The coast has been known as very vulnerable area. This area has nature disasters such as typhoon, tidal wave, flood and storm almost every year. In this study, coast vulnerable area information management system was developed to manage the coastal facilities and vulnerable area through Web GIS. This system is able to visualize the damage area and support the official work related to coast as efficient DSS(Decision Supporting System). Moreover, the foundation for domestic coast information management is expected by acquiring less cost and time. For this, GIS DB was first constructed by acquiring damage factor data such as typhoon, tidal wave, flood and storm. Then GIS analysis methods and high resolution satellite images are used to possibly present the results of retrieve as table, map, graph, inundation simulation in real time.
Abstract Graph drawing is constructing a visually-informative drawing of an abstract graph. Symmetry is one of the most important aesthetic criteria that clearly reveals the structures and the properties of graphs. However, the problem of finding geometric symmetry in general graphs is NP-hard. So the previous work has focused on the subclasses of general graphs such as trees, outerplanar graphs, series-parallel digraphs and planar graphs. In this paper, we analyze the geometric symmetry on the various interconnection networks which have many applications in the design of computer networks, parallel computer architectures and other fields of computer science. Based on these analysis, we develope algorithms for constructing the drawings of interconnection networks which show the maximal symmetries. We also design and implement Interconnection Network Drawing System (INDS) on WWW which supports the various drawings including the conventional drawings and our suggested symmetric drawings.
Entering the 21st century, the demand on information service via mobile devices is skyrocketing along with the popularization of computers and mobile communication devices and the rapid development of wireless communication technology. In particular, as mobile device service such as LBS and Telematics becomes highlighted, the management of mobile devices is ever more drawing attention. However, since there is no fixed standard on geographical space data, many commercialized monitoring systems do not use common geographical space data but independent geographic information. Furthermore, as it is impossible to save location information of each mobile device by integrating such information after acquiring them, it is difficult to trace management. Therefore, in this paper, geographic data with DXF. DWG and SHP format, which are commonly used files, were created and visualized by GML format, OGC standard advice. And then, TMS(Trace Monitoring System of Mobile Device) that can trace and manage information after acquiring and saving space information that show the movement of users was implemented.
Several empty-space leaping methods have been proposed for CPU-based volume ray casting. When sample points are located in semi-transparent cells, however, previous leaping methods perform unnecessary resamplings even if the scalar values on those points are confined within transparent range. A semi-transparent cells leaping method for volume ray casting using the Marching Cubes algorithm is proposed to solve this problem in our previous work. When a ray reaches a semi-transparent cell, our method performs in-out test between current sample point and the bounding box enclosing the triangles generated by the Marching Cubes. If the sample point lies on outside of the bounding box, we estimate the point is regarded as transparent. In this case, the ray advances to the next sample point without performing a resampling operation. We can frequently refer the tables for neighboring voxels, however, when we exploit conventional data structures of the Marching Cubes. We propose modified Marching Cubes tables for solving this problem.
Brain gene expression information is closely related to the structural and functional characteristics of the brain. Thus, extensive research has been carried out on the relationship between gene expression patterns and the brain's structural organization. In this study, Principal Component Analysis was used to extract features of gene expression patterns, and genes were automatically classified by spatial distribution. Voxels were then clustered with classified specific region expressed genes. Finally, we visualized the clustering results for mouse hippocampal region gene expression with the Allen Brain Atlas. This experiment allowed us to classify the region-specific gene expression of the mouse hippocampal region and provided visualization of clustering results and a brain atlas in an integrated manner. This study has the potential to allow neuroscientists to search for experimental groups of genes more quickly and design an effective test according to the new form of data. It is also expected that it will enable the discovery of a more specific sub-region beyond the current known anatomical regions of the brain.

