High Speed Positioning of a Pneumatic Control System with a $H_{\infty}$ Controller ($H_{\infty}$ 제어기를 이용한 공기압 구동시스템의 위치제어 성능 향상에 관한 연구)

  • To improve control performance, especially positioning speed, of a pneumatic positioning system, dynamic characteristics of a control valve should be considered. In case we design controller including dynamic characteristics of a control valve, it's not easy to design controller gain using simple state feedback because degree of a control system is increased. This study designed controller using loop shaping of $H_{\infty}$ control theory for a model composed of a pneumatic actuator and a control valve, and positioning experiment using this controller was performed. As a result, it was verified that the controller is useful for high speed positioning of a pneumatic positioning system.

Study on the Aeroservoelastic Stability Analysis with ZAERO (ZAERO를 활용한 서보공력탄성학적 안정성 해석기법 연구)

  • The aeroservoelastic analysis that deals with the interactions of the inertial, elastic, and aerodynamic forces and the influence of the control system have been performed. MSC Nastran was used for the free vibration analysis of the structure model as the pre-analysis. ZAERO was used to calculate the unsteady aerodynamic forces. The unsteady aerodynamic forces were verified by comparing with Doublet Hybrid Method. Karpel's Minimum-State Approximation method was used for approximation of the aerodynamic forces to the Laplace domain in the frequency domain. The aeroservoelastic state-space equation was obtained by combining the aeroelastic equation with the actuator dynamics. The analysis of aeroservoelastic stability concerning the elevator input of the high aspect ratio model was performed. The root-locus method and time-integration method were used for the analysis of aeroservoelastic in frequency and time domain.

Theoretical approach on the heating and cooling system design for an effective operation of Li-ion batteries for electric vehicles (전기구동 자동차용 리튬이온 배터리의 고효율 운전을 위한 냉방 및 난방 시스템 설계에 대한 이론적 접근법)

  • This study is aiming to suggest the effective thermal management system design technologies for the high voltage and capacity battery system of the electricity driven vehicles and introduce the theoretical designing methods. In order to investigate the effective operation of the battery system for the electricity driven vehicles, the heat generation model for Li-ion battery system using the chemical reaction while charging and discharging was suggested and the thermal loads of the heat sources (air or liquid) for cooling and heating were calculated using energy balance. Especially, the design methods for the cooling and heating of the battery system for maintaining the optimum operation temperature were investigated under heating, cooling and generated heat (during charging and discharging) conditions. The battery thermal management system for the effective battery operation of the electricity driven vehicles was suggested reasonably depending on the variation of the season and operation conditions. In addition, at the same conditions under summer season, the cooling method using the liquid and active cooling technique showed a relatively high capacity, while cooling method using the passive cooling technique showed a relatively low capacity.

A Study on Stability Improvement of Fuel Metering Unit for Air Breathing Engine (공기흡입식 추진기관용 연료조절밸브 시스템 안정성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • This paper deals with a fuel metering unit (referred to as FMU) for air breathing engine. The proposed FMU consists of a constant pressure drop valve and a metering valve, both of which are controlled by servovalve. Linear analysis derived from a nonlinear mathematical model of FMU is carried out to find major parameters on the system performance. Numerical results using established model of FMU were in good agreement with the experimental results. It is also shown that the system stability is improved by reducing the constant pressure drop at metering valve and applying the triangular orifice to constant-pressure-drop valve through the simulation and experiments.

밀폐형 압축기의 소음진동에 대한 연구 예와 시급한 연구과제에 관하여

  • 압축기의 종류는 크게 dynamic type과 positive displacement type으로 우선 나눌 수 있다. 전자는 제트엔진에 사용되는 압축기에서 보는 바와 같이 기체의 속도를 변화시켜 동압을 정압으로 바꾸어 압력을 얻는 경우이다. 후자는 기체를 둘러싼 체적을 줄여서 압력을 얻는데 가전제품에 쓰이는 냉각용 압축기의 대부분의 종류가 이에 해당된다. 압축 기체의 종류에 따라 공기 압축기, 가스 압축기, 냉각용 압축기로도 나눌 수 있겠다. 냉각용 압축기는 다시 여러 가지 방법으로 분류할 수 있겠지만, 구동 모타의 용량이나 냉각 용량에 따라, 대형, 소형으로 분류하거나, 압축기를 둘러싼 셀의 구조에 따라 밀폐형과 반 밀폐형으로 나눌 수 있다. 밀폐형은 냉매를 반 영구적으로 보충할 필요가 없도록 용접형 셀을 가진 구조로 압축기를 다시 열어서 보수할 수가 없다. 냉장고나 냉방기 같은 가전 제품에 쓰이는 압축기는 대부분 소형 밀폐형이 되겠다. 산업용의 중,대형 압축기는 보수의 목적으로, 자동차 냉방용 압축기는 동력이 엔진축에서 공급되는 구조 상의 이유로 반 밀폐형이 채택된다. 보수가 사실상 불가능한 밀폐형의 구조 상 소형 냉장용 압축기는 거의 무한 수명을 감안한 설계를 요하게 되고, 이것이 압축기의 보수적인 설계 및 개발 성향에 어느 정도 영향을 주었다고 볼 수 있다. 이런 소형 밀폐형 압축기(positive displacement, fractional horsepower, hermetic compressor)에 관한 연구의 소개가 이 글의 주 관심이 되겠다. 압력을 얻기 위해 체적을 변화시키는 mechanism도 여러 가지가 있는 바, 왕복동식 피스톤(reciprocating piston) 압축기가 가장 오랫동안 사용되어 온 구조이다. 회전식으로 압축을 얻는 방식으로는 로타리 피스톤식, 스크류식, 스크롤식 압축기가 있다. 로타리 피스톤(rotary piston)식 압축기는 약 20여년 전 부터 냉방용 압축기에서부터 널리 쓰이게 되었다. 약 10여년전부터 상용화 된 스크롤(scroll) 형 압축기도 현재 상대적으로 용량이 큰 가정용 냉방기를 중심으로 많이 쓰이고 있다. 스크류형 압축기는 보통 중대형 상업용에 주로 쓰인다.

