대학과 생명교육

  • 대학에서의 생명교육은 대학의 체질을 개선함으로써만 가능하다. 가장 바람직한 방향은 대학의 전통적 정신과 제도를 현대의 사회.문화적 조건 아래서 재발견하고 소화하여 이 기초 위에 현대의 모든 새로운 과학, 기술, 방법들을 수용하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대학은 강연을 되찾아야 한다. 학문의 공동체이어야 한다. 연구와 교수의 기능으로 새로워져야 한다. 연구와 교수의 질 제고를 위해 대학은 작아야 한다. 행정과 경영으로부터 자유로워져야 한다.

  • 최근 분자모델링을 이용한 신물질설계기술 (Computer Aided Material Design)이 재료과학이나 생명과학분야의 획기적인 성공사례를 통하여 신물질개발연구에 실제적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 매우 효율적인 방법이라는 인식이 보편화되었다. 최근 미국, 유럽 등 기술선진국에서는 신제품 개발시 기존의 실험적인 연구가 아닌 모델링 방법의 분자설계기술을 이용하여 신약이나 기능성 첨단소재 등의 개발로 엄청난 부가가치를 창출하고 있다. 과학적 기반이 열세이고, 사업기술의 수준이 상대적으로 중간적 지위에 있는 우리나라는 신물질 및 신제품 개발을 위한 첨단기반기술의 확보가 다가오는 21세기 국가산업경쟁력 제고에 필수적이라는 인식 아래 분자설계 개발연구센터는 산업자원부의 기술혁신센터(Technology Innovation Center)로 지정받아 컴퓨터 모델링을 이용한 화학신소재 분차설계기술 보급에 힘쓰고 있다. 산업체에 첨단기술 보급을 위하여 기술혁신센터를 운영하고 있으며 또한, 초고속정보망기술지원실에서 정보통신부의 지원으로 올해 '3차년도 초고속응용기술지원사업'을 수행하고 있는 숭실대학교 분자설계연구센터의 소장인 노경태 교수를 찾아보았다.

An Analysis of Pre-service Science Teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge through the Student-Teacher Practice (교육실습을 통한 예비과학교사의 교수내용지식 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze pre-service science teachers' pedagogical content knowledge. For this study, two senior education students were selected. The data of this study were collected through interviews, CoRe questionnaire, and classroom observation recordings during the period of student-teacher practice. Data were analyzed using the constant comparative method. The results indicated that the two pre-service science teachers had low level pedagogical content knowledge. Two pre-service science teachers' knowledges of science curriculum were different from each other. Orientations toward teaching science shifted to undesirable direction after the experience of a student-teacher's practice-teaching. Their subject matter knowledges were imperfect. They also had low levels of knowledge of students' understanding.

An Analysis of Cases of Real-time Online Class Design by Pre-service Science Teachers (예비 과학 교사의 실시간 온라인 수업 설계 사례 분석)

  • This study aimed to analyze cases of online class design by pre-service science teachers to identify the teaching strategies employed for online classes. For this purpose, the real-time online class lesson plans of 12 pre-service science teachers, who had experienced education utilizing online teaching tools for a semester, were collected and analyzed. The pre-service science teachers considered all the elements that were essential in traditional face-to-face class designs, including prerequisites, statements of learning objectives, stimulating motivation, teaching and learning methods, wrapping up, teacher-student interaction, and assessment. They devised teaching strategies that could overcome the limitations of online teaching and were not feasible in face-to-face classes for each element. Additionally, they were considering new instructional strategies tailored to the online teaching environment, such as creating a conducive environment for using online teaching tools and strategies related to checking the online teaching environment. However, for statements of learning objectives, stimulating motivation, and wrapping up, most of the pre-service science teachers predominantly utilized teaching strategies from traditional face-to-face classes, especially those involving the presentation of visual materials through online tools. Student-centered approaches were rarely implemented in stimulating motivation or wrapping up. These findings imply that one semester of exposure to the utilization of online teaching tools may be insufficient in teacher education. Thus, there is a need for a continuous and expanded educational program on the utilization of online teaching tools as part of pre-service teacher education.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재와 미래사회의 핵심역량이 될 컴퓨팅 사고력을 학생들에게 가르치기 위한 정보 교사의 교수내용지식에 어떠한 특성이 있는지를 탐구하였다. 이전의 컴퓨터 교과는 일상적인 컴퓨터 기능을 가르치는데 집중하여 교사의 교수내용지식도 기능 전수에 큰 목적을 두고 있었다. 새로이 개정된 정보 교과는 컴퓨터 과학의 원리와 개념에 대해 학생들이 이해할 수 있는 교육방법에 대한 지식을 가져야 하고, 소프트웨어의 활용 및 소프트웨어 제작에 대한 능력과 교육 방법 또한 함께 가지고 있어야 한다.