The usage of the land is enlarged with above-surface space and sub-surface space as well as surface, as the concern about the land use is increased because there are many factors like the recent development of the science technique, Rapid increase of the population, Rapid city's diffusion, industrialization. According to the cubicalness of the land usage such as these, We have the limit to register the right-objects in space like various buildings and facilities by present registration method of 2D cadastre registration because of 2D registration object. Thus, it is necessary for plan to register an ownership, other privilege relations and the physical objects like various buildings and facilities established on both surface and space. There are two steps in this study. First step is the necessity of 3D cadastre registration and object analysis of cadastre registration, second step is 3D cadastre division and its visualization. Finally, this study will present the realizable model for a 3D cadastre registration.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of long-term endurance exercise or resistance exercise training on muscle anabolic/catabolic pathway. 50wks-old male Wistar rats(n=30) were randomly assigned for 3 groups (sedentary, endurance exercise, resistance exercise group). After 12-week of training, plantaris muscles were dissect to measure protein level. Akt/mTOR signal-related proteins were significantly increased only after resistance exercise training, but catabolic signal-related proteins, FoxO1 and MuRF1, were significantly decreased after resistance and endurance exercise training. After endurance exercise training, AMPK and PGC-1α protein levels were significantly increased. Therefore, the endurance exercise training has been shown to affect the protein balance of aging muscle through inhibition of muscle protein catabolism. The present results suggest the possibility that not only resistance exercise but also endurance exercise will be affectable to keep or increase muscle volume and capacity of middle-aged people.

In this paper, we studied the techniques to analyze the flying safety area focused on the air base rules for military that has been the criteria of the altitude restrictions around the airfield for both civilian and military purposes in Korea. We wanted to present the effective method to analyze the restricted area and to help solving problems that could result recently from the altitude restrictions around the airfield at the beginning of the development projects. To do this we proposed the methods to effectively generate the model of the flying safety area in accordance with the air base rules using 3D GIS techniques and to automatically identify the obstructions caused by the natural and man-made features in those areas. To apply the proposed methods actually to the airfield chosen for the study area, we presented the approaches to generate geospatial informations based on the commercial digital maps and satellite imagery and by generating the flying safety area model, identifying the obstructions, and visualizing the integrated model for the flying safety area analysis we showed the practical usability of the proposed techniques.
Complex traits are determined by the combined effects of many loci and are affected by gene networks or biological pathways. Systems biology approaches have an important role in the identification of candidate genes related to complex diseases or traits at the system level. The gene network analysis has been performed by diverse types of methods such as gene co-expression, gene regulatory relationships, protein-protein interaction (PPI) and genetic networks. Moreover, the network-based methods were described for predicting gene functions such as graph theoretic method, neighborhood counting based methods and weighted function. However, there are a limited number of researches in livestock. The present study systemically analyzed genes associated with 102 types of economic traits based on the Animal Trait Ontology (ATO) and identified their relationships based on the gene co-expression network and PPI network in cattle. Then, we constructed the two types of gene network databases and network visualization system (http://www.nabc.go.kr/cg). We used a gene co-expression network analysis from the bovine expression value of bovine genes to generate gene co-expression network. PPI network was constructed from Human protein reference database based on the orthologous relationship between human and cattle. Finally, candidate genes and their network relationships were identified in each trait. They were typologically centered with large degree and betweenness centrality (BC) value in the gene network. The ontle program was applied to generate the database and to visualize the gene network results. This information would serve as valuable resources for exploiting genomic functions that influence economically and agriculturally important traits in cattle.
Multi-modality image registration is a widely used image processing technique to obtain composite information from two different kinds of image sources. This study proposes an image registration method based on moment information and surface distance, which improves the previous surface-based registration method. The proposed method ensures stable registration results with low registration error without being subject to the initial position and direction of the object. In the preprocessing step, the surface points of the object are extracted, and then moment information is computed based on the surface points. Moment information is matched prior to fine registration based on the surface distance, in order to ensure stable registration results even when the initial positions and directions of the objects are very different. Moreover, surface comer sampling algorithm has been used in extracting representative surface points of the image to overcome the limits of the existed random sampling or systematic sampling methods. The proposed method has been applied to brain MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and PET(Positron Emission Tomography), and its accuracy and stability were verified through registration error ratio and visual inspection of the 2D/3D registration result images.
