디젤기관의 LPG 혼합에 의한 오염배출물 저감특성 (Emission characteristics of diesel engine by mixing LPG)

  • In this study, the characteristics of decreasing exhaust gas of diesel engine was examined in dual fuel method by using commertial LPG for automotive. LPG was supplied to engine intake port by fumigation method and flow rate was controlled by using the needle valve. LPG supply ratios were 0, 20, 30% of total fuel amount to be supplied to engine by mass base. We investigated the effect of LPG supply ratio on exhaust gas concentrations related to excess air ratio and engine load at 1600, 1800, 2000 rpm. Soot concentration decreased about 30% in proportion to the increase of the LPG supply ratio. NOx concentration decreased in proportion to the increase of the LPG than diesel only and the increase rate was higher at low engine load. BSFC(Brake specific fuel consumption) was lower in proportion to the increase of the LPG supply ratio at high engine load and to the decrease of LPG supply ratio at low engine load.

  • Concern for new and renewable energy is growing globally. Biogas is one of the alternative fuels and consists of methane and carbon dioxide. It is difficult to achieve efficient engine operation due to a lower heating value of biogas compared to that of natural gas. In order to improve generating efficiency, finding an optimum point of ignition timing and excess air ratio is important. From this fact, generating efficiency and pollutant emissions of 2300cc gas engine generator operated by biogas as functions of ignition timings and excess air ratios were investigated in this study. As a test result, the generating efficiency of the gas engine generator using biogas was 27.34 % in the condition of the BTDC of $16^{\circ}$ and the excess air ratio of 1.4.

  • This paper presents the performance and characteristics of small spark-ignited small 2-stroke engine. A single cylinder, two-stroke, air cooled 23cc SI engine for brush-cutter was used in this study. For the performance of the engine, rpm, torque, fuel consumption and lubricate oil consumption were measured, and also HC, CO, NOx emissions and excess air ratio according to throat open ratio under two lubrication method were measured and analyzed. The results showed that maximum of engine rpm is nearly same in both methods and also, torque, power is similar. exhaust emissions tend to decrease with throat open ratio.

대형 LPG 엔진의 노크 특성에 관한 연구 (The Study on Knock Characteristics of Heavy Duty LPG Engine)

  • LPG has been well known as a clean alternative fuel for vehicles. Recently, several LPG engines for heavy duty vehicles have been developed, which can replace some diesel engines that are one of the main sources for air pollution in the urban area. Because cylinder bore of heavy duty LPG engine is larger than that of gasoline, the study of knock characteristics of LPG engine are needed. In this study, the knock characteristics were investigated with various engine speed, air excess ratios and LPG fuel compositions. Experimental results indicated that the Knock occurrence probability decreases with increasing engine speed and propane fraction of fuel. The Knock occurrence probability is highest at excess air ratio of 1 and decreases as the mixture strength became leaner.

예연소실 점화 플러그의 화염 분출구 직경에 따른 매립지가스의 연소 특성 (Combustion Characteristics of Land Fill Gas according to the Diameter of the Flame outlet of the Pre-chamber Spark Plug)

  • 본 연구는 LFG(Land Fill Gas)의 주성분인 메탄(CH4) 60%와 이산화탄소(CO2) 40%로 구성된 매립지가스를 활용하여 정적연소 환경에서 연소의 초기 불안정성을 해결할 수 있는 실험적인 연구결과를 제안하는 것이다. 실험조건은 공기과잉율 0.9~1.6, 초기연소를 위한 압축압력 3bar, 실험주변온도 25℃, 실험용 연료가스 메탄, 예연소실 화염 분출구 직경 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5mm로 설정하였다. 실험결과 M3.0 모델에서 초기화염의 확산성이 매우 증가된 특성을 확인할 수 있으며, 이와 같은 증가의 특성은 공기 과잉률이 0.9, 1.0, 1.2에서 오리피스의 효과가 극도로 향상하게 되었다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로, 본 실험을 통하여 M3.0으로 설계된 예연소실 화염 분출구 치수를 LFG에 적용할 경우 기존의 점화 플러그 특성 보다 부분적인 연소의 성능을 높일 수 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.

