A Study on Customer Experience with Food Truck Services: Focusing on Topic Modeling Techniques (푸드트럭 서비스 이용객 경험에 관한 연구: 토픽모델링 기법 중심으로)

  • The food truck business, which involves selling various types of food from mobile vehicles, has gained significant popularity in urban centers and at events. These food trucks have rapidly expanded due to their relatively low initial investment and high flexibility, attracting customers with unique menus and personalized services. However, as competition increases, the need to manage service quality to boost customer satisfaction and encourage repeat visits has become more critical. Despite this growing importance, there has been limited empirical research on the topic. This study aims to analyze customer experiences with food truck services to gain strategic insights for improving service quality. By applying structural topic modeling to customer review data, the study identified 50 key topics. The process included a comprehensive evaluation of model diagnostics and interpretability to determine the optimal number of topics, ultimately selecting the most relevant ones related to service experiences. The impact of these identified topics on overall customer satisfaction was empirically tested using regression analysis. The results showed that aspects such as "Food Taste," "Friendly Staff," and "Positive Emotion" had a positive influence on customer satisfaction, whereas "Delayed Service," "Negative Emotion," and "Beverage Service" had a negative impact. Based on this analysis, the study proposes concrete methods for food truck operators to systematically analyze customer feedback and use it to drive service improvements and innovation. This research highlights the importance of data-driven decision-making in small business environments like food trucks and contributes to expanding the application of topic modeling in the service industry.

A Study for Sustainable Development of Rural Tourism through Comparisn between Visitors and Potential Visitors (농촌관광 방문경험자와 잠재방문자의 비교분석을 통한 지속가능한 농촌관광개발 전략에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic materials for working out differentiated marketing strategies appropriate to the visitors and potential visitors of rural tourism for the sustainable development of rural tourism. The study was conducted through a questionnaire survey fur 500 adults aged 18-year-old or older residing in downtown Seoul, and the characteristics of the visitors and potential visitors of the rural tour were analyzed through frequency analysis and logistic analysis. The analysis results are summarized as follow. In many cases, they obtained information on the rural tourism chiefly through mass media and decided their participation after listening to the stories of nearby people or visitors. The survey showed that the estimated necessary expenses of the potential visitors were more than actual ones of the visitors. It was analyzed that the reception attitude of residents was a factor to have the most significant effect on the participation of rural tourism, while necessary budget for potential visitors.

An Exploratory study on the Value Preservation of Bukhansan National Park (북한산 국립공원의 가치보전에 관한 탐색적 고찰)

  • This study is to solve the problems arising from preserving the value of Bukhansan National Park as a precious tourism resource in South Korea. In order to effectively examine the value of preserving the resource, some cases of foreign countries having advanced skills and experiences in managing their national parks are examined so as to apply them to managing Bukhansan National Park. With this developed preserving method, this study mainly focuses on inducing the ways how to permanently maintain its value. Furthermore, some solutions for the problems through analyzing the current situation of Bukhansan National Park are suggested with additional proven opinions of serveral specialists interviewed. As a result, this study is expected to contribute on preserving the value of Bukhansan National Park which is one of the greatest properties in Korea.

Study on the Experience of Accidential Losses by Restaurant Customers - Focused on the Opinions of Hospitality Majored Respondents - (레스토랑 고객의 서비스피해경험에 대한 연구 - 호텔 ${\cdot}$ 외식 관련 전공자의 의견을 중심으로 -)

  • This study investigated legal environments on customers' experiences of accidential losses in a restaurant service. A wide review of the cases showed that restaurant customers' experiences of accidential losses are classified into 11 types as follows; loss of personal belongings with posted warning, loss of personal longings without posted warning, injuries in a restaurant with posted warning, injuries in a restaurant without posted warning, injuries while eating, food poisoning, injuries from defective tablewares, allergic reactions, illegal or unsanitary food supplies, and false labeling of countries of origin. The results of this exploratory study revealed that the respondents had experienced some out of those 11 incidents in average 2.6 times in all of their restaurant visits, and the incidents frequently happened in independent restaurants rather than in fast-food establishments, family restaurants, or hotel restaurants. The results also showed that the accidents from illegal or unsanitary food supplies was happened most frequently and false labeling of countries of origin was mostly anticipated increasing in the future.

