The Effects of Unplugged Flowchart Learning on Computational Thinking (언플러그드 순서도 학습이 초등학생의 컴퓨팅 사고력에 미치는 영향)

  • The necessaries of Flowchart learning for software education have been discussed but most studies were conducted on learning methods. In this study, Unplugged Flowchart Learning programs for fifth grade students were developed and taught, and their effectiveness were analyzed. The programs were made of 8 themes(16 periods) based on the learner's levels. The effectiveness of the programs were qualitatively analyzed based on classwork sheets, as well as observation and interview. Computational Thinking tests were pre-tested and post-tested for qualitative analyses. This study found that all sub-areas of CT of the students who took the Unplugged flowchart learning program were significantly improved as well as the overall scores of CT. In particular, students' improvements in the area of abstraction and automation was notable. Various interactions between teacher-learners and learners-learners were observed during class, and were found to have positive effects on changes in learners' attitudes and perceptions.

An Analysis of Interaction Patterns by Teacher's Role in Mathematics Classrooms (수학교실에서 교사의 역할에 따른 상호작용 패턴 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between teacher's role and interaction patterns in mathematics classrooms. Teacher's role was divided into usual practices with students, usual practices with content and usual practices with students and contents, and interaction patterns were classified into report, inquiry and discussion. The subjects in this study were teachers and students in three fourth- grade classes in T elementary school located in Seoul. After the classes of every math teacher were observed, three teachers who played distinctively unique roles were selected in accordance with the results of the first-semester autonomous supervision, of open class for parents and of the instructional observation. Thus, there was a close relationship between the teacher roles and interaction patterns. And it's concluded that students are able to have a more discussion on each other's ideas in the student-centered classroom, and that teachers should perform active roles in that process. Given the findings of the study, there are some suggestions: First, the teachers appeared to fulfill consistent roles when their videotaped classes, study aids and performance assessment materials were analyzed, and they should play more active roles in mathematics class. Second, they should try to create the kinds of climate that encourages students to come up with ideas in an active manner. Third, earlier studies had focused on student-teacher interaction patterns, but this study found that the roles of the teachers depended on interaction with not only students but study aids and performance assessment materials, and that the interaction patterns hinged on their roles as well. Therefore more profound research efforts should be directed into this issue.

Observational Motor Skill Learning in Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (지적장애인의 관찰적 운동기술 학습)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of video modeling observational learning intervention on the learning and performance of a bowling skill in adolescents with intellectual disabilities. Thirty special middle school students whose ages ranged from 14 to 16 years were recruited from Daegu, Korea. Intellectual disabilities of the participants were assessed by Korean version of the Wechsler intelligence scale for adolescent and a social maturity scale. During the experiment, participants repeatedly watched the one-minute action observation film for three minutes before beginning each frame and played 60 frames. Statistical comparisons were performed using a 2 (groups) ${\times}$ 6 (trials) ANOVA, with repeated measures on the last factor of the acquisition stage (p<0.05). Factors of the retention stage scores were analyzed by one-way ANOVA. The sources of any significant main effects were tested using a Tukey's HSD (honest significant difference) approach. SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical analyses. The performance scores of the action observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group. The findings showed that observational learning in the form video modeling has the potential to enhance acquisition and learning of a bowling sport skill in intellectual disability individuals; however, these findings are limited to adolescents with moderate intellectual disabilities.

Correlation between High School Students' Observation Abilities and Changes in Their Cortisol Hormone during Biology Observation Activity (고등학생의 관찰 활동에서 나타난 관찰능력과 코르티솔 호르몬의 상관관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between high school students' observation ability quotient and changes in their stress hormones while observing fruits. This experimental study was performed with 29 first-year female high school students in a metropolitan city. In order to measure the observation ability quotient, an appropriate scientific observation program was developed. In observation program, the subjects carried out observations in an open and autonomous environment and recorded their observations. Their saliva samples were extracted before and after the task so as to analyze the amount of the secreted hormone. Also, their observation ability was measured using the quotient equation of observation ability. And then, in order to investigate the relationship between the observation ability and the cortisol hormone, a correlation analysis was performed. The main results are as follows: First, the amount of learner's hormone secreted during the experiment decreased in overall after the free observation. And the observation ability quotient turned out to be significantly correlated to the cortisol hormone.

교수학적 상황론에 입각한 효과적인 극한지도

  • 본 논문은 고등학교 교육과정상에서 학습자들이 오류를 범하기 쉽고, 어려워 하는 극한에 대해 보다 효과적인 지도방법을 제시한다. 현실적으로 교수활동은 교실이라는 공간에서 일정한 수업시간동안에 교사와 학습자와의 관계속에서 이루어진다. 그 속에서 학습자들은 주변의 세계를 관찰함으로써, 혹은 추측과 반박을 통해 시행착오적으로 사고함으로써 혹은 모순, 어려움, 불균형을 일으키는 주위환경에 동화 ${\cdot}$ 조절을 함으로써 자신을 적응시켜 가면서 학습하게 된다. 따라서 교수학적 의도가 미비한 환경은 학습자에게 획득하기를 기대하는 학습을 할 수 없게 한다. Brousseas의 교수학적 상황론에 근거하여 교육의 현장인 교실에서의 교사와 학생간의 상호작용에 따른 교수-학습의 중요성에 초점을 둔 본 논문은 Freudenthal의 역사발생적 원리에 의한 극한의 정의와 학습자의 오류수정을 위한 교수학습 전략으로 Lakatos의 발견술을 제안하였다. 또한 극한 개념에 대해 실생활에서 학습자에게 쉽게 동화 ${\cdot}$ 조절이 일어날 수 있는 학습 방법을 제안하였다.

