In this paper, change of load carrying capacity of bridges with time was analyzed referring to the safety inspect data stored in the KISTEC. From this study, it was known that the capacity is rated differently by various parameters such as inspector's subjective. Accordingly, an improved method, in this paper, is suggested which can correct deviation due to several uncertainties involved in rating process. The suggested method can be utilized for efficient maintenance of bridges such as cycles and determination of priority of retrofit, and estimation of service life etc.

The Minisoy of Information and Communication(MIC) requires telecompanys to share base stations in order to prevent the duplicated investment and environmental destruction which would be caused by the indiscreet construction of basestations for enlarging their own service area among telecompanys. This paper discusses' the problems of mobile communication services that have been generated in common-repeater at the Metropolitan subway. These problem include factors of power obstacles, communication equipment and establishment obstacles. The content of this paper is helpful in organizing the basestation sharing of IMT-2000 and the 4th generation mobile system, and provides the basics of a higher quality service for common-service communication.

This study assessed the facility volume distribution for artificial reefs (ARs) deployed at the sea bottom in fishing grounds in the Busan Sea region, and estimated the efficient use of volume in the initial AR group. Analysis of the volume of AR facilities in the Busan Sea region indicated that the quantity and surface areas of deployed facilities varied greatly between 1997 and 2004. However, a rapid decrease in AR facility volume after 2003 indicated an increased use of different kinds of ARs, such as steel or ceramic ARs. And the results revealed that a total of 2,777 AR facilities were deployed in the Gijang sea region with a founding ratio of 89%; corresponding numbers for the Heaundae and Namgu sea region were 7,691 and 84.9%, and 905 and 96% for the cubic type of AR in the Saha and Gangseo sea regions. The analysis indicated that ARs deployed in the Busan sea region maintained a good conservation ratio of more than 85%. The loss in AR volume (approximately 15%) was due to subsidence, breakaway, and incomplete deployment.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia and user oriented spatial needs of the staff in the common space of nursing home in Japan. Data was taken from six units of the 2 skilled facilities. The results revealed as follows; 4 types of elderly activities were founded, and physical environmental characteristics affected residents' space usage. And it was perceived like as living oriented space, social interaction space, facility space, staff oriented space. Conclusively it was suggested to plan dining space as semi-private space, day corner as semi-public space.

To estimate the status and volume of artificial reefs(ARs) deployed at the sea bottom in fishing grounds, this study assessed the initial volume of ARs, the cubic volume of AR groups, and the porosity of each AR using image data collected during a survey using a multi-beam echo sounder(MBES) and a side scan sonar(SSS). These results were compared with data collected during diver surveys and used to develop a new method and prediction formulas for countermeasures, facility volume, and efficient use of volume for deployed ARs(cubic concrete). The field survey results for nine ARs deployed in the Busan Sea region were calculated, and the average value of coefficient k(indicating the efficient use of volume ratio) among ARs was 0.753, and the correlation between coefficient k and year(Yr) of deployment was calculated as k=0.0023Yr+0.725. The relationship between these two factors was poor. In years following the deployment of artificial reefs, coefficient k and year of deployment were not correlated, in spite of the hardening ground due to subsidence and the reduced distance between ARs. Consequently, it is reasonable to suppose that coefficient k was defined by bottom surface conditions and initial deployment conditions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate user satisfaction by identifying the problems and suggesting Improvement plans of interior design in the accommodation area of Ro-Pax ships. First, the characteristics of Ro-P ax ships' accommodation area through previous studies and references, and then a field survey was conducted on seven kinds of Ro-Pax ships. Based on the field study, a questionnaire survey was administered targeting 38 experts involved in passenger ships who indicated that public facilities were the most unsatisfactory of interior design in accommodation areas. As a result of Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, the satisfaction of color showed the highest influence on user satisfaction in accommodation areas, and required the standard of the interior design in accommodation areas. The suggested results of research were the types and layout of public facilities, improvement of color design, provision of interior design standard for accommodation areas, and improvement plans for interior design of Ro-Pax ships.

In Japan, apartment housing occupies a great proportion of residence due to high population density like Korea. Although Korea and Japan are similar in big proportions of apartment housing, and apartment housing management systems and utilization behaviors, there are considerable differences. This paper examined Japanese public facilities and the status of public facility management and utilization, which differ from those in Korea. In order to analyze the status of public facilities from a perspective of management companies, a preliminary survey was conducted targeting apartment management companies in the top 100 and a field study on public facilities was conducted targeting chief directors and managers of individual housing facilities to look into public facility utilization methods, problems with public facility management, demands of residents, and utilization situations. Also, the present state of facility utilization and utilization promotion plans were investigated, based on the drawings of facilities collected. As the result, results were found in three respects; 'elements, related to building plans', 'elements, related to utilization promotion', and 'elements, related to facility remodeling, including changes of uses'. In relation to the use of public facilities in the future, a more active communication between managers and users would be needed for planning. Also, there would be a need to provide public facilities for visitors when there are events for both occupants and visitors in order to promote the use of facilities and management companies would have to share information of excellent facility models.

In this paper are This paper is about the efficient use operational management plan for the metropolitan public Jamsil heliport. First, understand the general operations and facilities to Jamsil heliport and raised the issue for them. And, in cases such as urban offshore heliport Jamsil heliport in New York and Texas (USA), for example, which was presented for comparative analysis and Jamsil heliport in London (UK). Operations, research is seen against a facility to install and manage a couple of airfield operations based on the subject by presenting the alternatives, thereby causing the principal operating facilities, infrastructure and security facilities even suggest ways to enhance the standards. Unlike other countries, Jamsil heliport location characteristics were excluded from the study on the safety aspects related to flight operations and for this I'm a military airport facilities coexist in the neighborhood.

When developing projects to build facilities to be shared by both military bases and surrounding communities, strategies are needed to achieve two objectives: 1) minimize missteps and opposition from local communities in the process of developing and implementing such projects, and 2) promote cost-benefit optimization and user-satisfaction. With aim of promoting co-operation and co-existence between military bases and adjust communities, this research proposes esthetical factors to be considered in conceiving civil-military sharing facilities. It seeks experts' opinions on the development of civil-military sharing facilities, and examines critical factors (economic feasibility, security, and satisfaction, etc.) for project development as well as building types suitable for shared-use between military bases and local residents. It then establishes a method to prioritize facility-type and narrow down design factors (considerations and restrictions) in project development by applying quantitative analysis. The methodological approach of the research employs the Delphi survey method to quantitatively analyze qualitative information drawn from experts' opinions. At the first round of the survey, facility types, items for consideration and restrictions are drawn, and then at the second round of the survey, criticality of each item is analyzed. Finally, it reaches a conclusion on suitability of facility types for civil-military sharing facilities, and selects project considerations and restrictions when developing this kind of project.
