' when women face highly attractive models. The results show that a comparer who has an intention to compare highly attractive model (HAM) with herself has a significantly negative effect on model expertise, product argument, product evaluation and buying intention. Therefore, HAM is not always a good choice and model attractiveness plays a role in the processing other cues or changing the advertising effect from result of processing other cues. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the use of foreign language on the advertising response of the audience with regard of the model attractiveness. For the empirical study, the virtual advertising using foreign models (HAM, NAM), brand names and slogans(Korean, English) were used as stimuli. The respondents of each stimulus were 75('HAM-Korean'), 75('NAM-Korean'), 66('HAM-English') and 66 ('NAM-English') respectively. To establish the effect of marketing communication, the attitude for media(AM), the attitude for product(AP), targetedness(TD), overall quality(OQ), and purchase intention(PI) with 7 point likert scale were measured. The manipulation was verified to check the difference between HAM attractiveness assessment (m=3.27) and NAM attractiveness assessment (m=5.12). The mean difference was statiscally significant (p<.05). As a result, all consequences were significantly changed with model attractiveness, and overall quality evaluation(OQ) were significantly changed with language. The interaction effect from model attractiveness and language was significant on attitude toward the product(AP) and purchase intention(PI). To analyze the difference, the mean values and standard deviation of consequences were compared. The result was more positive when model attractiveness was high for all consequences. For language effect, the assessment was more positive when English was used for OQ. Considering model attractiveness and language simultaneously, HAM-Korean was more positive for AP and PI, and NAM-English was more positive for AP and PI. In other words, the interaction effect was confirmed by model attractiveness and language. As mentioned above, use of foreign models and foreign language in advertising was explained by cultural match up hypothesis (Leclerc et al. 1994) which claimed that culture of origin effect. In other words, in advertising, use of same cultural language with the foreign model could make positive assessment for OQ. But this effect was moderated by model attractiveness. When the model attractiveness was low, the use of English makes PI high because of the effect of foreign language which supported the cultural match up hypothesis. When the model attractiveness was low, the use of Korean made AP and PI high because the effect of foreign language was diluted. It was a general notion that the visual cues got processed before (Holbrook and Moore, 1981; Sholl et al, 1995) compared to linguistic cues. Therefore, when consumers were faced HAM, so much perception was already consumed at processing visual cues making their native language of Korean to strongly and positively connected with the advertising concept. On the contrary, when consumers were faced with NAM, less perception was consumed compared to HAM, making English to accompany cultural halo effect which affected more positively. Therefore, when foreign models were employed in advertising, the language must be carefully selected according to the level of model attractiveness.

Designing an Intelligent Advertising Business Model in Seoul's Metro Network (서울지하철의 지능형 광고 비즈니스모델 설계)

  • Modern businesses are adopting new technologies to serve their markets better as well as to improve efficiency and productivity. The advertising industry has continuously experienced disruptions from the traditional channels (radio, television and print media) to new complex ones including internet, social media and mobile-based advertising. This case study focuses on proposing intelligent advertising business model in Seoul's metro network. Seoul has one of the world's busiest metro network and transports a huge number of travelers on a daily basis. The high number of travelers coupled with a well-planned metro network creates a platform where marketers can initiate engagement and interact with both customers and potential customers. In the current advertising model, advertising is on illuminated and framed posters in the stations and in-car, non-illuminated posters, and digital screens that show scheduled arrivals and departures of metros. Some stations have digital screens that show adverts but they do not have location capability. Most of the current advertising media have one key limitation: space. For posters whether illuminated or not, one space can host only one advert at a time. Empirical literatures show that there is room for improving this advertising model and eliminate the space limitation by replacing the poster adverts with digital advertising platform. This new model will not only be digital, but will also provide intelligent advertising platform that is driven by data. The digital platform will incorporate location sensing, e-commerce, and mobile platform to create new value to all stakeholders. Travel cards used in the metro will be registered and the card scanners will have a capability to capture traveler's data when travelers tap their cards. This data once analyzed will make it possible to identify different customer groups. Advertisers and marketers will then be able to target specific customer groups, customize adverts based on the targeted consumer group, and offer a wide variety of advertising formats. Format includes video, cinemagraphs, moving pictures, and animation. Different advert formats create different emotions in the customer's mind and the goal should be to use format or combination of formats that arouse the expected emotion and lead to an engagement. Combination of different formats will be more effective and this can only work in a digital platform. Adverts will be location based, ensuring that adverts will show more frequently when the metro is near the premises of an advertiser. The advertising platform will automatically detect the next station and screens inside the metro will prioritize adverts in the station where the metro will be stopping. In the mobile platform, customers who opt to receive notifications will receive them when they approach the business premises of advertiser. The mobile platform will have indoor navigation for the underground shopping malls that will allow customers to search for facilities within the mall, products they may want to buy as well as deals going on in the underground mall. To create an end-to-end solution, the mobile solution will have a capability to allow customers purchase products through their phones, get coupons for deals, and review products and shops where they have bought a product. The indoor navigation will host intelligent mobile-based advertisement and a recommendation system. The indoor navigation will have adverts such that when a customer is searching for information, the recommendation system shows adverts that are near the place traveler is searching or in the direction that the traveler is moving. These adverts will be linked to the e-commerce platform such that if a customer clicks on an advert, it leads them to the product description page. The whole system will have multi-language as well as text-to-speech capability such that both locals and tourists have no language barrier. The implications of implementing this model are varied including support for small and medium businesses operating in the underground malls, improved customer experience, new job opportunities, additional revenue to business model operator, and flexibility in advertising. The new value created will benefit all the stakeholders.

  • The debate surrounding advertising effectiveness is not to be overstated as a major source of advertising research. However, there is still a lack of discussion on the model for measuring the effects of government and public service advertising. This study focuses on this point and develops an index model that can evaluate government advertising. For this purpose, we conducted a survey of 800 respondents in 7 major cities. Based on the creativity evaluation factors (originality, clarity, and appropriateness) of government advertising and the evaluation factors (interest, avoidance, and relevance) of policy contents, a causal model that affects the cognition, attitude, and behavioral responses of the audience was set up. As a result of analysis, originality, clarity, interest, and relevance except for appropriateness and avoidance were meaningful variables for creating government advertising effect such as policy understanding, audience attitude, word of mouth intention of policy. In addition, policy understanding and audience attitude were the main mediating variable influencing the word of mouth intention of policy. Based on research results, this paper discussed the direction for creating effective government and public service advertising in the future.

Advertisement method using VoIP Phone (VoIP를 이용한 광고 방식)

  • This research implemented VoIP phone for Advertisement service that used display(LCD) of internet telephone. If it is advertised using this advertisement service model, We don't make payment printing cost and delivering cost for advertisement. And the advertisement using VoIP phone can deliver to customers in real-time that high grade advertising exposure. The customer can use information about opening and closing store in real-time. Hence, in this paper we suggest more efficient advertisement technique using VoIP phone for Advertisement service.
