  • 21세기는 지식정보사회다. 지식정보화 사회에서 정보과학영재와 정보과학영재의 판별방법에 대한 연구는 꼭 필요함에도 불구하고 미미한 것이 현실이다. 영재와 정보과학영재에 대해서 여러 학자들의 의견을 바탕으로 정의하고, 수학, 과학 영재아의 판별사례를 살펴보고 이것을 바탕으로 정보과학 영재아의 영재판별을 위해 초등 컴퓨터교과의 단계 및 영역을 바탕으로 초등정보과학영재의 판별의 원칙, 절차, 검사방법을 에 대한 판별방법을 살펴보았다.

  • 본 논문에서는 영재와 정보과학영재에 대해서 여러 학자들의 의견을 바탕으로 그 개념을 정의하고 수학, 과학 영재아의 특징, 판별사례 및 판별절차를 살펴보고 이것을 일반화하여 초등 정보과학영재의 영재판별 원칙, 판별요소, 판별절차를 제안하였다. 제안한 판별절차에 따라 초등학생을 대상으로 직접 적용했으며, 적용에 의해 선발된 영재집단과 수학 과학성적이 우수한 일반집단과의 비교를 통한 검증도 해 보았다.

  • The researcher conducts the following research to correctly identify the gifted children of science information. First, the researcher makes sufficient theoretic research on gifted children for the sake of definition and identification of the gifted children of information science, and reconstructed the identification principles, factors and procedures of the gifted children of information science on the basis of those of the gifted children of math and science the theories of a number of scholars and presented new methods of identifying new gifted children of information science. Second, the researcher set the identification procedures of the gifted children of information science and the relevant content and conducted the identification of gifted children through the observation and evaluation of sixth graders through three stages. Third, the researcher compares and analyzed the selected gifted children based on the identification procedures and ordinary groups of students excellent in math and science in terms of task achievement and looked into validity.

New index for the gifted students(G-Index) with EEG analysis (뇌파검사 자료를 기반으로 한 과학영재 판별 지수(G-Index) 개발과 적용)

  • In this study we investigated the adequacy of tools for distinction gifted students through the comparison these mutual relation on the basis of data, like paper test, the depths interview score, and the rest data((TTCT: Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking, IQ test, FASP: Find A Shape Puzzle, V.T: Visualization Tests and Exp: experimental ability test), and analysis data of EEG test for examining the adequacy of tools for identification gifted students. So, we developed Brain Wave gifted Index(G-Index) for finding another distinction ability as using brain waves data. The standard of index development use gifted brain characteristic in closed-eyes rest state which is judged like that characteristic of distinction between gifted and normal students is the most clear and consistence. That is, the degree of unified pattern between each object and gifted PCA pattern was defined by Pearson method which added spatial mutual index to weight concept. This refer to mean number of spatial PCA pattern. Searching for the possibility of distinction gifted gave distinction effect in 76%. The result of regression analysis on the basis of mutual relation between the rest data is . The probability formula for distinct gifted group is as follow. $$P=\frac 1{1+e^{-[-0.018(TTCT)+0.057(IQ)+1.916(FASP)+0.682(V.T)+0.088(Exp.)+0.034(G-Index)-57.510]}}$$ The result of this calculation showed that probability for distinct in gifted group was very good(95.0%). On the basis of upper result, tools for identification gifted students should be estimated as using many-sided estimation data whatever possible. And following study about development, and operation of tools for distinction suitable to gifted student in science should be progressed.

  • 영재는 그 다양한 특성으로 인하여 객관적인 판별도구를 개발하는 것에 한계가 있으며 판별절차에 관한 학자들의 이론도 다양하다. 특히 고도의 창의적인 능력을 나타내는 수학 영재아의 경우에는 더더욱 그러한 면이 심하다고 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 인천과학 영재교육센터에서 실행했던 중등 수학영재선발과정에 대하여 살펴보고 이에 대한 문제점을 검증함으로써 앞으로 더 발전된 수학 영재아의 판별을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

과학창의적 과제 수행 중 과학영재와 일반아의 뇌파 비교분석

  • 본 연구는 과학영재교육의 중요성이 증대되고 있는 현 시점에서 이의 효과적인 성취를 가져오기 위해선 우선 영재 판별의 시도가 다양해져야 한다는 필요성에서 출발하였다. 그 동안 영재 판별은 주로 인지수행의 결과적인 측면을 다루었다고 본다면, 본 연구는 인지수행의 과정적인 측면을 다루었다고 할 수 있다. 인지수행의 과정적인 측면은 뇌기능의 활동성을 파악하는 것으로 가능하다. 따라서 뇌의 활동성에 대한 뇌파측정 방법을 통해 좌.우뇌 기능상에서의 뇌파특성을 파악해 보므로써 영재성 판별의 한 방법으로서 그 가능성의 단초를 제공하는데 본 연구의 주목적이 있다. 이를 위해 영재성 판별 및 뇌기능 연구방법과 뇌의 정보처리과정에 대한 이론적인 고찰을 바탕으로 초등학교 4-6학년 아동 중 과학영재아 11명, 일반아 10을 연구대상으로 선정하여 PC용 뇌파측정기를 통해 이들의 뇌파특성을 분석한 결과, 다음과 같이 나타났다. 다음 표는 과학영재아 및 일반아의 아무런 과제를 수행하지 않은 상태의 기본뇌파와 과학 창의적 과제를 수행중인 상태에서의 뇌파를 좌뇌와 우뇌의 뇌파 활성도별로 그 차이를 분석한 것이다.

