Fuel Cell Modeling and Load Controlling by the Variable Utilization of Airflow (연료전지 모델링 및 공기이용률 제어에 관한 연구)

  • A mathematical dynamic model of fuel cell was formulated in order to design the control system which will meet the control object. The control objective is set to regulate the airflow in the load change by utilization of airflow and the pressure difference between anode and cathode is maintained below a limit range. Simulation result of 10kW polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) clearly demonstrates that response time need to be less. than 1 seconds for the control requirements. Besides, pressure difference was allowed in pressure range less than 0.01 atm.

  • GaN 에피택시 층의 전기적, 광학적 특성 및 표면 형상의 향상을 위한 전처리 공 정으로서 사파이어 기판의 질화 처리가 많이 행해지고 있는데 이는 표면에 질화 충올 형성시킴으로서 GaN 충과의 계면에너지 및 격자상수 불일치를 줄여 GaN 충의 성장을 촉진시킬 수 있기 때문이다 본 실험에서는 고 진공 하에서 유도 결합 플라즈마를 이용하여 사파이어 기판의 질화 처리를 행한 후 XPS와 AFM을 이용하여 기판 표면의 질소 조성과 표면 형상을 관찰하였다. 기판 표면의 질소 조성은 질소 가스의 유입량과 기판의 온도보다 칠화 시 간 및 RF-power에 의해 크게 좌우되나 표면 형상은 기판의 온도에 크게 영향올 받는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 기판의 온도를 낮춤으로서 protrusion이 없는 매끈한 표면의 질화 충을 얻올 수 있었다. 핵생성 충의 성장 없이 450 oC의 저온에서 GaN 충올 성장시킨 결과 육방 대청성 의 wurtzite구조를 가지며 bas허 plane이 사파이어 기판과 in-plane에서 300 회전된 관계 를 갖고 있는 것올 XRD -scan으로 관찰하였다. 또한 GaN 충의 성장이 진행됩에 따라 결정성이 향상되고 있는 것이 뼈S ali맹ed channeling 실험올 통해 관찰되었으며 이는 G GaN 충의 두께 중가에 따라 결정성이 향상된다는 것올 의미한다 사파이어 기판의 질 화 처 리 시 간이 증가함에 따라 후속 성 장된 GaN 층의 bas외 pI뻐e에 대 한 XRD -rocking c curve의 반치폭이 감소하는 것으로 나타났는데 이는 기판의 표면이 질화 충으로 전환 됨에 따라 각 GaN island의 c-축이 잘 정렬됨올 의미한다. 또한 AFM으로 ~이 충의 표 면 형상올 관찰한 결과 기판의 질화 처리가 선행될 경우 lateral 방향으로의 G뼈 충의 성장이 촉진되어 큰 islands로 성장이 일어나는 것으로 관찰되었는데 이는 질화 처리가 선행될 경우 Ga과 N의 표면 확산에 대한 활성화 에너지가 감소되기 때문인 것으로 생 각된다 일반적으로 GaN 에피택시 충의 결정성의 향상과 lateral 생장올 도모하기 위하여 성장 온도를 증가시키지만 본 실험에서는 낮은 성장 온도에서도 결정성의 향상 및 l later빼 성장을 촉진시킬 수 있었으며 이는 저온 성장법에 의한 고품위의 GaN 에피택시 충 성장에 대한 가능성올 제시하는 것이다.

High-k 적층 감지막(OA, OH, OHA)을 이용한 SOI 기판에서의 고성능 Ion-sensitive Field Effect Transistor의 구현

