A Class Diagramming Tool for Visualizing the Latest Revision of Software Change History (소프트웨어 변경 이력의 최근 변경을 클래스 다이어그램으로 가시화하는 도구)

  • Software visualization can assist developers to understand a software system and change its code. The recent development of bottom-up visualization tools demonstrates the advantages by revealing the code that is directly related to a software evolution task. However, the information provided by these tools is limited to the code already investigated by the developers in that task session. To broaden the scope and provide the code information that developers should explore, we propose to present the latest revision of a software system via a class diagram. When a developer clicks on a button, the proposed tool reveals the code changes committed to a configuration management system, and facilitates the understanding of code changes. We also conduct case studies illustrating the advantages of the proposed tool.

  • 슈퍼컴퓨팅인프라구축사업의 필요성은 슈퍼컴퓨터가 엄밀한 정확도를 요구하는 초미세 반도체 설계, 신물질 설계 및 항공우주 산업분야로부터 거대한 기상정보 예측 등 다양한 첨단과학 분야의 연구개발에 필수 장비라는 사실에서 비롯된다. 세계 각국은 슈퍼컴퓨터를 과학기술 발전과 국가 경쟁력 확보의 전략요소로 인식하여, 슈퍼컴퓨팅, 네트워킹, 첨단 응용 및 가시화장비 등을 상호 연계한 국가(또는 지역별) 슈퍼컴퓨팅 인프라 구축을 강화하고 있다. 미국은 1990년 초부터 HPCC (고성능 컴퓨팅 및 통신) 프로그램에 매년 10억불 규모의 예산을 지속적으로 투자하여 왔다.

Development of a Set of an Experimental Equipment of Westerly Wave for High School (고등학교에 적합한 편서풍 파동 실험장치 개발)

  • Due to a lack of reproducibility and visibility of the conventional equipment for westerly wave simulation, it is difficult to have indoor experiments at high school that show the stream of Hadley cell. A modified improvement of the old one improves the problem. The side wall and bottom of the new equipment is made by copper and acrylic resin, respectively, in order to clarify the difference between the water temperature inside and outside of the water tank. The equipment also has a high quality digital record for generating exact analysis of the results. And we also carried out several experiments that relate theoretical and experimental aspection of westerly wave. Temperature Detected Sheet (TDS) in flow visualization unit provides not only visual information of liquid flow, but also clear understanding of the relation between upper and lower wind flow structure. And the liquid stream simulated in indoor experiment using proposed equipment is commensurate with westerly wave in real atmosphere. The efficiency of educational properties of the proposed equipment is verified indirectly by Likert Scales survey of high school teachers.

  • Today, it is very important issue to high quality of software issue on huge scale of code and time-to-market. In the industrial fields still developers focuses on Code based development. Therefore we try to consider two points of views 1) improving the general developer the bad development habit, and 2) maintenance without design, documentation and code visualization. To solve these problems, we need to make the code visualization of code. In this paper, we suggest how to visualize the inner structure of code, and also how to proceed improvement of quality with constructing the Tool-Chain for visualizing Java code's inner structure. For our practical case, we applied Object Code with NIPA's SW Visualization, and then reduced code complexity through quantitatively analyzing and visualizing code based on setting the basic module unit, the class of object oriented code.

Multi GPU Based Image Registration for Cerebrovascular Extraction and Interactive Visualization (뇌혈관 추출과 대화형 가시화를 위한 다중 GPU기반 영상정합)

  • In this paper, we propose a computationally efficient multi GPU accelerated image registration technique to correct the motion difference between the pre-contrast CT image and post-contrast CTA image. Our method consists of two steps: multi GPU based image registration and a cerebrovascular visualization. At first, it computes a similarity measure considering the parallelism between both GPUs as well as the parallelism inside GPU for performing the voxel-based registration. Then, it subtracts a CT image transformed by optimal transformation matrix from CTA image, and visualizes the subtracted volume using GPU based volume rendering technique. In this paper, we compare our proposed method with existing methods using 5 pairs of pre-contrast brain CT image and post-contrast brain CTA image in order to prove the superiority of our method in regard to visual quality and computational time. Experimental results show that our method well visualizes a brain vessel, so it well diagnose a vessel disease. Our multi GPU based approach is 11.6 times faster than CPU based approach and 1.4 times faster than single GPU based approach for total processing.