Analysis of Middle School Science Teachers' Orientations toward Teaching Science based Instructional Strategies (중학교 과학교사의 교수전략을 통한 교수지향 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze instructional strategies of science teachers, science teachers' orientations toward science teaching by the reason which instructional strategies was used in middle school science classes, and the relations among PCK elements for suggesting a direction of improvement of PKC models. For this purpose, we selected three of middle school teachers as participants who had various teaching experience periods. Semi-structured interviews and classroom observations were gathered for data. From the data collected, we analyzed the type of instructional strategies of science teachers. On the base of these, we identified characteristics of the teachers' orientations toward teaching science. From the reason that instructional strategies was used, we could ascertain that knowledge of science curriculum and knowledge of students' learning which was component of PCK crucially affected instructional strategies of science teachers. Therefore we assured that analysis of practical instructional strategies of science teachers that showed through science instruction was the most effective method that could find out science teacher's orientation of teaching science internalized, and that knowledge of science curriculum and knowledge of students' learning was the basic component of PCK that formed instructional strategies of science teachers. On the basis of the result, a necessity for improvement of PCK models was presented.

The Effect of Science Teaching Efficacy Belief of Secondary School Teachers on Astronomy Topics: Based on Grounded Theories (중등 교사의 과학 교수 효능감이 천문 수업에 미치는 영향 : 근거이론을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm how the students have responded to their class according to STEB (science teaching efficacy belief) of secondary science teacher in astronomy classes. Middle school teachers in charge of 'The Solar System' and 'The Exosphere and Space Development' in the 2009 Revision Science Curriculum content system is selected as an object of study through random sampling method. Twenty-nine teachers were taken STEB questionnaire and asked to make it out. Twenty-seven completed a questionnaire of them is selected for this study. In addition, the top and bottom 5% selected through frequency analysis with the total score from the questionnaire were regarded as high and low STEB teachers. For data collection, this study was used methods such as semi-structured interviews, recording, participant observation. The results were as follows: First, science teachers of high STEB had a high accessibility about excellent professional knowledge and content of the curriculum relating to astronomical field. Second, high STEB teachers were prepared by the appropriate teaching strategies adequate to student-centered learning, whereas the low STEB teachers totally have had teacher-centered learning. Third, high STEB teachers had been provided as the idea that you can take advantage of a variety of instruments, as well as scientific knowledge through the Astronomical Society. Therefore, confidence in astronomical class and teaching strategies through content of the curriculum were very important variables to predict the STEB as well as astronomy-related class activities such as astronomical observations.

  • 서울대 박순응교수의 초청으로 작년부터 한국에서 연구생활을 하고 있는 러시아의 과학자 블라디미르 바쉬킨박사. 그는 G7 프로젝트의 하나인 '산성화가 한국의 환경에 미치는 영향'을 서울대에서 박교수팀과 함께 연구하고 있다. 바쉬킨박사는 현재 아시아에서 추진하고 있는 전아시아 파이프라인 프로젝트에 CL방법과 환경위험도 조사방법을 도입하는 문제도 제안했다.

  • Computer education in Korea needs to be modified from IT utilization to principle-oriented form of computer science education. In this study the achievement, teaching-learning methods, and evaluation methods in the computer system education area of computer science education are suggested on the elementary and middle schools in Korea. For these purpose the curriculums of computer science in United Kingdom and United States are analyzed.