  • Ion sensitive field effect transistor (ISFET)는 전해질 속 각종 이온농도를 측정하는 반도체 이온 센서이다. 이 소자의 기본 구조는 metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET)에서 고안되었으며 게이트 컨택 부분이 기준전극과 전해질로 대체되어진 구조를 가지고 있다 [1]. ISFET는 기존의 반도체 CMOS 공정과 호환이 가능하고 제작이 용이할 뿐만 아니라, pH용액에 대한 빠른 반응 속도, 비표지 방식의 생체물질 감지능력, 낮은 단가 및 소자의 집적이 용이하다는 장점을 가지고 있다. ISFET pH센서의 감지특성에 결정하는 요소 중 가장 중요한 것은 소자의 감지막이라고 할 수 있다. 감지막은 감지 대상 물질과 물리적으로 직접 접촉되는 부분으로서 일반적으로 기계적/화학적 강도가 우수한 실리콘 산화막(SiO2)이 많이 사용되어져 왔다. 최근에는 기존의 SiO2 보다 성능이 향상된 감지막을 개발하기 위하여 Al2O3, HfO2, ZrO2, 그리고 Ta2O5와 같은 고유전 상수(high-k)를 가지는 물질들을 EIS 센서의 감지막으로 이용하는 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 하지만 지속적인 high-k 물질들에 대한 연구에도 불구하고 각각의 물질이 갖는 한계점이 드러났다. 본 연구에서는 SOI기판에서 SiO2 /HfO2 (OH), SiO2/Al2O3 (OA) 이단 적층 그리고 SiO2/HfO2/Al2O3 (OHA) 삼단적층 감지막을 갖는 ISFET을 제작하고 각 감지막의 특성을 평가하였다. 평가된 특성의 결과가 아래의 표1에 요약되었다. 그 결과, 각 high-k 물질이 갖는 한계점을 극복하기 위하여 제안된 OHA감지막은 기존에 OH, OA가 갖는 장점을 취하면서 단점을 최소화 시키는 최적화된 감지막의 감지특성을 보였다.

Pilot Scale Anaerobic Digestion of Korean Food Waste (파일로트 규모 음식쓰레기 2상 혐기소화 처리공정에 관한 연구)

  • A 5 ton/day pilot scale two-phase anaerobic digester was constructed and tasted to treat Korean food wastes in Anyang city. The process was developed based on 3 years of lab-scale experimental results on am optimim treatment method for the recovery of biogas and humus. Problems related to food waste are ever Increasing quantity among municipal solid wastes(MSW) and high moisture and salt contents. Thus our food waste produces large amounts of leachate and bed odor in landfill sites which are being exhausted. The easily degradable presorted food waste was efficiently treated in the two-phase anaerobic digestion process. The waste contained in plastic bags was shredded and then screened for the removal of inert material such as fabrics and plastics, and subsequently put into the two-stage reactors. Heavy and light inerts such as bones, shells, spoons and plastic pieces were again removed by gravity differences. The residual organic component was effectively hydrolyzed and acidified in the first reactor with 5 days space time at pH of about 6.5. The second, methanization reactor part of which is filled with anaerobic fillters, converted the acids into methane with pH between 7.4 to 7.8. The space time for the second reactor was 15 days. The effluent from the second reactor was recycled to the first reactor to provide alkalinities. The process showed stable steady state operation with the maximum organic rate of 7.9 $kgVS/m^3day$ and the volatile solid reduction efficiency of about 70%. The total of 3.6 tons presorted MSW containing 2.9 tons of food organic was treated to produce about $230m^3$ of biogas with 70% of methane and 80kg humus. This process is extended to full scale treating 15 tons of food waste a day in Euiwang city and the produced biogas is utilized for the heating/cooling of adjacent buildings.

An Experimental Study on Optimizing for Tandem Gas Metal Arc Welding Process (탄뎀 가스메탈아크 용접공정의 최적화에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • To enhance productivity and provide high quality production material in a GMA welding process, weld quality, productivity and cost reduction affects the number of process variables. In addition, a reliable welding process and conditions must be implemented to reduce weld structure failure. In various industries the welding process mathematical model is not fully formulated for the process parameter and on the welding conditions, therefore only partial variables can be predicted. The research investigates the interaction between the welding parameters (welding speed, distance between electrodes, and flow rate of shielding gas) and bead geometry for predicting the weld bead geometry (bead width, bead height). Taguchi techniques are applied to bead shape to develope curve equation for predicting the optimized process parameters and quality characteristics by analyzing the S/N ratio. The experimental results and measured error is within the range of 10% presenting satisfactory accuracy. The curve equation was developed in such a way that you can predict the bead geometry of constructed machinery that can be used for making tandem welding process.

  • This study is intended to build research for ways to utilize material information in the design and working business for public works. The contents and results of this study can be classified into object-oriented DB application to bridge construction and object-oriented DB utilization of civil material information. First, application of object-oriented DB to bridge construction 1) constructs the work unit of classified work table as an object(Each object constructs material information on the statement of quantity calculation as data), 2) constructs object-oriented DB for superstructure and substructure of PSC Beam bridge, 3) leads to the research for ways to utilize materials by developing 3D bridge prototype with REVIT structure. Secondly, ways to utilize object-oriented DB for civil material information identified the possibility for utilizing it in making 2D drawings for design work, preparing materials list, analyzing structure for working businesses, selecting and purchasing materials, managing process and maintaining. It is suggested that the results of this study should be applied to all bridge constructions through test-bed and additional studies so as to secure the credibility of the results of this study.

