  • This paper presents the intelligent tracking algorithm for maneuvering target using the positional error compensation of the maneuvering target. The difference between measured point and predict point is separated into acceleration and noise. Fuzzy c-mean clustering and predicted impact point are used to get the optimal acceleration value. The membership function is determined for acceleration and noise which are divided by fuzzy c-means clustering and the characteristics of the maneuvering target is figured out. Divided acceleration and noise are used in the tracking algorithm to compensate computational error. The filtering process in a series of the algorithm which estimates the target value recognize the nonlinear maneuvering target as linear one because the filter recognize only remained noise by extracting acceleration from the positional error. After filtering process, we get the estimates target by compensating extracted acceleration. The proposed system improves the adaptiveness and the robustness by adjusting the parameters in the membership function of fuzzy system. To maximize the effectiveness of the proposed system, we construct the multiple model structure. Procedures of the proposed algorithm can be implemented as an on-line system. Finally, some examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • It is not efficient to install a maintenance system that measures seismic acceleration and displacement on all bridges and buildings to evaluate the safety of structures after an earthquake occurs. In order to maintain this, an on-site investigation is conducted. Therefore, it takes a lot of time when the scope of the investigation is wide. As a result, secondary damage may occur, so it is necessary to predict the safety of individual structures quickly. The method of estimating earthquake damage of a structure includes a finite element analysis method using approved seismic information and a structural analysis model. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the seismic information generated at arbitrary location in order to quickly determine structure damage. In this study, methods to predict the ground response spectrum and acceleration time history at arbitrary location using linear estimation methods, and artificial neural network learning methods based on seismic observation data were proposed and their applicability was evaluated. In the case of the linear estimation method, the error was small when the locations of nearby observatories were gathered, but the error increased significantly when it was spread. In the case of the artificial neural network learning method, it could be estimated with a lower level of error under the same conditions.

  • This paper is a study on improving the accuracy of control points by suggesting angular requirements which make geometric conditions to be optimum. For this purpose, a equation, by which the accuracy of control point coordinates measured in an arbitrary station can be estimated, is derived. This equation is integrated and average standard error of the coordinates is computed, so that the optimum location of observatory station is determined. In the case of triangulation, a regular triangle has been generally considered as the best geometric condition, but because the precision of each side is different, the $52.77^{\circ}$ isosceles triangle is founded to be the best one. Also in trigonometric leveling, the geometric condition is founded to be optimum when the base angle of a isosceles triangle is $45^{\circ}$. In control surveying for close-range photogrammetry the optimum relation between base length($B_0$) and object distance($D_0$) can be founded to be as follow; $D_0=0.357587-0.357967B_0+0.308555B_0{^2}$.

  • In the three-dimensional analysis and deformation analysis of large structures, efficient is the use of the multiple method of close range photogrammetry which approaches the object distance. This study analyzes the influence of errors according to the overlap, the control points, and the object distance, to solve the problems which are raised in the multiple method. A wall-board, 7 meters by 3 meters, was used as a test field on which a total of 225 unknown points were equally disposed. The photographs with changing the overlap and object distance were taken by P-31 camera system. a total of 143 negatives are used in this study for computing 3-dimensional coordinates and its standard errors, and bundle adjustment of strips and blocks developed with on-line system is applied. In case of decreasing the number of control points, simulation error increases but actual error decreases and increases again. Due to the changed of object distances Z error represents largely compared to X, Y error, but good results in Z can be obtained by increasing the redundancy. And simulation error or actual error shows best results at the endlap of about 70%. To sum up this study, approprate arrangement of control points and overlap is meaningful, and multiple method by short object distance will be widely used to precision and deformation analysis of critical structures.

  • It is well known that a single moving camera video is capable of extracting the 3-dimensional position of an object. With this in mind, current research performed image-based monitoring to establish a floating structure model using a camcorder system. Following this, the present study extracted frame images from digital camcorder video clips and matched the interest points to obtain relative 3D coordinates for both regular and irregular wave conditions. Then, the researchers evaluated the transformation accuracy of the modified SURF-based matching and image-based displacement estimation of the floating structure model in regular wave condition. For the regular wave condition, the wave generator's setting value was 3.0 sec and the cycle of the image-based displacement result was 2.993 sec. Taking into account mechanical error, these values can be considered as very similar. In terms of visual inspection, the researchers observed the shape of a regular wave in the 3-dimensional and 1-dimensional figures through the projection on X Y Z axis. In conclusion, it was possible to calculate the displacement of a floating structure module in near real-time using an average digital camcorder with 30fps video.

  • GNSS/Geoid positioning technology allows orthometric height determination using both the geoidal height calculated from geoid model and the ellipsoidal height achieved by GNSS survey. In this study, Network-RTK surveying was performed through the Benchmarks in the study area to analyze the possibility of height positioning of the Network-RTK. And the orthometric heights were calculated by applying the Korean national geoid model KNGeoid13 according to the condition of with site calibration and without site calibration and the results were compared. Simplex algorithm was adopted for liner programming in this study and the heights of all Benchmarks were calculated in both case of applying site calibration and does not applying site calibration. The results were compared to Benchmark official height of the National Geographic Information Institute. The results showed that the average value of the height difference was 0.060m, and the standard deviation was 0.072m in Network-RTK without site calibration and the average value of the height difference was 0.040m, and the standard deviation was 0.047m in Network-RTK with the application of the site calibration. With linearization method to obtain the optimal solution for observations it showed that the height determination within 0.033m was available in GNSS Network-RTK positioning.

  • The ionosphere in accordance with solar activity can affect the transmission of radio waves. The effect of the ionosphere on the radio wave propagation are scattering of radio waves, attenuation, angle error, ranging error, and time delay. The present study is based on the Korean ionospheirc data obtained at the AnYang Radio Research Laboratory from January 1985 through October 1989. The data are analyzed to show the daily and the annual variations of the ionosphere. The data are also used to simulate the density distribution of the Korean ionosphere following the Chapman law.

  • In this article, we investigate a robust friction compensation scheme for the purpose of accomplishing precision positioning performance a servo mechanical system with nonlinear dynamic friction. To estimate the friction state and tackle robustness problem for uncertainty, a RFNN and reconstructed error compensator as well as a robust friction state observer are developed. The asymptotic stability of the series of friction compensation methodologies are verified from the Lyapunov's stability theory. Some simulations and experiments on a servo mechanical system were carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

  • Fine displacement of spherical suface was detected and analyzed by Twyman-Green interferometer and the interferogram analysis using Fourier transform method. The surface profile was obtained from single interferogram by introducing the carrier freguency to the interferogram. The interferogram was processed in the spatial frequency domain by fast Fourier transform, and the phase distribution was obtained by inverse Fourier transform. The 3-dimensional distribution for the surface displacement was obtained. It was compared with the calculated surface displacement and the error was less than λ/10.
