  • 고도로 조직화된 마케도니아의 공병 부대는 포위전에 사용되는 무기뿐 아니라 강을 건너는 부교도 제작하였다. 포병의 경우에는 특별히 제작된 중요한 부속들은 동물이나 마차에 의하여 운반되었는데, 이것들은 부분들로 분해되어 한 뭉치씩 조립되어 운반되었다. 알렉산더 대왕은 전투시 단편명령을 전달하기 위하여 7명의 부관이나 근위병 그룹 중 하나를 사용하였다. 근위병 부대는 현대의 사관학교와 비교할만한 훈련 계획으로 훈련된 장교단을 의미한다.

  • 미국의 장갑무기체계 현대화(ASM)계획은 일련의 계열모듈을 사용하여 전차, 자주포, 보병전투기무기, 공병체계 및 유도무기 등을 모두 같지는 않더라도 유사한 차체 즉 공통자체(Common Chassis)위에 올려 체계를 구성할 것으로 보인다. 이 계획의 규모는 총 예산이 약 4조원(5백 50억불)에 이르며, 6천대의 ASM계열을 생산할 예정이다

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the necessity of organizing an exclusive unit to perform the division Engineering Reconnaissance, and how to organize exclusive unit. To this end, first, it was analyzed whether exclusive unit organization was necessary by using organization-conditions and AHP. Next, through ARENA model simulation and task-analysis, it was determined how many people would be organized, and how the class structure would be appropriate. As a result, first, it is reasonable to organize the Engineering Reconnaissance unit as an exclusive unit, and the best way is to organize all-time(war/peace time). Second, the exclusive unit should be organized into a total of 10 persons(2~3 cadres, 7~8 soldiers). We hope that the research will contribute to the rational procedure of our military unit structure organization and set the standards for applying the quantitative methodology.

Study on Delivery of Military Drones and Transport UGVs with Time Constraints Using Hybrid Genetic Algorithms (하이브리드 유전 알고리즘을 이용한 시간제약이 있는 군수 드론 및 수송 UGV 혼합배송 문제 연구)

  • This paper studies the method of delivering munitions using both drones and UGVs that are developing along with the 4th Industrial Revolution. While drones are more mobile than UGVs, their loading capacity is small, and UGVs have relatively less mobility than drones, but their loading capacity is better. Therefore, by simultaneously operating these two delivery means, each other's shortcomings may be compensated. In addition, on actual battlefields, time constraints are an important factor in delivering munitions. Therefore, assuming an actual battlefield environment with a time limit, we establish delivery routes that minimize delivery time by operating both drones and UGVs with different capacities and speeds. If the delivery is not completed within the time limit, penalties are imposed. We devised the hybrid genetic algorithm to find solutions to the proposed model, and as results of the experiment, we showed the algorithm we presented solved the actual size problems in a short time.

Visitor Segmentation as a Means of Reducing Variance in spending profiles Corps of Engineers Lakes (미국공병대(美國工兵隊) 관할 호수에 수반되는 여행비용의 분산 감소를 위한 시장분할법)

  • The purpose of this study is to segment recreationists into groups which are homogeneous with respect to their spending patterns and trip characteristics. Date were derived from a larger study aimed at developing nationally representative expenditure profiles for recreation visitors to Corps of Engineers projects. Segmentation of these data reduces variance and helps to identify distinctive final demand vectors for input - output application. A - priori and cluster analysis approaches for identifying segments are compared. The a - priori segmentation approach identified 12 segments and the cluster analysis approach identified 3 segments. The 3 nonresident clusters - labeled "day use", "overnight", and "overnight camping" - show lower mean squares within groups than the a - priori segments on almost all nonresident spending categories with an exception of boating expenses. For the Corps of Engineers, implications of these findings for the estimation of economic impacts are discussed.

  • 이 글은 15년간 미 극동공병단에서 설계실, Project Manager, Engineering/ Construction Coordinator등 여러 부서를 거치고 설계사무소를 개설한 지 3년동안 현실을 경험하면서 불합리하게 느껴졌던 점과 그 대응책을 단편적으로 기술하였다. 세계시장이 개방되면 무엇이 과연 우리의 영역을 침해할 것인가에 대해 막연한 불안감을 접하고 있으나, 그들과의 경쟁력을 높이기 위해서는 설계, 감리, 공사의 품질을 향상하는데 관심을 기울여야 할 것이다. 최근 설계ㆍ감리비의 인상은 기술료가 비싼 외국기술자의 기반을 만들어 줄 수도 있다는 우려와 함께 건축사들의 각성에 의해 우리의 지위향상에 일조하기를 진정 바라는 바이다.

Study for Woehler Fatigue Line of Steel Beam-to-Column Structure (강재 기둥-보 구조물의 피로곡선 연구)

  • This study presents a fatigue line with a plastic rotational angle to a great extent of plastic strain of Low-Cycle-fatigue period, such as earthquake, etc. This fatigue line with a plastic rotational angle is measured and analysed more simply in practice rather than Woehler's fatigue line which is developed in stress variation of the structure. It shows that the slope of fatigue line with a plastic rotational angle is equal to that with plastic strain through the experiments by proving the correlation that the plastic strain ratio is directly proportional to the plastic rotational angle in plastic hinge.
