  • 매년 장마철에는 수막현상으로 인한 교통사고가 빈번하게 발생한다. 본 연구는 수막 형성 억제를 위해 타이어 앞부분에 설치되는 공기 분사 장치의 성능을 평가하는 것으로서, 공기 분사에 의한 수막 형성 억제를 모사할 수 있는 실험 장치를 제작하고, 수막 형성 억제 과정을 가시화하여 공기 분사 장치의 성능을 파악하고자 한다. 실험 변수로서 노즐의 형상 3가지와 수막에 대한 분사각 3가지에 대해 상세히 그 영향을 조사하였으며, 그 결과 분사각은 10도(지면에 대해서는 80도), 노즐 형상은 일자형일 때 수막 억제 효과가 가장 큰 것으로 파악되었다.

  • 본 연구는 터보 과급기 부착 디젤 기관의 급가속 운전시 기관과 과급기의 과도 응답 성능을 규명하고 이를 개선하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 과도 응답 성능 구명은 일정한 회전 속도로 정상 운전중인 기관의 연료 펌프 랙을 10%에서 40%까지 일정 시간동안 급가속하였을 경우에 대하여 수행하였으며, 이때의 과급기 응답 지연 현상을 개선하기 위한 실험은 급가속과 동시에 압축기 출구의 흡기메니폴드 내에 일정한 압력의 공기를 추가 분사하는 방법을 이용하였다. 그리고 공기 분사 압력, 공기분사 기간, 가속률, 가속 시간 등이 압축기 출구의 압력과 온도, 터빈 입구의 압력과 온도, 실린더 압력, 기관과 과급기 회전 속도 등의 응답 성능에 미치는 영향을 가속전 정상 상태의 기관 회전 속도와 적용부하의 변화에 따라 시간의 함수로 나타내었다.

Study on the cavitation and noise characteristics by air injection in three dimensional hydrofoil (3차원 수중익에서 공기분사에 의한 캐비테이션 및 소음특성 연구)

  • In this study, changes in cavitation pattern and noise by air injection were investigated experimentally in a cavitation tunnel. Air injection system that can control the location and the amount of air was manufactured and installed in an elliptic wing that exhibits similar characteristics to those of a propeller blade. Various types of cavitation were simulated on the hydrofoil by adjusting the test conditions in the cavitation tunnel, and the changes in cavitation pattern and noise according to air injection were experimentally analyzed. It was shown that the noise characteristics varied depending on the position and the amount of air injection. This means that in order to apply the air injection technology to the propeller, it is necessary to optimize the air injection location and the amount of injection according to the cavitation characteristics.

  • The liquid column and spray trajectory have been experimentally studied in liquid jets injected into subsonic crossflow. With water as fuel injection velocity, injection angle were varied to provide of jet operation conditions. The Pulsed Shadowgraph Photography and Planar Liquid Laser Induced Fluorescence technique was used to determine the injection characteristics in a subsonic crossflow of air. And the mainly objectives of this research was to get a empirical formula of liquid column and spray region trajectory with forward and reversed injection of air stream. As the result, This research has been shown that each trajectories were spatially dependent on air-stream velocity, fuel injection velocity, various injection angle, and normalized injector exit diameter. Furthermore, the empirical formula of liquid column trajectories has been some different of drag coefficient results between forward and reversed angled injection.

  • In this paper, noise characteristics of bubbles created by an orifice-type bubble generator are studied. In order to understand the overall bubble noise characteristics, the bubble noise spectra proposed by Strasberg and Blake, respectively, are examined, and an air injection experiment was performed in the large cavitation tunnel of KRISO to measure the bubble noise. The experiments were performed under a quiescent condition and flow conditions using 5 types of air bubble generator. From the measurement results, the characteristics of the bubble noise spectrum according to the experimental conditions are observed, and the effect of each parameter on bubble noise is analyzed by regression analysis. Finally, empirical models based on the regression analysis for bubble noise are presented, and it is confirmed that the estimated bubble noise is in good agreement with the measured results.

  • 균일한 속도를 갖는 주유동장에 연료를 분사하였을때 분사된 연료가 주유동장의 공기와 혼합되는 정도를 정량적으로 설명하기 위하여 실험과 수치 계산을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 혼합 진전 정도를 나타내기 위하여 혼합진전변수(mixing progress variable)를 도입하여 유동조건에 따라 혼합 정도를 정량적으로 비교하였다. 주유동 속도가 일정할때 분사 속도를 증가시키면 연료가 주유동장의 공기와 혼합이 촉진됨을 알 수 있었다.