A Learning Model for Improvement in Learning Mathematics through Cooperative Group Activities in High School (활동중심의 협력학습을 통한 고등학교 수학수업의 개선사례 연구)

  • Today most of Korean students have no interest in mathematics and lack of confidence in it due to the burden of the college entrance examination, which often results in a failure or a dropout in mathematics in school. Therefore there is a need to diagnose the true causes and to find out a solution. As one of these solutions this study has developed and applied a learning model based upon cooperative group activities for the improvement of mathematical power to classroom. For developing this learning model a variety of research methods are used; questionnaires, observation, and analysis of the interview materials. After the application of this learning model, a lot of positive results in mathematics class have been observed.

  • 웹 에이전트는 사용자가 좀 더 손쉽게 웹 상의 정보를 얻을 수 있게 하는 것을 목표로 하는 인터넷 정보 검색 도구이다. 본 논문에서는 개인용 웹 에이전트 시스템에서 적합성 피드백(Relevance Feedback)에 의해 사용자의 취향을 학습하는 방법을 제시하고, 실험을 통하여 제시된 적합성 피드백에 의한 학습 방법이 사용자의 취향을 성공적으로 학습함을 보였다. 적합성 피드백을 혼용할 때와 각각 한가지만 사용할 때로 나누어 실험하였으며, 피드백이 진행되면서 검색결과의 정확도가 변화하는 정도를 관찰하였다.

An Analysis of the Problems of Experiment and Observation in Elementary Science Instruction (초등학교 과학과 실험 및 관찰 수업 사례에서 나타난 수업의 문제점: 도시 지역의 수업 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the problems of elementary science instruction, especially in experiment and observation, and suggest the directions to improve current elementary science instruction in terms of teaching methods and strategies. Data from instructions implemented by 7 elementary teachers were used to extract the problem of elementary science instruction. According to the results of instruction observation, such problems as follows are identified: 1) shortage of discussion regarding results of students' activities, 2) insufficiency of interactions among teacher-student/student-student, 3) shortage of guidance for students on observation, 4) absence of explanation on apparatus, 5) teachers' insufficient knowledge on science, 6) inappropriate use of teacher-made worksheets. Desirable directions for the improvement of present elementary science instruction were proposed.

  • 단위 시간 동안 이루어지는 교수-학습 활동이 이루어질 때, 교육적으로 추구하는 최선의 목표는 학습자가 정해진 목표를 달성하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 학습자가 수업에 실제로 참여하는 시간을 확보하는 일은 무엇보다도 중요하다. 학습과 관련성이 없거나 높지 않은 여러 가지 변인들로 인해 학습자의 학습 시간이 침해받는 일을 최소화하기 위한 해결 방안 수립이 필요한데, 시간과 인력을 불필요하게 동원하지 않으면서 빠른 시간 내에 원하는 결과를 관찰할 수 있는 시뮬레이션의 활용이 효과적이다. 시뮬레이션 모델 정립을 통해 학습자의 실제학습시간(Academic Learning Time)을 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 한다

Prefrontal Activations and Picture Recognition of Same, Different, and Word-Studied Pictrues : a fMRI study (그림 재인에 관여하는 뇌 활성화 연구 : 동일 그림, 변형 그림, 및 단어 학습 그림의 인출 과정에 대한 fMRI연구)

  • 기억의 인출에 관여하는 전전두엽의 역할을 연구하기 위해 지각적 친숙성 정도가 다른 재인 조건을 비교하고, 이에 관여하는 뇌의 활성화 양상을 fMRI로 측정 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 동일조건; 그림으로 학습하고 동일한 내용의 다른 그림이 재인 단서로 주어지는 조건, 교차 조건; 단어로 학습하고 내용이 일치하는 그림이 재인 단서로 주어지는 조건이 비교되었다. 재인 수행(회상율, 정확도)은 동일 조건에서 가장 높앗으며 교차 조건에서 가장 저조하였다. 동일 조건 동안 양측 두정엽에서 가장 유의미한 활성화가 관찰되었으며, 상이 조건동안은 좌측 구조물들(Insular, 중 전전 두엽, hippocampal gyrus, 하두정엽 등)에서 활성화가 관찰되었다. 교차조건에서는 활성화가 좌우 시각 영역 및 두정엽의 연접부위 및 전두엽의 백질 부위(superior longitudinal fasciculus)에서 관찰되었다. 이는 그림의 인출과정에 우측 전두엽이 필수적인 것이 아니라, 인출에 수반되는 하위 정보처리 과정에 따라 다른 뇌 영역이 관여하고 있음을 시사한다. 예를 들어, 좌측 insular, 좌측 하 전전두엽에 의해 매개된 lexical processing이 상이한 그림의 재인과정에(상이조건), 시각피질과 좌측 전전두엽의 상호작용이 시각적으로 제시되었던 단어를 그림 단서로 인출하는 과정에(교차조건) 관여하고 있을 가능성을 시사하고 있다.
