  • The structural analysis model for estimate of load carrying capacity of railway bridge on service line is important to determine safety of bridges in service, we need to take response of bridge exactly, applying analysis model similar to the real railway bridge most. Track structure which is to distribute loads and decrease vibrations occurred from running train is constructed on the railway bridges. And it is important factor which should be considered to understand exact dynamic and static responses of bridge. But track structure is currently classified as a none structural members in the structural analysis model for estimating load carrying capacity of railway bridge and not considered in analysis model. That's the reason it is difficult to understand exact behavior of bridges. Therefore, the major objective of this study is to develop an analytical track-bridge model which is similar to real railway bridges considering track structure for safety assessment of railway bridge on service line to be effectively done.

  • 구조물 계측 및 유지관리에 포함되는 계측센서, 계측장비, 전산장비, 통신장비, 소프트웨어 등은 구조물 수명에 비해 비교적 짧은 내구수명을 가지기 때문에 공용 기간 중 지속적으로 교체/변경이 요구되고 있으며, 소프트웨어 또한 분석기술의 향상과 정보통신기술의 발전 등을 계속해서 반영해야 하므로 일정기간마다 모니터링시스템에 대한 업그레이드 작업이 요구되고 있다. 그러나, 기존에 개발된 시스템은 구조물 관리자에 의한 일부 하드웨어와 분석 알고리즘의 변경이나 업그레이드가 쉽지 않고 모니터링 시스템의 구축에 활용된 프로그램 내부구조 파악이 어려워 원 개발자의 지속적인 지원에 의존해야한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 모바일 클라우드 기반 구조물 유지관리계측 통합모니터링시스템에서는 구조계가 평상시나 특수한 상황에서 장 단기적으로 어떠한 거동을 보이고 있는지를 분석하고, 이를 토대로 향후의 거동이 어떻게 될지 예측하기 위해서 확률과 통계기법의 적용을 통해서 구할 수 있는 새로운 데이터 분석 기법을 적용하였으며, 모바일 클라우드 기반으로 데이터를 수집하고, 많은 데이터 양 및 데이터 신뢰도 수준에서 건전성평가를 할 수 있는 새로운 개념의 구조물 거동계측 통합모니터링시스템 설계로 기존의 단점을 해결할 수 있도록 개선하였다.

  • Better understanding of in-situ mechanical behavior of pavement foundations is very important to predict long-term effects on the system performance of transport infrastructure. For this purpose resilient stiffness characterization of geomaterials is needed to properly adopt such mechanistic analysis under both traffic and environmental loadings. In this paper in-situ monitoring data from KHC test road were used to analyze the non-linear response using finite element method for a selected constitutive model of foundation geomaterials, and the results were compared with the field data.

  • For efficient maintenance management of bridges, an establishment of asset management system is necessary which helps prediction of maintenance cost and strategic allocation of budget in consideration of top priority. The main purpose of this study is to suggest asset valuation method, which is practical in conformity with domestic situations, through researches on asset valuation method of bridges. This study has researched asset valuation method of bridge, which is appropriate for domestic situations by finding out advantages and disadvantages through investigating domestic and foreign application examples of asset valuation method for bridge facilities. In this study, asset valuation method by historical cost and replacement cost were suggested and a valuation model for bridges was established. In addition, two suggested valuation methods were applied to actual bridges which is used in Korea. As the result, it was analyzed that bridge asset valuation method in consideration of historical cost is desirable for the accounting purpose. And, it was analyzed that valuation method utilizing depreciated replacement cost(DRC), which could consider various factors, is desirable for the maintenance decision supporting purpose.

  • 국내에는 농업용수 공급을 목적으로 축조된 저수지가 2008년 통계연보기준에 따르면 17,649개소가 있으며, 이 중 3,326개소는 한국농어촌공사에서 관리하고, 나머지 14,323개소는 지자체에서 관리하고 있는 것으로 파악되고 있다. 유효저수량으로 보면 공사관리가 24억4천7백만$m^3$, 지자체관리가 3억2천3백만$m^3$으로 각각 88.3%와 11.7%를 관리하고 있는 셈이다. 경상북도와 같은 산이 많은 지방은 지자체관리가 전체 대비 34.5%인 4,943개소이지만 유효저수량으로 보면 전체 27억7천만$m^3$ 중 8천4백만$m^3$ 3%수준, 지자체관리 대비 26.1%수준의 저수지가 있는 셈이다. 저수지의 축조년도를 지자체관리 저수지의 58%인 8,352개소의 저수지가 1948년 이전에 축조된 일명 '밀가루 댐'으로 불리는 저수지가 대부분이다. 축조된 지 60년 이상 된 시설물은 공용내구연한이 경과한 시설로서 노후손상부위를 복구해야 함은 물론 이상기후에 따른 강우사상의 변화로 설계빈도를 달리하여 재해대비 보강이 필요한 시설이다. 2002년 8월 제15호 태풍 루사나 2003년 9월 제14호 태풍 매미 등에 의해 저수지의 피해가 발생하는 빈도가 점차 늘어가고 있다. 따라서 지자체관리 저수지의 안전관리방안의 마련을 통한 재해대비보강 및 기능강화가 시급한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시 군 관리 농업용 저수지에 대하여 저수지 준공년도별 설계빈도에 대한 등급 구분 및 홍수배제 능력 등 수리 수문학적 안정성 기준을 설정하여 검토한 결과 1960년대 이전에 축조된 저수지의 경우 50%이상의 저수지에서 안정성에 문제가 생긴 것으로 파악되며, 1970년대에는 38%, 1980년대에는 34%, 1990년대에는 24%로 검토되었다. 이와 같이 안정성에 문제가 있는 저수지는 주기적인 모니터링과 보강이 필요하다고 사료된다.

