A Technique for Generating Semantic Trajectories by Using GPS Positions and POI Information (GPS 이동 궤적과 관심지점 정보를 이용한 시맨틱 궤적 생성 기법)

  • Recently, semantic trajectories which combine GPS positions and POIs(Point of Interests) become more popular in order to expand location based services. To construct semantic trajectories, the existing algorithms exploit the extent information of POIs described as polygons and find overlapping regions between GPS positions and the extents. However, the algorithms are not applicable in the condition where the extent information is not provided such as in Google Map, Naver Map, OpenStreetMap and most of the open geographic information systems. In this paper, we provide a novel algorithm to construct semantic trajectories only with GPS positions and POI points but without POI extents.

  • This paper is to develop tourist destination storytelling strategy using popular culture contents. Place is the result of meaning construction process. Especially discourse plays an important role in the social construction. Discourse generally consists of printed materials, auditory discourse, and visual discourse. For social construction of a tourist destination, discourse may be supplied by the media, or the tourist. In the tourist destination storytelling's view, strategies are composed of extending of tourist destination mania, circulating nostalgia for tourist destination, developing experience circumstances of popular culture tourist destination, making tourism story networks, making tourism storytelling process, and cultivating tourism experts of popular culture.

Event Message Processing in Virtual Environment Using the Extended Area of Interest Model (확장 관심영역 모델을 이용한 가상공간 이벤트 메시지 처리기법)

  • How to process event message traffic efficiently is important to collaboration among multiple distributed users, and it is a key research issue in the virtual environment fields. AOI model is one of solutions for this problem; which reduces message traffic by restricting event propagation region into an area in which a user is interested. However, in previous systems, it is difficult to adapt to dynamic environment where changes in the number and movement of participants are frequent. This paper proposes a new event management model, called extended AOI model, which is helpful to improve flexibility and efficiency of traditional models, and is able to extend its functions by introducing multi-layered regions. The proposed model can be applied to DVE and MMORPG as an event filtering model.

  • In image coding applications such as web browsing and image database searching, it is very useful to quickly view a small portion of the image with higher quality. Region of interest (ROI) coding technique provides the capability to reconstruct the ROI in advance of decompressing the rest of the image, with a smaller number of transmitted bits compared to the case where the entire image is treated with the same priority. In this paper, a progressive ROI coding method using the enbedded coder is presented, and an efficient transmission method for the ROI information. Experimental results show that the proposed progressive ROI coding technique can be effectively used for image coding applications such as web browsing and image database searching system.

A Study on Pre Service Teacher's Information availability and Concern & Perception of Coding Education for Young Children (예비유아교사의 정보활용능력과 코딩교육에 대한 관심도 및 인식에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigated of the pre service teacher's information availability and concern and perception of coding education for young children. The subjects were 230 pre service teacher attending a A college micro politan city Questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis with SPSS Program. The results were as follows: First, the pre service teacher's information availability was smart phone usage levels that the most of all and the next was computer usage levels. Concern of coding education for young children that consequence concern was the highest and the next that collaboration concern, personal concern, information concern, refocusing concern, management concern. The other side unconcerned was most of least. Perception of coding education for young children that necessity perception, content perception, environmental perception was the over of mean. But operational perception was the low. Second, The information awareness, smart phone usage levels as each domain of information ability, usefulness of use was positively associated with Personal concern. But the information ability were negatively correlated with management concern. The information awareness was associated with necessity of coding education. The useful and ease of use of education were positively associated with content coding education.

  • An analysis of the case study was reported to pioneer the perceptions of teachers, students, and parents for the educational use of tablet computers. The findings showed that the amount of learning, various learning activities, interest, and motivation of learners increased and that the teachers perceived the potentiality of the tablet computer and the necessity of a training for designing mobile-based instructions.

  • 쿠폰은 마케팅의 주요 전략 중 하나로 널리 이용된다. 그러나 적시적소에 제공되지 않는 쿠폰은 대부분 버려지게 된다. 본 논문은 사용자가 관광지의 어떤 관심지점에 근접했을 때, 해당 관심지점이 발행한 쿠폰정보를 능동적으로 알려주는 시스템을 개발한다. 이를 위하여, 쿠폰발행자와 이용자 등록 시스템, 쿠폰발행자의 쿠폰정보와 해당 관심지점 정보를 등록하는 시스템, 이용자들의 현재 위치를 인지하는 시스템, 이용된 쿠폰정보를 기록하는 시스템 등을 구현하였다.

A study on Middle-aged Women's Concern of Appearance and Buying Behavior of Cosmetics - With Special Reference to Women in their Fifties in the Kyungnam Region - (중년여성의 외모관심도 및 화장품 구매행동에 관한 연구 -경남지역의 50대여성을 중심으로-)

  • Korean middle-aged women, who are securing economic stability of their own along with the national economic growth, have had much concern in their outward appearance. Especially, middle-aged women's concern of appearance triggered by their various social/leisure activities and appreciation of aesthetic sense leads to the interest in their outward appearance, thus naturally stimulating their purchasing sentiments. This paper attempts to identify the level of middle-aged women's concern of appearance and analyze how this level of concern affects their behavior in purchasing cosmetic products. Our analytical findings include: 1. From the t-test and distributional analysis of points of each factor on the group, the high-interest type 1 (108 persons) and low-interest type 2 (91 person) in terms of 'concern of appearance' turned out to exist. 2. Five factors of cosmetics-purchasing behavior were derived that are fashion-leading type, compulsive buying type, brand-dependent type, pondering type, planned buying type and loyal-to-brand type. 3. Cosmetics-purchasing behavior varied according to the subjects' level of concern of appearance.

  • Mecenat is a company support to cultural and artistic activities. It has developed as not only a patronage of the arts but also a strategic method for a business performance and a company's influence. And mecenat has impacted on customers, interested parties, local communities, and corporate culture. This study analyzes how individual and organizational interests and participation on Mecenat activities affect organizational trust, commitment, and loyalty. As a result of surveys from 438 employees, there would be a pro rata increase in an employee's interest and participation in Mecenat, if organizational interest goes up. The interest also affects trust in organization, organizational commitment, and employee loyalty in a positive method. The result clearly indicates necessity of company's support for cultural and artistic activities and importance of changing company's perspectives. Hence companies would be recognized that supporting Mecenat activities would strengthen organizational culture.
