  • 전기차 보급이 늘어나면서 그만큼 화재의 발생이 늘어나고 있다. 화재 발생률로만 보면 내연기관 차량보다 더 높다고 볼 수 없다. 하지만 전기차 화재는 폭발성이 강하고 순식간에 인접한 물체에 옮겨붙으며 화재 진압이 어렵다는 특성을 보이고 있다. 전기차 화재의 위험성에도 불구하고 산업통상자원부에서는 지하 주차장 비율이 높은 환경에서 지상 주차장 설치를 강제한다면 친환경 자동차 보급에 저해가 되기 때문에 법률을 개정하는 것을 주저하고 있는 실정이다. 외국에서도 전기차는 지상주차장을 우선으로 하는 추세이다. 이에 본 연구는 공동주택 등에서 전기차 주차장을 지상에 별도로 설치하는 등 안전을 도모한 법률과 조례안을 구상하고자 한다.

Structural Safety of Lightweight Valve Disc by Topology Optimization Design based on Computational Simulation (전산 시뮬레이션 기반의 위상최적설계에 의한 경량 밸브디스크의 구조적 안전성)

  • In this study, flow and structural computational analysis were performed to investigate the structural safety of the lightweight butterfly valve disc designed by topology optimization. After flow analysis, as the opening angle increased, the flow coefficient increased non-linearly and showed a gentle slop. When the opening angle was 12 degree, the cavitation could be predicted. After FE analysis, all FE von-Misses stresses of the lightweight disc were smaller than the yield strength of the material, and all FE maximum deformations were also smaller than the conservative deformation of the previous study. Ultimately, it was confirmed that the structural safety of the lightweight valve disc based on computational analysis is effective.

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of preparing an alternative to improving the safety of civil pressure regulators installed instead of gas governors to supply city gas to apartment houses. First, problems were derived and solutions were presented by investigating the safety standards and installation status of domestic pressure regulators. In addition, using the DNV Phast-Safeti program, a quantitative risk assessment solution, risks such as gas leakage contained in pressure regulators installed in apartment houses and surrounding gas facilities were evaluated in terms of individual risks and societal risks, and measures were derived to reduce the risks in the installation and management of the pressure regulators.

중수로용 개량 핵연료 개발경위와 향후전망

  • 월성 원자력발전소와 같은 중수로에 쓰이는 개량 핵연료(CANFLEX)가 새로이 개발돼, 중수로형 원자력발전소의 안전성은 물론 경제성을 크게 향상시키게 되었다. 한국원자력연구소와 캐나다원자력공사는 최근 천연 우라늄을 사용하는 개량 핵연료(CANFLEX-NU)와 순환 우라늄을 사용하는 고연소도 핵연료(CANFLEX-RU)의 공동 개발에 대한 협정을 체결하였다. 이를 통해 우리 나라는 중국$\cdot$아르헨티나$\cdot$터키 등 중수로 발전소 건설을 추진중인 제3국 핵연료 시장에 단독 진출할 수 있는 교두보를 마련하였다. 개량 핵연료를 노후되는 기존 중수로 원전에 사용할 경우 향후 10년간 약 400억 원의 비용절감효과가 예상된다. 한국원자력연구소 중수로핵연료개발팀(팀장 석호천 박사)이 캐나다원자력공사와 공동 개발한 중수로용 개량 핵연료의 개발 경위 등을 알아본다.

Quantitative Risk Assessment for Gas-explosion at Buried Common Utility Tunnel (지하 매설 공동구 내부 가스 폭발에 대한 위험성 평가)

  • Keeping the gas pipelines in the common utility tunnel is useful because it has a lower risk of corrosion than conventional burial, and can prevent from excavating construction. But, explosions in common utility tunnels can cause greater damage from the blast overpressure compared to outdoor explosions, due to nature of the confined environment. Despite this fact, however, research on common utility tunnels has been limited to fire hazard and little has been studied on the dangers of explosions. This study developed scenarios of methane gas explosion caused by gas leak from gas piping within the common utility tunnel followed by unknown ignition; the study then calculated the extent of the impact of the explosion on the facilities above, and suggested the needs for designing additional safety measures. Two scenarios were selected per operating condition of safety devices and the consequence analysis was carried out with FLACS, one of the CFD tools for explosion simulation. The overpressures for all scenarios are substantial enough to completely destroy most of the buildings. In addition, we have provided additional measures to secure safety especially reducing incident frequency.

  • In this study, we assumed the kitchen fire raising the highest fire rate in apt. and analyzed the fire risk to use CFD in order to estimate the problem of evacuation equipment and the fire vulnerability of 16 or fewer storey apartment. Fire occurring in the kitchen is expended to the livingroom and other rooms. We analyzed that the temperature effected by heat was more than $60^{\circ}C$ after 90 sec in the entrance of apartment unit. If fire is early recognized by men and men don't escape in time, it have too huge demage to block the exit. When the evacuation equipment suggested in this study was installed in order to solve the problem of evacuation equipment, we analyzed that it was estimated more than safe in safety evaluation by heat and heat flux.

Mechanical Stability Analysis of a High-Level Waste Repository for Determining Optimum Cavern and Deposition Hole Spacing (고준위폐기물 처분장의 최적 공동간격 및 처분공간격을 결정하기 위한 역학적 안정성 해석)

  • Based on the preliminary results from the therm analysis, which is currently carrying, three-dimensional computer simulations using a finite element code, ABAQUS Ver. 5.8, were designed to determine the mechanically stable cavern and deposition hole spacing. Linear elastic modeling for the cases with different cavern and deposition hole spacing were carried out under three different in situ stress conditions. From the simulations, the response of the rock to the stress redistribution after the excavation of the openings could be investigated. Also the optimum cavern and deposition hole spacing could be estimated based on the factor of safety. When the in situ stress determined from the actual stress measurements in Korea were used, the case with cavern spacing of 40m and deposition hole spacing of 3m was in very stable condition, because the factor of safety was calculated as 3.42., When the in situ stress conditions for Sweden and Canada were used, the previous case, they seem to be in stable condition, since the factors of safety are still higher than 1.0. From these results, it was concluded that the rock will not fail even after the stress redistribution.

  • 원자력안전기술원이 참여하고 있는 배관건전성 국제공동연구 프로그램인 IPIRG-2에 대하여 그 배경과 과제의 구성 및 공동연구방법을 간략하게 소개하였으며, 그 1단계 연구 프로그램인 IPIRG-1에서의 연구결과를 요약기술하였다. 규제기관과 원자력 산업계가 모두 관심을 가지고 있는 기술적인 주제들이 다루어지고 있는 이 국제공동연구는 원자력발전소의 건전성에 관한 매우 중요한 결과를 제공할 것으로 믿는다. 또, 여러 기관이 컨소시엄 형태로 공동연구를 수행함으로써 연구의 중복성을 피하고 연구비의 한계성을 극복하면서 각 기관이 보유한 고유의 기술들을 집 대성한다는 점에 대해서도 주목할 가치가 있다. 이 글에서는 IPIRG-2 프로그램의 전반적인 목 표와 연구수행체계만 간략하게 소개하였는데, 다음 기회에는 각 소과제에 대한 기술적인 내용에 대해서 기술하게 될 것이다.