  • The increase of high-resolution spatial data and methodological developments in recent years has enabled a detailed analysis of individual experiences in space and over time. However, despite the increasing availability of data and technological advances, such individual-level analysis is not always possible in practice because of its computing requirements. To overcome this limitation, there has been a considerable amount of research on the use of high-performance, public cloud computing platforms for spatial analysis and simulation. The purpose of this paper is to empirically evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of spatial analysis in cloud computing platforms. We compare the computing speed for calculating the measure of spatial autocorrelation and performing geographically weighted regression analysis between a local machine and spot instances on clouds. The results indicate that there could be significant improvements in terms of computing time when the analysis is performed parallel on clouds.

Assessment of tunnel stability according to height of embankment by numerical analysis (수치해석을 통한 성토 높이에 따른 터널 안정성 평가 연구)

  • The construction of the tunnel portal should be careful because cover depth is shallow and it is difficult to exhibit the arching effect. Tunnel stability may be reduced with additional embankment above the portal of tunnel. In this study, in order to examine the stability of the tunnel according to additional embankment above the portal of tunnel, numerical analysis was performed while changing the ground conditions and height of embankment. As a result of the numerical analysis, it was found that the allowable flexural compressive stress of shotcrete and allowable axial force of rockbolts were exceeded when the height of additional embankment was 12 m in rock mass rating V. When considering the displacement, the range of the plastic region and the behavior of the support materials, the tunnel stability seems to be greatly reduced if the height of additional embankment above the portal of tunnel exceeds 10 m.

Numerical Analysis for Dynamic Characteristics of Next-Generation High-Speed Railway Bridge (차세대 고속철 통과 교량의 동적특성에 대한 수치해석)

  • To take into account of the increasing speed of next generation high-speed trains, a new design code for the traffic safety of railway bridges is required. To solve dynamic responses of the bridge, this research offers a numerical analyses of PSC (Pre-stressed Concrete) box girder bridge, which is most representative of all the bridges on Gyungbu high-speed train line. This model takes into account of the inertial mass forces by the 38-degree-of-freedom and interaction forces as well as track irregularities. Our numerical analyses analyze the maximum vertical deflection and DAF (Dynamic Amplification Factor) between simple span and two-span continuous bridges to show the dynamic stability of the bridge. The third-order polynomial regression equations we use predict the maximum vertical deflections depending on varying running speeds of the train. We also compare the vertical deflections at several cross-sectional positions to check the influence of running speeds and the maximum irregularity at a longitudinal level. Moreover, our model analyzes the influence lines of vertical deflection accelerations of the bridge to evaluate traffic safety.

An Experimental Study on Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete Pavement (하이브리드 섬유로 보강된 콘크리트 포장의 역학적 특성 실험연구)

  • Cement concrete pavement offers long-term service life and excellent applicability for heavy traffic. It is easier to purchase and more durable and economical than the asphalt pavement. However, it is difficult to repair and rehabilitate compared to the asphalt pavement when it comes to the maintenance problem. Since the crack is the main reason of the damage of concrete pavement, it is necessary to control the early and long-term crack in the concrete pavement. In this experimental study, the basic performance tests have been carried out to investigate the effect of hybrid fibers which were composed of micro fibers with small diameter and high aspect ratio and macro fibers with large diameter and low aspect ratio on the concrete pavement, in which lower water ratio and larger aggregates were used compared to the general concrete mixture. The test results showed that the flexural strength and toughness of concrete pavement mixture have been increased with the use of hybrid fibers in the concrete pavement mixture, even though they were less effective compared to the normal concrete mixture. It was found that the hybrid fibers were effective to control the early shrinkage of the concrete pavement which is one of the main reasons of the damage in the concrete pavement.

Development and application of integrated indicators for assessing the water resources performance of multi-purpose and water supply dams (댐 용수공급능력 안정성 평가를 위한 통합지표 개발 및 적용)

  • For comprehensively assessment the water resources performance of multi-purpose dams and water supply dams in South Korea, a methodology was proposed to utilize the durational reliability along with the integrated auxiliary indicators including resiliency, dimensionless vulnerability, water resource efficiency, specific inflow, and specific water supply. In addition, for the purpose of sustainable dam operation in the future, a plan to grade the water resources performance was presented to periodically evaluate the performance and determine the priority of each dam's structural or non-structural planning according to the evaluation results. As major results, in the case of Sumjingang Dam, the durational reliability was 99.0%, but the integrated auxiliary index was the lowest of 44 points, which was 5th grade. This means that despite the current high reliability, hydrological changes due to future climate change or regional change of water demand-supply balance can have significant impacts on the water resources performances. In contrast, the Chungju Dam with a durational reliability of 93.0%, which is below the average among all multi-purpose dams, shows the 76 points of the integrated auxiliary index, which is 3rd highest following the Soyanggang Dam and the Namgang Dam. Nevertheless, due to the size of the basin, the specific inflow is sufficiently high as 185%, so the actual performance could be evaluated relatively high. The water supply dams designed for a single purpose tend to be evaluated relatively high because they have a high proportion of industrial and municipal water supply and have enough room for the supply capacity.