CNG 직접분사식 연소기에서의 연소 라디칼 특성 (Characteristics of Combustion Radical in CNG Direct Injection Vessel)

  • A cylindrical constant volume combustion chamber was used to investigate the combustion characteristics of stratified methane-air mixture under several initial charge conditions in the author's previous reports. The results showed that the improvement of thermal efficiency and reduction of heat loss was realized simultaneously by using 2-stage injection method. This paper deals with the reason why the stratified combustion has showed better combustion rate through the measurement and analysis of chemiluminescence of C $H^{*}$ and $C_{2}$$^{*}$ radicals. An optic fiber bundle is used to measure the local emission of C $H^{*}$ and $C_{2}$$^{*}$ radicals to map the relationship between the excess air ratio and local radical intensity ratio in the combustion vessel at 5 mm apart form the geometric center. The results show that there exist a relationship between the intensity ratio and the air-fuel ratio. It is revealed that the improvement of combustion rate in a lean-stratified mixture is realized through the 2-stage injection method. method.

유동층을 이용한 유,무연탄 혼합 연소로에서 대기오염물질 생성과 연소효율 연구 (A Study on Production of Air Pollutants and Combustion Efficiency of Anthracite-Bituminous Coal Blend Combustor Using Fluidized Bed)

  • 본 연구는 유동층연소로에서 유,무연탄 혼합연소시 대기오염물질 발생과 연소효율에 관하여 실험하였으며, 실험결과는 다음과 같다. 유동층연소로 높이가 증가할수록 이산화황과 질소산화물의 농도는 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 무연탄 혼합비가 증가할수록 이산화황의 농도는 증가하였으나 질소산화물농도는 큰 변화가 없었다. 무연탄 혼합비가 증가할수록 비산유출율도 증가하였고 주입 가연성분에 대한 유출 가연성분비도 증가하였다. 또한, 무연탄 혼합비에 관계없이 비산유출입자의 평균입경에 따른 미연분 함량은 미세입자에서 대체로 높게 나타났다. 한편, 연소효율은 층온도 $850^{\circ}C$, 과잉공기 20% 이상에서 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으므로 유속 0.3m/s, 층온도 $850^{\circ}C$, 과잉공기비 20%의 조건으로 혼합연소시키는 것이 적절한 것으로 나타났다.

메탄, 에탄 및 프로판 가스 연료의 촉매연소에 관한 매개변수 연구 (A Parametric Study on the Catalytic Combustion of Gaseous Methane, Ethane and Propane Fuels)

  • 촉매연소는 희박조건에서 작동할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 UHC, CO, 그리고 NOx와 같은 공해물질의 배출을 억제할 수 있기 때문에 연소효율이 좋고 환경친화적인 연소방식이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 백금계열의 촉매를 이용한 $CH_4$, $C_2H_6$, 그리고 $C_3H_8$ 연료의 촉매연소 특성에 관한 수치해석 연구를 수행하였다. 1차원 및 Langmuir-Hinshelwood 모델을 적용한 지배방정식을 설명한 후 촉매연소기의 설계변수, 즉, 입구온도, 과잉공기비, 그리고 공간속도가 촉매연소에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 사용된 연료 중에서 $C_3H_8$의 화학적 구조 및 반응성 때문에 출구온도 및 전환율이 가장 높음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 초소형 터보제트엔진에 적용되는 반경형 연소기에 대한 전부하 연소리그시험과 고고도 점화시험을 수행하였다. 지상정지, 표준대기 조건에서 엔진의 최대운용점에서 연소리그시험과 기본 점화시험을 수행한 결과, 11.2%의 압력손실과 99.85%의 최종 성능을 도출하였으며, 주 시동영역에서 공기과잉율 $2{\sim}6$의 점화영역이 측정되었다. 30,000 ft 고고도 점화시험을 실시하여 고공환경에서의 점화영역을 측정하였고, 이러한 결과를 통해 개발된 연소기의 설계가 타당함을 입증하였다.

  • This paper presents the effects of excess air factors(0.84${\sim}$0.90) and opened throttle area ratios(AR=0.15${\sim}$0.25) on the emission and performance of a small spark-ignition gasoline engine. The engine used in this paper was a single cylinder, diaphragm carburetor, two-stroke, air-cooled 26cc engine for brush cutter. The rpm, torque, fuel consumption and CO emission were measured under the four different excess air factors and three different opened area ratios conditions on the engine loads respectively. The results showed that the rpm was decreased and torque was increased at increasing load, the maximum power and minimum fuel consumption could be obtained critical rpm on each throttle opened area ratios and brake specific fuel consumption was decreased 13${\sim}$17%, CO emissions was decreased 21${\sim}$38% at excess air factor 0.90 than 0.84.
