Temperature Compensation of NDIR $CO_{2}$ Gas Sensor Implemented with ASIC Chip (ASIC 칩 내장형 비분산 적외선 이산화탄소 가스센서의 온도보상)

  • This paper describes NDIR $CO_{2}$ gas sensor that shows the characteristics of temperature compensation. It consists of novel optical cavity that has two elliptical mirrors and a thermopile that includes ASIC chip in the same metal package for the amplification of detector output voltage and temperature sensor. The newly developed sensor module shows high accuracy ($less\;than {\pm}40\;ppm$) throughout the measuring concentration of $CO_{2}$ gas from 0 ppm to 2,000 ppm. After implementing the calculation methods of gas concentration, which is based upon the experimental results, the sensor module shows high accuracy less than ${\pm}5\;ppm$ error throughout the measuring temperature range ($15^{\circ}C\;to\;35$^{\circ}C$) and gas concentrations with self-temperature compensation.

  • In this paper, some parameters are studied for the performance improvement of a bulk optical magnetic-field sensor. The performance of optical magnetic-field sensor is influenced by optical intensity change and wavelength change of light source, and phase shift so called optical bias mismatch. A magnetic field measuring system based on optical Faraday sensor is implemented and tested in the current range from 10 ampere to 200 ampere. The test result shows implemented system has goof linearity.

  • In this paper, we described the laboratory layout of the optical CT in connection with the measurement of large current based on Magneto-Optic Effects. It was used He-Ne laser for light source and was used PIN-Photodiode for light receiver. The sensing section was organized by winding optical fiber around conductor on the concept that the rotation angle of polarizing axis by Faraday Effect is proportional to the applied current in to conduction. The optical signal passed through optical fiber sensor was induced to analyzer arranged in the direction of $\theta$ for input polarization, and then analyzed its rotation angle and researched on operating characteristics of optical CT for 60[Hz] AC current measurement from l00[A] to 1000[A] was carried out. In this results, the output signals induced linearly with the current and proved that the intensity is increased with increasing turns of fiber through output differences which in accordance with turns of fiber and we verified that there is not only difference of the output with the medium between electric field and optical fiber, but also the lineality. Measuring the references and output intensities of the optical CT, ratio errors were within $\pm$7%. This confirmed that error rate will be improved by each medium and turns.

  • Effect of spectral drift in coherent fiber laser was investigated by injecting optical feedback to Fabry-Perot resonance loop. Er+3 doped fiber laser having unilateral optical feedback loop in Fabry-Perot configuration using two FBGs was fabricated. The optical feedback was found to be effective in linewidth reduction of fiber laser compared to the case without any optical feedback. The linewidth of three fiber lasers using above configuration were measured to be within 3kHz which is resolution-limited performance of self-heterodyne linewidth measurement set-up. The frequency drift measurement using Mach-Zehnder measurement set-up having 200m optical delay-line in one arm showed that the frequency drift rate of optical feedback fiber laser was measured as 300kHz/sec which was better than the case without optical feedback.

Distribution of Magnetic Field Depending on the Current in the μ-turn Coil to Capture Red Blood Cells (적혈구 포획용 미크론 크기 코일에 흐르는 전류의 크기에 따른 자기장 분포 특성)

  • The ${\mu}$-turn coil having a width of ${\mu}m$ on the GMR-SV (giant magnetoresistance-spin valve) device based on the antiferromagnetic IrMn layer was fabricated by using the optical lithography process. In the case of GMR-SV film and GMR-SV device, the magnetoresistance ratios and the magnetic sensitivities are 4.4%, 2.0%/Oe and 1.6 %, 0.1%/Oe, respectively. In the y-z plane the distribution of magnetic field of GMR-SV device and $10{\mu}$-turns coil which put under the several magnetic bead(MB)s with a diameter of $1{\mu}m$ attached to RBC (red blood cell) was analyzed by the computer simulation using the finite element method. When the AC currents of 20 kHz from 0.1 mA to 10.0 mA flow to the 10 turns ${\mu}$-coil, the magnetic field at the position of $z=0{\mu}m$ at the center of coil was calculated from $30.1{\mu}T$ to $3060{\mu}T$ in proportion to the current. The magnetic field at the position of $z=10{\mu}m$ was decreased to one-sixth of that of $z=0{\mu}m$. It was confirmed that the $10{\mu}$-turn coil having enough magnitude of magnetic field for the capture of RBC is possible to use as a biosensor for the detection of magnetic beads attached to RBC.

A Study on the Fabrication of Polarimetric Fiber Optic Current Sensor (편광측정법에 의한 광섬유 전류 센서 제작에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a polarimetric fiber optic current sensor(P-FOCS) is experimented and fabricated, and then a possibility to the commercial utilization of the P-FOCS is also investigated. The P-FOCS measures an applied current by a Faraday rotation linearly proportional to a magnetic field generated by the applied current. The bending-induced linear birefringence in the sensing fiber is minimized by using the low birefringent fiber. Also, all fiber-optic components are used to avoid optical losses coming from the use of bulk components. A signal processing circuit is constructed and used to eliminate the effects of intensity variations in the output signal due to losses coming from misalignments of components such as fiber connectors. Using the optical source of 632.8nm wavelength, Faraday rotation is measured by passing through the sensing fiber within the solenoid of about 1500 turns which is equivalent to a current source of about 7500A. In the range of 1000A to 7500A, the measurement error for linearity is within about 1.5%.