  • Since the science of information is appearing no less important than mathematics and natural science as our society is rapidly becoming information-oriented, the necessity to distinguish prodigies of this field and to educate them as early as possible is also being emphasized. Unfortunately, however, the pertinent study is still in its beginning stage. In this study, I have reviewed the character, definition and method to distinguish prodigies and the procedure of developing a test, as well as researching and analyzing the proper process of distinguishing prodigies, through theoretical contemplation on the method of distinguishing the gifted children. Also, I have characterized and defined the information prodigies after clarifying the character of 'Discrete Mathematics' which becomes the basis of the science of information, paving the way to make a test method that can distinguish those information prodigies. As a result of our applying the system by using the distinction test, it turned out that the distinction test was pretty reliable. Accordingly, it can be utilized as a significant distinction test for information prodigies in the forthcoming future.

The Validity of Teacher Nominations for the Selection of Scientifically Gifted Students (과학영재 선발을 위한 교사 추천의 타당성 분석)

  • As the validity issue of teacher nominations for the identification of gifted students has been raised recently, this study purports to test the validity of teacher nominations for selecting scientifically gifted students. As the criterion variables, domain specific traits such as science creative problem solving skills and science attitudes and domain general characteristics such as divergent thinking skills, creative attitudes, intrinsic motivation, and leadership were analyzed. Scientifically gifted students, potentially gifted students who had never been enrolled in gifted programs but were nominated as the scientifically gifted by teachers, and general class students participated in the study. The results of ANOVA showed that there were significant differences in all variables but originality factors of the TTCT and science creative problem solving skill test between gifted/nominated students and general class students; gifted/nominated students were significantly superior in these variables to general class students. The discriminant functions analysis yielded a discriminant function that significantly discriminated between gifted/nominated and general class students. Variables loaded on the discriminant function were science creative problem solving skills except for the originality subfactor, and science efficacy. These results imply that while teachers are likely to consider adaptation-oriented academic excellency related to logical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and science performance when nominating students, they may ignore the innovation-oriented property which is indicated as the fluency and originality factors of TTCT. Also, the criteria of teacher nominations are presumed to be congruent with the selection criteria of the gifted education program which pursued academic excellency as the educational goal. This suggests that with such criteria, high performing students in the science area can be sufficiently identified by teachers with no further identification procedures or/and tests.

A Research on the Relationship between Creativity, Thinking Skill, and Academic Achievement and the Identifying Reference of the Gifted Students in Math and Science (수학·과학 영재성 검사에서 창의성과 사고력 및 수학·과학 학업성취 간의 관계와 영재판별 준거 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the proper identification method of the gifted students in math and science. The subjects were 6,237 students from 3rd to 7th graders. The subjects took nation-wide tests which were made for identifying the gifted students. The tests were composed of creativity, thinking skill, and academic achievement in math and science. The results of this study were as follows; First, creativity and thinking skill were positively correlated with the academic achievements. Specially, the academic achievement of science was positively correlated with the all of the sub-factors of creativity and thinking skill variables. Second, the influential power of each variable differed depending on the identification methods. Also, group 1, which was considered all variables such as, creativity, thinking skill, and academic achievement, was the most proper way to identifying the top 1% students from the subjects. These results implies the variables of creativity, thinking skill, and academic achievement have to consider identifying the gifted students in math and science.

정보과학 영재교육을 위한 학생선달과 교육내용

  • 일반적으로 영재교육을 실시함에 있어서 가장 먼저 선행되어야 할 것은 영재아 판별기준을 정해 학생선발과정을 운영하는 것과 실제 가르칠 교육내용을 구체적으로 정의하여 교재를 개발하는 것이다. 특히, 최근에 각광받고 있는 정보과학 분야의 영재교육에 대한 연구는 이제 시작단계에 불과하여 서로 다른 이론적 근거와 주관적인 기준에 따라 전국의 과학연재교육센터들을 중심으로 다양한 논의가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 아주대학교 과학영재교육센터에서 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 3학년까지의 학생들을 대상으로 운영되고 있는 정보과학 영재교육 프로그램을 자세히 소개함으로써, 앞으로 정보과학 분야의 영재교육을 위한 구체적인 영재판별기준과 학생선발절차는 물론 체계적인 교육과정 및 교과목의 개발을 위한 하나의 실례로써 소개하고자 한다.