Robust Control of Pneumatic Cylinder Driving System using Sliding Mode Controller (슬라이딩모드 제어기를 이용한 공기압 실린더 구동장치의 강인제어)

  • The pneumatic driving system has advantages such as high output power per weight and low heat generation rate. However, it is difficult to control the position because of its strong non-linearity such as large friction forces compared to driving force, and heat transfer characteristics that change during operation. Therefore, in order to achieve the control objectives, a robust controller should be designed considering modeling error and model uncertainty. In this paper, a sliding mode controller is designed to improve the position control performance of pneumatic cylinder driving system. Experimental results show that the designed controller achieves the designed control objectives even if the model of the cylinder driving system, such as the initial pressure inside the cylinder and the initial position of the piston is changed.

  • Air-operated valve is one of principal valves that are using to control fluid flow. A period diagnosis for safety of power plants is necessary. But there are many difficulties such as economic loss caused by intone of high cost devices and a matter hard to deal with users. In this study we developed the diagnosis system that usersofpower plants are easy to handle. The diagnosis system is composed of database module, reliability analysis module, design safety nodule and diagnosis test and evaluation module.

  • Air-operated valves are extensively used for process control and system isolation functions in nuclear power plant, where the safety is primary issue. The purpose of this study is to develop structural analysis code of various air-operated valves such as globe valve, gate valve, and butterfly valve. The thrust formula is derived for valve with the expected weak areas. The expected weak areas are referred from EPRI data. The structural stress analysis is carried out by analytical and commercial FEM code, ANSYS 8.0. The numerical results are compared together and verified on program procedures.

  • A 600HP class high-speed gear driven 3-stage turbo-compressor (IGCC : Integrally Geared Centrifugal Compressor) driven by a 3600 rpm AC induction motor has been designed, of which low speed pinion runs at 35000 rpm and high speed pinion at 50000 rpm nominally. Due to its high speed operation, the system requires very reliable bearing selection and design as well as accurate rotordynamic analysis and prediction of its dynamic behavior to secure the operating reliability. Rotordaynamic analyses of the IGCC rotor-bearing system predicted that the low speed pinion rotor mounted on 5-pad tilting pad bearings has two critical speeds before its design speed and high speed pinion rotor only one critical speed, and estimated critical speeds of both pinion shafts are away from the continuous operating speed enough to satisfy the corresponding API requirement. The forced response analysis with API specified maximum allowable unbalances also showed that unbalance responses are small enough for smooth operation of the system.

  • 본 논문은 기존의 5축 치아가공기나 반도체장비등에 사용하고 있는 회전형 모터의 경우는 엔코더와 리졸버를 사용하고 있다. 엔코더와 레졸버는 고가이므로 실제 산업현장에서 전동기의 위치 센서로는 적용하기가 힘들다. 또한 엔코더와 레졸버와 같은 광학식 위치센서는 그 크기와 내구성에 있어 약점이 있기 때문에 취부 할 때에도 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 5축치아가공기에 적용하기 위해서 자석가동자를 만들었으며, 이러한 문제점을 해결하는 방안으로 리니어모터를 고정자로 하고 자석플레이트를 이동자로 하는 시스템과 별도의 리니어 스케일을 배제하고 기존의 정현파를 발생하는 2개의 리니어홀센서 및 영구자석을 이용하여 가동자의 절대위치와 이동 위치를 검출할 수 있는 리니어 모터 및 그 제어방법, 안정성 및 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있는 자석가동자를 이용하여 구동시 실시간으로 데이터를 확인할 수 있고 제어할 수 있는 모니터링 시스템을 개발하는 연구이다.
