Measurement of Radioactive Surface Contamination of the Restroom in the Hospital (병원 내 화장실의 방사성 표면오염도 측정)

  • This study measured radioactive surface contamination in general public restrooms in hospitals and in dedicated toilets for nuclear medicine. The measurement method was measured using Berthold (LB 124, Germany) at the entrance to the restroom, inside the restroom, around the restroom, in the urinal, and around the urinal. As a result of the use of the restroom, there was no dedicated place waiting for patients who received radioisotopes in one of the three hospitals. As a result of measuring the restroom for exclusive use of radioisotopes, all measurement sites in the radioiodine therapy room were the highest, and the results of measuring the public restrooms showed background level contamination at all hospitals except hospital B. However, it was measured as 8.073 Bq/㎠ and 6.426 Bq/㎠ in the urinals in the public restroom on the first floor of the B hospital. Therefore, it is recommended to explain the dangers of radiation exposure to patients and provide a place for patients to wait. In addition, a plan should be sought to prevent patients from receiving radioisotopes from using unnecessary movements and general public restrooms.

  • 초고층 공동주택에 설치되는 주방 및 욕실의 배기를 외부로 배출하는 방법은 공용유도관로인 수직덕트를 설치하고 그 상부말단에 하이브리드 루프팬의(hybrid roof fan)이 설치하는 것이다. 하이브리드 루프팬의 기능은 자연통풍력이 약한 하절기는 강제적으로 루프팬에 의해 구동하고 자연배기를 수행할 수 있을 정도로 자연통풍력이 큰 동절기는 루프팬을 운전하지 않는 기능을 보유하도록 유도하는 것이다. 본 고는 이러한 하이브리드 루프팬의 운전조건을 53층 높이의 임의 공동주택에 대해, 수직덕트의 선정한 후, 제시하고자 한다.

Sign System of Common Spaces in Nursing Home (노인요양시설 공용생활공간의 안내표식 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • The Sign system of nursing home plays an important role when an elderly adapts to new environment and gets on daily life autonomously. Common living spaces are expecially important in maintaining social nature, adequate signage should be installed to aid them in finding their ways. Sign system is a comprehensive system consisted of various factors. In this research, it has been categorized as signage and cueing. Signage includes text and graphic signs, and cueing consists of floor plan configuration and sensual mechanism of visual, auditory, olfactory senses. Using this framework, held investigation and analysis were held in common area(shared living room, shared dining room, toilet) of 14 Korean, 8 Northern European, and 10 Japanese nursing home facilities. The result revealed that even though sign system should work as a combined unit, each factor was planed without relations to each other and did not perform mutually complementary role. Signage was installed too high, without considering the posture of elderly. Korean facilities used abundant and diverse signage compared to other countries. Japanese nursing home preferred cueing method over signage, and those of Northern Europe used plentiful visual cues such as color and ornaments.

  • The existing domestic and foreign elderly nursing homes, with 50 beds or more, are selected and examined according to user interview, and document analysis to understand the facts about the elderly nursing homes. The location of domestic nursing homes is limited to the region of Seoul and Kyunggi province. The scope of research is focused on the plans, area compositions, equipments and relations with public spaces - wandering paths, bathrooms and toilets. The content of research, based on the collected data discribed above, includes the search for architectural idea and the examination of typological differences among plans. The research is performed as followes. 1) description of research objectives. 2) examination of problems associated with the elderly. 3) understanding of systems and plans of domestic and foreign nursing homes. 4) performance of case study, derivation of design criteria for architectural planning, and suggestion of several adjustable alternatives for public spaces.

A Study on the Current Status of Space Composition in Special Schools - Based on public schools established and planned after 2013 - (특수학교 공간구성 현황에 관한 연구 - 2013년 이후 설립 및 예정 공립학교를 중심으로 -)

  • Since the 5th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Special Education in 2013, special schools have been trying to improve facility standards to advance special education support. The purpose of this study is to find out the current status of the spatial composition of facilities for public special schools that will be established and planned after 2013, and analyze the differences from the existing school spatial composition to determine the space composition ratio and details required for the establishment of special schools in the future. As a result of the analysis, the total area of facilities of special schools established after 2013 increased by an average of 1,822.1㎡ (about 16%). Through actual drawing analysis, it was confirmed that both the dedicated area and the public area had increased. The cause of the increase in the public area was confirmed to be an increase in hallway width and ramps, halls, and toilet between classrooms, and the reason for the increase in the dedicated area was that the newly installed 'Learning Support Space' had an average of 20 additional rooms installed per school.