Study on the Combination of In-situ Chemical Oxidation Method by using Hydrogen Peroxide with the Air-sparging Method for Diesel Contaminated Soil and Groundwater (과산화수소를 이용한 현장원위치 화학적 산화법과 공기분사법(Air-sparging)을 연계한 디젤 오염 토양/지하수 동시 정화 실내 실험 연구)

  • Laboratory scale experiments were performed to investigate the removal efficiency of the in-situ chemical oxidation method and the air-sparging method for diesel contaminated soil and groundwater. Two kinds of diesel contaminated soils (TPH concentration : 2,401 mg/kg and 9,551 mg/kg) and groundwater sampled at Busan railroad station were used for the experiments. For batch experiments of chemical oxidation by using 50% hydrogen peroxide solution, TPH concentration of soil decreased to 18% and 15% of initial TPH concentration. For continuous column experiments, more than 70% of initial TPH in soil was removed by using soil flushing with 20% hydrogen peroxide solution, suggesting that most of diesel in soil reacted with hydrogen peroxide and degraded into $CO_2$ or $H_2O$ gases. Batch experiment for the air-sparging method with artificially contaminated groundwater (TPH concentration : 810 mg/L) was performed to evaluate the removal efficiency of the air-sparging method and TPH concentration of groundwater decreased to lower than 5 mg/L (waste water discharge tolerance limit) within 72 hours of air-sparging. For box experiment with diesel contaminated real soil and groundwater, the removal efficiency of air-sparging was very low because of the residual diesel phase existed in soil medium, suggesting that the air-sparging method should be applied to remediate groundwater after the free phase of diesel in soil medium was removed. For the last time, the in-situ box experiment for a unit process mixed the chemical oxidation process with the air-sparging process was performed to remove diesel from soil and groundwater at a time. Soil flushing with 20% hydrogen peroxide solution was applied to diesel contaminated soils in box, and subsequently contaminated groundwater was purified by the air-sparging method. With 23 L of 20% hydrogen peroxide solution and 2,160 L of air-sparging, TPH concentration of soil decreased from 9,551 mg/kg to 390 mg/kg and TPH concentration of groundwater reduced to lower than 5 mg/L. Results suggested that the combination process of the in-situ hydrogen peroxide flushing and the air-sparging has a great possibility to simultaneously remediate fuel contaminated soil and groundwater.

  • An experimental study for reducing the exhaust hydrocarbon emission at spark ignition engine using timed secondary air injection is carried out . In this study, secondary air injection timings and durations are controlled to decrease the hydrocarbon emission and to increase exhaust gas temperature at cold and warm-up engine conditions. The hydrocarbon reduction rate and exhaust gas temperature are compared between timed secondary air injection and continuous air injection. The optimum secondary air injection timing for reducing the hydrocarbon emission is at the exhaust valve open timing. At some engine conditions , the hydrocarbon emissions are decreased to 10% of engine raw values and exhaust gas temperatures increase by 20$0^{\circ}C$ with times secondary air injection . Timed secondary air injection has more hydrocarbon reduction rate that continuous secondary air injection except some engine conditions.

  • 여러 가지 다른 형태의 노즐을 공기 선회식 버너와 공기의 선회가 없는 버너(CB-125 Burner)에 장치하여 공기 분사식으로 오일을 분사하여 연소로에서 연소시켰다. 연소로는 길이 3m에 약 1m 상(3) 의 연소공간을 가졌으며 상부에는 열전대를 장치하고 하부에는 물이 흐르는 관을 설치하여 열효율을 계산할 수 있게 설계하였다. 연소로 연돌부에는 CO 하(2), CO, O 하(2) 가스 분석기를 사용하여 과잉공기량과 고온계로 배기가스 온도를 측정하도록 하였다. 모든 측정치는 연소곡선과 효율곡선에 의하여 얻어진 상수를 이용하여 계산한 연소로 성능방정식에 의하여 평가하였다. 실험치에 의해 계산한 벽면 열손실량과 열전달 공식에 의해 산출한 열손실량을 비교 분석하여 측정치의 정확도를 추정하고 과잉공기의 효과도 검토하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 사용된 두 종류의 버너와 여러 형태의 노즐이 오일 연소시 열효율 면에서 큰 차이를 보이지 않고 있음을 알았다.

Experimental Research of Multi-Stage Axial Compressor Stability Enhancement by Air Injection (다단 축류압축기의 안정성 개선을 위한 실험적 연구)

  • A rotating stall, an instable phenomenon of compressor, brings about reducing the pressure rise, the efficiency of compressor and a mechanical demage. In order to improve instability and extend operating range, it was performed that a stability enhancement experiment applying air injection method at the 4-stage low-speed axial compressor. The coanda nozzle was used to inject air in axial direction at rotor tip and 8 injectors were set up at regular interval at the upstream of 1st stage rotor. At 80% speed, injectors were worked before rotating stall happened. As injecting the 5.4% air of mode inception flow rate, the stability of compressor operation enhanced about 4%.
