유연한 다공성 스크린을 가진 헬름홀쯔 공명기의 흡음특성 (Absorptive Characteristics of a Helmholtz Resonator Damped by a Flexible Porous Screen)

  • A Helmholtz resonator is one of noise control elements widely used in many practical applications. The resonator has very high absorption at resonance frequency but the frequency bandwidth is very small. Therefore many kinds of additional resistive screens have been applied to the resonator's neck in order to increase the bandwidth. This paper discusses the absorptive characteristics of a Helmholtz resonator damped by a flexible porous screen in form of wire mesh. First, various experimental results are introduced and studied. Secondly, the effect of the resistive screen is theoretically predicted. It is shown that the distance between the screen and aperture affects on the resonance frequency as well as the absorption of the system.

  • 다양한 공연장 및 대공간에서의 실내음향 제어를 위해서는 실내마감재료의 흡음 및 확산성능을 제어할 수 있는 재료가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 알루미늄 새시를 이용한 흡음구조를 개발하였으며, 흡음특성을 조사하기 위하여 수직입사 흡음계수와 잔향실법 흡음계수를 측정하였다. 수직입사 흡음계수 측정결과 알루미늄 다목적 흡음재의 타공구조와 인서트에 의해 형성되는 공간이 공명형 흡음기의 역할을 하여 중.저주파수 대역의 흡음계수가 증가되는 것으로 나타났다. 잔향실법 흡음계수 측정결과 알루미늄 새시를 이용한 흡음구조의 형성에 따라 공명주파수 대역보다 낮은 중저주파수 대역의 흡음계수가 증가되는 것으로 나타났다. 공기층 증가에 따라 공명주파수 이상 대역에서의 흡음률은 증가되고 주파수 대역별 흡음계수 편차도 감소되는 것으로 나타났으며, 고주파수 대역의 흡음률 향상을 위한 방안이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • Although the fundamental resonance frequency of a Helmholts resonator is mainly determined by the volume of the resonator and the size of the hole, it is also affected by the position of the hole and the shape of the resonator. In this study, the inertial end corrections and the fundamental resonance frequencies of concentric pipe resonators are estimated for various positions of the hole and shapes of the resonator by using the 3-D analysis. For an effective noise reduction in concentric pipe resonators with several holes, an optimal spatial hole-distribution is proposed based on the calculated transmission loss for various hole-distributions and sizes of holes.

선박기관실의 소음 저감을 위한 차폐공명기의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Resonator to Reduce the Ship Engine Room Noise)

  • It is known that elimination of ship engine room noise is impossible thing, so the working environment in the engine room is getting worse because ships are recently built with huge engines to take higher sailing power. In the yacht and cruise yacht, the engine room noise is more serious because they have bigger engines relative to their hull sizes. The noise generated from the main engine makes the employee to hearing loss and the transmitted noise make the uncomfortable conditions in the cabins of ship. The noise generated by ship engine must be attenuate for the employee and passenger. In yacht and cruise yacht, the noise levels in cabines are the most important criterions to the value of commodities. In this study, the noise absorbtion barrier which have resonators is experimentally studied by the 1/3 octave band noise elimination rates(%).

  • 선박에서 승조원 및 승객들의 안락함을 위하여 격실내의 공기중 소음을 감소시키는 것이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 선박의 주동력기관 및 주변기기로 부터 발생되는 공기중 소음의 효과적인 차폐를 목적으로, 공명기 원리를 적용하여 고안된 다층패널의 공기중 소음 전달손실(transmission loss) 특성을 이론적으로 예측할 수 있는 해석법을 전달 매트릭스(transfer matrix)기법을 이용하여 도출하였다. 또한, 모형에 대한 음향실험을 통하여 해석방법의 타당성을 검증하였고 이에 따라 다층 패널의 설계인자 변화에 따른 전달손실 변화 특성을 이론적으로 고찰하였다. 연구결과, 공명기를 내장한 다층패널은 재래의 음향격벽구조에 비해 뛰어난 음향차폐 성능을 가지며 구조의 경량화가 가능함이 확인되었다.

  • This paper introduces the experimental analysis of the resonator in the rolling piston type compressor for air conditioner. The resonator located between cylinder and hearing is a major factor in the noise reduction of the rotary compressor. Several shapes for the resonator which can be built in the space limitations are derived. Then optimal resonator type for the noise reduction is determined by noise tests. 6 design parameters of the type are found and optimal level for each design factor is deduced from Taguchi method.

  • Traditionally, tire made a role of function, which is supporting vehicle load, making brake, transferring traction, etc. But tire is a part of vehicle design, nowadays. In accordance with this market trend, customers need a wide tread design tire (i.e. low series tire). Generally low Series Tire means stiffer than general tire. That brings out increasing road noise. (Especially tire cavity resonance noise) Tire noise is divided in structure home noise and air borne noise. Tire cavity resonance noise (structure home noise) come from vibration between tire and vehicle. In the study, we investigated that tire cavity resonance noise is affected by stiffness of tread and sidewall.

음향공명 방음벽 연구 (A Study on the Sound Resonating Barrier)

  • Noise barriers are widely used to reduce the sound level propagating from highways, railways or factories to residential areas. The reduced noise level at a receiver point is then determined by the diffracted waves around the edge of the barrier as well as by the transmitted waves through the barrier. 1'or proper usage, many studies either theoretical or experimental have been made with the objective of precisely Predicting the acoustic field and improving the noise attenuating properties of barriers. In this study. a simple scattering model. a line acoustic source scattered by an infinite cylinder, is introduced to simply Investigate the sound attenuation efficiency of a sound-resonating barrier. From this model study, it is observed that the sound-resonating harrier can be used as a good sound-shielding element especially for the pure-tone noise generated from the transformer. Large sound-attenuation is achieved by applying the sound-resonating barrier to the large transformers in a substation.

  • Helmholtz resonator is used to reduce noise of the narrow frequency band. It has high transmission loss at its resonance frequency. The silencer that combines many resonators could control broadband noise at low frequency. To convey this rather simple idea, serial and parallel arrangement of resonators have been tested to obtain high transmission loss characteristics in the band of which are selects. Theoretical and experimental results explain these characteristics in the absence of mean flow. The change of acoustic characteristics by the resonance frequencies and resonators arrangement are explained by using the equivalent Impedance analysis that is defined in this paper. It shows that the transmission loss has a maximum value when the separation distance between each resonator is λ/4 of its wavelength.

  • Many of research on noise reduction techniques have been progressed for the improvement of noise environment in subway train. There are many way to noise reduction techniques in the tunnel, but it has been reported as an alternative to attach sound absorption material on tunnel wall. For this reason sound absorption material has been studied for application of tunnel. The objective of this study is to investigate design parameters on a Helmholtz resonator with built-in sound absorption panel for the reduction of the tunnel noise in the subway. Sound absorption panel composed of the perforated panel with sub-millimeter holes and the airspace backed a rigid wall or between panels. The experiment is performed through the change of number of perforated panel, cross sectional area and the depth of airspace of the sound absorption panel under the normal incidence sound.