  • This research introduces a case of NFC (Near Field Communication)-based exhibition support system for analyzing visitors' POB (Point of Behavior) data gathered from the system. The application of NFC technology to an exhibition space allows visitors new experiences of exposition and exhibitors to collect and analyze data about behaviors of visitors. The NFC-based exhibition support system is applied to the 'Korea Travel Expo 2013.' The visitors' behaviors are analyzed based on collected NFC tag touch data and association rules among booths are extracted. Furthermore, the tag touch data are integrated with the survey data for catching the demographics-based implications.

Alternating Development Strategies in Jeiu Island, Korea (제주도 발전 전략의 교호적 변화)

  • Islands are vulnerable to outer influences due to their small size and isolation. Tourism often becomes an important development focus because of their unique culture and nature. Jeju-do, as well as other islands, has experienced such development mostly led by central government, and the regional change was understood as the outcome of global influences without much concern with the local response or strategy. Thus, vulnerability has been the key theme in island development studies. This paper examines the current state of island development as an outcome of locals' alternating strategy in which the islanders accept the central government's plan, but express their demands to modify them. It is reflected in the electoral preference for ruling or oppositional parties, local movements against central government's development plans, and the spatial organization of tourism sites from a few growth centers to more dispersed, balanced development. These suggest that the current state of island development is not derived from unidirectional global forces, even if islands are peripheral. Rather, it is the outcome of an alternating strategy of Jeju locals accepting the central government development plans while managing them for local benefits.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of cultural tourism festival's experiential elements on brand value and festival image. The object of this study was the participants of Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival. 260 questionnaires were distributed and analyzed 251 collected questionnaires with SPSS18.0. The results of this study are summarized as followings. First, cultural tourism festival's experiential elements influences brand value, and playfulness, placeness and deviation among the variables of experiential elements positively influence. Second, uniqueness, contents, and functionality of variables of brand value positively influence festival image. It showed that when the organizer offered exciting experiential program which the participants didn't experienced, it influenced brand value and festival image more positively.

  • Previous research on smartphone has been focused on personal performance, accessibility, and information gaps in information system quality. In order to analyze the relationship between the use of smartphone information and personal characteristics, this study conducted a survey of 300 tourists at Jeju Airport, by using three variables of self-efficacy, 'impulsiveness and demographic variables (age, sex, education level, etc.) of smartphone use with personal characteristics. In conclusion, self-efficacy and impulsiveness seem to be positively related to the use of smartphone because it seems to be a living environment in which the desired information can be acquired within a desired time. In addition, there seems to be a difference between a mobile native environment in which online and offline boundaries are always connected and an environment in which 40 to 50 digital literacies are connected. This can be interpreted as a result of additional analysis.

  • In the global era, the tourism industry is a major profitable business, and the state and local governments are making various efforts to provide quality tourism experiences. The purpose of this study in a variety of tourism contents is to study barrier-free subway services in line with the global era, and to expand from the existing rapid, safe, and ordered transportation to the provision of high-quality comfort and all-round service experiences. This study compared and analyzed the subway service systems of Korea, China and both countries through the service design method, and presented a barrier-free subway service system to improve the user's satisfaction with the subway service system by improving the user's service experience. As a result, research results showed that 20 attractive quality attributes in 17 fields, such as convenience facilities, language issues, security equipment, and riding environment, play an important role in improving the quality and experience of subway services. In addition, through the construction of a Service Spatial Scenario, an optimized subway service system can be visualized to help understand this so that it can be used as a reference for creating a strategic application.

  • The purpose of this research is to prove a possibility which contributes the globalization of Korean dining and its potential in perceptions from international visitors about images of LOHAS they have. The main study results as follows. There were three subordinate concepts; health, eco-friendly, and substantiality. Second, perceived value noticeably affected the satisfaction of korean restaurant. respectively, the satisfaction of korean restaurant also noticeably affected customer loyalty. This research suggested academic implications of contributable view on foodservice management and tourism study based on the result from Japanese visitors with their Perceived value and domestic restaurant customer loyalty toward Korean dining LOHAS. This study also suggests the implication of the globalization of Korean dining and taking a position as a supporter of the globalization plan from korean dining foundation. Additionally, this study intended to present capable contribution based on the results of study with related proposals of globalization of Korean dining, Korea in-bound tour, and its interagency.
