Experimental Study of Operating Parameters for Pneumatic Control Valve in Abnormal Conditions (공기구동 제어밸브 비정상상태 운전변수에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • A pneumatic control valve performs a major role in controlling the flow of a system or the level of a key tank in many power plants, and its performance should be guaranteed during the plant's lifetime. Its operation starts by supplying air to the pneumatic actuator or by exhausting the air from the actuator. To control the valve position, the amount of air supply or exhaust is adjusted by a control loop where various accessaries are equipped. In this paper, air leakage in the air supply line, changes in the valve packing force, and false adjustments of zero and the span of the positioner are simulated and analyzed using a 2-in pneumatic valve with a position control loop including an I/P converter and positioner, where the valve position is controlled within ${\pm}2%$ of the control pressure at 67% opening position.

  • A free vibration analysis of air-operated valve(AOV) is investigated. The vibration characteristics of AOV with size variations are studied. The effects of inner pressure on the natural frequencies are also studied. The analytical results are compared with expermental results.

  • Power plants rely on air operated valves for the proper operation of many plant system. Many significant problems arise in vital systems of power plants due to air operated valve failures. This paper deals with the diagnosis technique and data acquisition method of an AOV actuator peformance. We constructed AOV diagnosis system and performed some tests to find out whether an AOV actuator was properly designed.

  • 원자력발전소의 안전성 확보를 위해서, 설비의 유지 관리 기법은 고장이 발생했을 때 조치하는 고장정비에서부터 고장을 미연에 방지하기 위한 예방정비, 예측정비 그리고 상태기반정비로 진행되어 가고 있다. 국내 원자력발전소에서는 고장정비와 예방 정비가 적용되고 있으며, 예측정비와 상태기반정비에 대한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모터구동밸브, 공기구동밸브, 역지밸브 그리고 펌프에 대한 예방정비 현황과 기술 개발 동향에 대해 살펴보았다.

  • The prediction of AOV(air-operated valve) performance is normally evaluated by the allowable opening thrust margin for the opening and closing stroke. However, it is not easy to carry out the dynamic test measurement for all the valves in the nuclear power plant due to the safety and operating conditions. The analysis of the available and required thrust for the valve is simulated as an alternate method to turn around this obstacle. The required air pressures to the stem displacement are discussed for differential valve pressure obtained by experiment. The result of the simulation is compared with that of the experiment. SIMULINK in MATLAB was used for the simulation and the results show good agreement with the actual test carried out with Fisher globe valve.