Preparation of Bismuth Vanadate Pigment from Aqueous Solutions (습식법에 의한 Bismuth Vanadate 안료의 제조)

  • Bismuth vanadate is one of the environmentally benign substitutes for conventional inorganic pigments composed of heavy metals. The effect of process parameters on the physical properties of bismuth vanadate pigment prepared from aqueous solutions of potassium vanadate and bismuth nitrate were experimentally examined. Two aqueous solutions were fed into precipitation chamber at the same flow rate, and precipitates were formed at primary pH of 4.5 and secondary pH of 7.0~7.5. After aging for 3 hours in reaction mixture, 3 hours' calcination at $400^{\circ}C$ gave bismuth vanadate pigment with a good color and hiding power. Increase in molybdenum concentration in reaction mixture increased the hiding power of the pigment, but the other minor constituents had minor effect on the physical properties of the pigment.

An Ordinary Management System for Updating Construction Equipment Prices in the Poom-Saem Based on the Standard Market Price1 (시가표준액표를 활용한 건설공사표준품셈 건설기계가격 상시관리 시스템 개발)

  • Construction equipment cost is critical to estimate the total construction costs, particularly in large and complicated projects. Public construction projects are typically estimated using the Poom-Saem which includes hourly rates for workers and equipments. Despite its importance, the construction equipment cost may not properly reflect the current market value because it is being updated every six years at most. To keep the data for construction equipment cost estimation up to date, it is highly recommended to use the standard market price that is reported each year by the Ministry of Security and Public Administration (MOSPA). However, there is still a wide gap to directly adopt the standard market price for updating the construction equipment prices. Therefore, this paper suggests an effective way to develop an ordinary management systems for updating construction equipment prices in the Poom-saem based on the standard market price.

Enhancement of Saccharification Yield of Ulva pertusa Kjellman by High Pressure Homogenization Process for Bioethanol Production (구멍갈파래의 고압 균질 전처리 공정을 통한 바이오에탄올 생산용 당화수율 증진)

  • This study was investigated to improve the saccharification yield of Ulva pertusa Kjellman by the high pressure homogenization process. It was found that the high pressure homogenization pretreatment effectively destructed the cell wall structures only by using water. The high pressure homogenization process was operated under various conditions such as 10000, 20000 or 30000 psi with different recycling numbers. The optimal condition was determined as 30000 psi and 2 pass of recycling numbers and the sugar conversion yields were 16.02 (%, w/w) of glucose and 14.70 (%,w/w) of xylose, respectively. In the case of enzymatic treating the hydrolyzates with 5 FPU/glucan of celullase and 100 units/mL of amyloglucosidase, 65.8% of carbohydrates was converted into glucose. Using the hydrolysates of Ulva pertusa Kjellman, 48.7% of ethanol was obtained in the culture S.cerevisiae. These results showed that the high pressure homogenization process could efficiently hydrolyze the marine resource by using only water for bioethanol production.

A Resonant-type Step-up DC/DC Converters with Piezoelectric Transducer (압전 트랜스듀서를 이용한 승압형 공진형 직류-직류 컨버터)

  • In this paper, a magnetic-less dc-dc switching converter realizing an integrable power conversion system is described. Instead of magnetic devices, the inductive impedance range of piezoelectric transducers is utilized to store and resonate the energy for soft-switching. Piezoelectric devices have no windings and deliver the power by the electrodes, which lead to mass product through semiconductor-manufacturing process. This paper presents a resonant-type step-up dc-dc power converter employing a disk-type piezoelectric transducer, analyzing the operation principles and the frequency control characteristics. Also, a topology extension of the single stage converter into cascaded multi-stage is presented and analyzed with the operation principles and control characteristics. For verification of the analysis, a 10W output dc-dc power converter hardware was implemented. The hardware experiments shows a good frequency control and power efficiency greater than 96% in the single stage. A hardware prototype of the extended multi-stage one was also realized and tested. The results shows that the converter has the same frequency control performance and high efficiency such as 93%.