  • A literature analysis for the planning and implementation of information system was carried out to establish the oceanographic R&D results, the first in Korea. The study targeted from scientific & technical report and to oceanographic survey data. The focus of the analysis lies in the providing practical information retrieval service for oceanographic R&D results based on the framework of effective Dublin Core metadata. The analyses included information system organization, web information service process, data input-output process, web visualization process, and retrieval for planning and implementation of oceanographic survey data and scientific & technical report.

  • Information visualization, generally speaking, consists of three steps: transform from raw data to data model, visual mapping from data model to visual structure, and transform from visual structure to information model. In this paper, we propose a visual mapping method from spatiotemporal table information, which is related to events in large-scale building, to 3D map metaphor. The process has also three steps as follows. First, after analyzing the table attributes, we carefully define a context to fully represent the table-information. Second, we choose meaningful attribute sets from the context. Third, each meaningful attribute set is mapped to one well defined visual structure. Our method has several advantages. First, users can intuitively achieve non-spatial information through the 3D map which is a powerful spatial metaphor. Second, this system shows various visual mapping method applicable to other data models in the form of table, especially GIS. After describing the whole concept of our visual mapping, we will show the results of implementation for several requests.

  • In todays environment in which scientific technologies are changing very fast than ever, companies have to monitor and search emerging technologies to gain competitiveness. Actually many nations try to do that. Most of them use Dephi approach based on experts review as a searching method. But experts review has been criticised for probability of inclination and its derivative problems in the sense that it is accomplished only by expert's subjectivity. To overcome such problems, we used Scientometric Method for identifying emerging technology that had been done by Delphi as a rule. We made three particular efforts in order to improve the Quality of the result. Firstly, we selected one alternative database between SCI and Scopus hoping to see evenly-distributing results in wide fields on the front burner. Secondly we used Fractional citation counting in counting citation number in the stage of linear regression analysis. Lastly, we verified Scientometric result with experts opinions to minimize probable errors in a Scientometric research. As a result, we derived 290 emerging technologies from Scientometric analysis with Scopus Database, and visualized them on 2-dimension map with data mining system named KnowledgeMatrix which was developed by KISTI.

  • 오늘날 슈퍼컴퓨팅은 급격히 진화하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 고성능 슈퍼컴퓨터의 다양한 과학적 융합 서비스와 관련한 가시화의 중요성을 인식하고, 이와 관련하여 융합 서비스에서의 소비자 프라이버시 침해 우려에 대한 문제를 제기한다. 이를 위하여, 슈퍼컴퓨팅 및 소비자 프라이버시에 대한 문헌연구를 하였고, 프라이버시 계산 모델을 이용한 연구의 필요성과 소비자들로 하여금 프라이버시 정책에 대한 인식의 중요성, 금전적 보상에 따른 개인정보의 긍정적 제공이라는 3 가지의 방안을 제언하였다.

Real-Time Terrain Visualization with Hierarchical Structure (실시간 시각화를 위한 계층 구조 구축 기법 개발)

  • Interactive terrain visualization is an important research area with applications in GIS, games, virtual reality, scientific visualization and flight simulators, besides having military use. This is a complex and challenging problem considering that some applications require precise visualizations of huge data sets at real-time rates. In general, the size of data sets makes rendering at real-time difficult since the terrain data cannot fit entirely in memory. In this paper, we suggest the effective Real-time LOD(level-of-detail) algorithm for displaying the huge terrain data and processing mass geometry. We used a hierarchy structure with $4{\times}4$ and $2{\times}2$ tiles for real-time rendering of mass volume DEM which acquired from Digital map, LiDAR, DTM and DSM. Moreover, texture mapping is performed to visualize realistically while displaying height data of normalized Giga Byte level with user oriented terrain information and creating hill shade map using height data to hierarchy tile structure of file type. Large volume of terrain data was transformed to LOD data for real time visualization. This paper show the new LOD algorithm for seamless visualization, high quality, minimize the data loss and maximize the frame speed.