The Design of an Auto Tuning PI Controller using a Parameter Estimation Method for the Linear BLDC Motor (선형 추진 BLDC 모터에 대한 파라미터 추정 기법을 이용하는 오토 튜닝(Auto Tuning) PI 제어기 설계)

  • Servo-motors are used as key components of automated system by performing precise motion control as accurate positioning and accurate speed regulation in response to the commands from computers and sensors. Especially, the linear brushless servo-motors have numerous advantages over the rotary servo motors which have connection with the friction induced transfer mechanism such as ball screws, timing belts, rack/pinion. This paper proposes an estimation method of unknown motor system parameters using the informations from the sinusoidal driving type linear brushless DC motor dynamics and outputs. The estimated parameters can be used to tune the controller gain and a disturbance observer. In order to meet this purpose high performance Digital Signal Processor, TMS320F240, designed originally for implementation of a Field Oriented Control(FOC) technology is adopted as a controller of the liner BLDC servo motor. Having A/D converters, PWM generators, rich I/O port internally, this servo motor application specific DSP play an important role in servo motor controller. This linear BLDC servo motor system also contains IPM(Intelligent Power Module) driver and hail sensor type current sensor module, photocoupler module for isolation of gate signals and fault signals.

그래핀 투명전도막의 전기적 특성에 미치는 Strain 영향

  • 그래핀은 탄소원자로 구성된 원자단위 두께의 매우 얇은 2차원의 나노재료로서 높은 투광도 뿐만 아니라 우수한 기계적, 전기적 특성을 지니며 구조적 화학적 으로도 매우 안정한 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 그래핀을 얻는 방법에는 물리·화학적 박리법, 탄화규소의 흑연화, 열화학기 상증착법(thermal chemical vapor deposition; TCVD)등 많은 방법들이 존재한다. 이중 TCVD방법이 대면적으로 두께균일도가 높은 그래핀을 얻는데 가장 적합한 방법으로 알려져 있다. 한편 그래핀은 우수한 특성들을 기반으로 센서나 메모리와 같은 기능성 소자로 응용이 가능할 뿐 아니라 투명고분자 기판으로 전사함으로서 유연성 투명전극을 제작 가능하여 기존의 인듐산화물(indium tin oxide; ITO) 투명전극을 대체하여 디스플레이, 터치스크린, 전·자기 차폐재 등의 다양한 분야로의 응용이 가능하다고 예측되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 TCVD법을 이용하여 대면적으로 두께균일도가 높은 그래핀을 합성하여 투명 고분자 기판(polyethylene terephthalate; PET) 위에 전사하여 투명전도막을 제작한 후, 압축변형률(compressive strain)의 변화에 따른 전기적 특성 변화를 측정하였다. 그래핀은 300 nm 두께의 니켈박막이 증착된 산화물 실리콘 기판위에 원료가스로 메탄(CH4)을 사용하여 합성하였다. 합성 결과 단층 그래핀의 면적은 약 80% 이상이었으며, 합성된 그래핀은 분석의 용이함 및 향후 다양한 응용을 위하여 식각공정을 통해 산화막 실리콘 기판과 PET기판으로 전사하였다. PET기판 위로 전사하여 제작한 그래핀 투명전도막의 strain 인가에 따른 전기적 특성을 관찰한 결과, 약 20%의 비교적 높은 strain하에서도 전기적특성이 크게 변화하지 않는 것을 확인하였다. 그래핀의 특성분석을 위해서는 광학현미경, 라만 분광기, 투과전자현미경, 자외 및 가시선 분광광도계, 4탐침측정기 등을 이용하였다.

  • u-IT Convergence appliances study and are developed in communication by development of u-IT technology, broadcasting, portal, contents, equipment and all fields of business such as solution. This treatise presents valuation basis of, economic performance, administration sex etc. by temperature, pressure, own, storehouse, gas, justice for humidity sensors and valuation basis that define u-IT Convergence, and sense information u-IT Convergence devices and terminal. Also, studied standardization standard of u-IT Convergence network appliance that follow in valuation basis for u-IT Convergence devices. Is going to contribute establish value as estimation product that equip stability and authoritativeness through correct certification assessment for technological development and appliances on Ubiquitous information-oriented society through this research and accomplish standardization.

  • Near-infrared (NIR) absorbing dyes have been applied to various applications such as optical filters, biotechnology, energy storage and conversion, coating additive, and traditionally information-storage materials. Because image sensors used in cellphones and digital cameras have sensitivity in the NIR region, the NIR cut-off filter is essential to achieving more clear images. As energy storage and conversion have been important, diverse NIR absorbing materials have been developed to extend the absorption region to the NIR region, and NIR absorbing materials-based research has proceeded to improve device performances. Adding NIR-absorbing dye with a photo-thermal effect to a self-healable coating system has been attractive for future mobility technology, and more effective self-healing properties have been reported. In this report, the chemical structures of representative NIR-absorbing dyes and state of the art research based on NIR-absorbing dyes are introduced.
