  • 핵 가족화, 고령화가 가속화되고 도시 독거노인 및 독신인구가 급증합에 따라, 외로움과 소외감을 극복하고 또 다른 형태의 가족적 유대감을 얻기 위하여 반려동물, 반려인들이 날로 증가하고 있다. 반려동물 문화는 급격히 발전하고 있는데 반해, 이를 지탱할 수 있는 사회나 문화적 의식과 공공 기반시설의 질적수준은 초기 단계수준이다. 반려견 소유자와 일반인들 사이에 갈등이 발생하여 관련 제도나 법에 대해 논란이 되고 있다. 갈등과 논란을 해소하며 반려동물 문화 발전에 기여하고자 본 연구는 도시 내 반려인 전용 주거 시설의 개념과 역할, 공동 주거 시설로서의 사회적 필요성을 고찰하고, 새로운 공동 집합 주거 공간의 방향을 제안한다.

A Study on the Analysis and Expansion Plan of Public Library Services in the COVID-19 Pandemic (코로나19에 대응하는 공공도서관 서비스 분석 및 확대방안 연구)

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the landscape of knowledge and information services that public libraries around the world have been providing since modern times. In particular, as social distancing has become routine, the contraction of cultural activities and the shift to online platforms have negatively impacted library visitation and use services, greatly reducing borrowing and reading, use of spaces and facilities, interlibrary loan services, program operations, and outreach services. Therefore, this study investigated and analyzed the current status of services provided by public libraries in Korea and abroad in response to COVID-19, and proposed practical ways to improve and expand services in response to COVID-19 based on the results of a survey of librarians' perceptions. Specifically, these include improving the online reservation system for reading and borrowing services and developing and providing various outreach services, acquiring and expanding electronic resources, expanding online program services (reading, culture, lifelong learning, etc.), strengthening library services for vulnerable populations, providing information portal services related to new infectious diseases, strengthening facilities and space provision services, preparing infectious disease response guidelines, and providing education and training to strengthen librarians' capabilities.

  • The study strives to shed a light on the users' perception and demand on public libraries in Busan area through a survey asking the facility, materials and service conditions in public libraries. Data are drawn from a survey with three hundred respondents. The survey was implemented to figure out current status and needs regarding library facility, materials, and cultural programs. Supporting data are collected via interview as well. Since this paper discusses such an issue as current situation in public libraries, this study could provide the policy makers with basic information in developing and improving public library programs in Busan area.

  • Sustainable development is the main stream of urban development in 21st century. Also, in contemporary cultural space, it is the pivotal paradigm that the development of culture complex and mixture of cultural space, educational facilities, information technology and public space. So, the purpose of this paper lies in presentation for building culture complex belt for innovation city. For this purpose, this paper has reviewed the developmental trend of cultural facilities, has analyzed cultural environment of Naju city, has set the vision and the strategy for Naju innovation city up, and finally has suggested and planned the method of culture complex belt for sustainable new town development.

The Analysis Research about Library Service for the Disabled in Korea (우리나라 도서관의 장애인서비스에 관한 분석 연구)

  • This paper analyzes the quality of library services for disabled by studying the service of national public libraries and libraries for the disabled. The sample consists of 768 public libraries and 36 libraries for the disabled. The evaluation criteria is composed of six areas: general, amenities, substitute data, complementary device, source/information service, and culture program. The findings show various deviations depending on the library operator, contents and region. The research also shows that the service quality for the disabled is higher in libraries with specialized worker for this type of library services.

A Study on the Status and Ways to Improvement Directions of Reading Culture Promotion for Reading Disables In Busan Metropolitan City (부산광역시 독서소외계층 독서문화진흥 현황 및 발전 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify ways in which to improve assistance of reading culture promotion for reading disables in Busan Metropolitan City. The research conducted a survey on reading culture promotion works which were conducted through related public institutions, private organizations and facilities for disadvantaged class, including public libraries. This study analyzed the situations in Busan. The Results indicated promotional strategies are needed in reading culture for the handicapped. This study suggest ways in which to improve assistance through analytical research which are models of mutual cooperation for reading culture promotion in Busan.

Public facilities design considering preferred design image (디자인 선호이미지를 고려한 공공시설물 디자인)

  • As the cultural importance of local environment has been increasing, interests of local residents for city design has also increased. City design can inspire local residents' pride and redefine the city image to both local and outside world. Therefore, this study analyzes the city's(Pohang city) status, environmental characteristics, and local residents' design image preference; and based on the analysis, this study suggests standard design for public facilities that constitute "streets", that can realize the city image identity. For the suggestion, scenery image and public facilities status of the twenty-four areas in the city were analyzed. Also, to decide the design direction of public facilities that can constitute the city's consistent ideology, thoughts, and image, design preference factors for public facilities by local residents were surveyed and analyzed. The design guidelines and a standard design were established for total of thirty-one public facilities based on the analysis. The outcome will enable provision of communication media to express the charming city image and also of material that can be reflected in the integrated city scenery project in the future.

Measures to Implements the Landscape Conservation and Management Urban Heritage Utilizing Public Goods: Focused on the Historic Sites of Seoul (공공재를 활용한 도시유산의 경관 보전 및 관리개선방안 - 서울시 사적을 중심으로 -)

  • The this study aimed to expand urban heritage using Public Goods and to suggest the assemblage of urban heritage and urban spaces in order to improve landscape conservation and management scheme of urban heritage exposed to a rapidly changing urban environment. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows: First, in order to improve understanding of the heritage in urban spaces, urban heritage were illustrated on a 1:1000 map with all the public facilities surrounding it using a cultural heritage conservation map listed on the Cultural Heritage Administration's web site, standards for changing present condition, and a topographic map. Second, the status and changes of urban heritage and surroundings were analyzed using the minutes of Historical Cultural Heritage Division Committee for 10 years from 2005 to 2014 to create a status map of urban heritage. Land uses surrounding the urban heritage were investigated the areas of conservation potential and the places that can enhance the to find out values of urban heritage. Also, a profile was created to examine the site characteristics surrounding urban heritage, and photos were taken at important heritage areas and public facilities in order to record the field. Third, analyzed were the relationship of the distance, location, function, and distribution between urban heritage and public facilities surrounding the heritage. using visual features and moving routes in order to identify their impacts on urban heritage and their functions as potential resources. In addition, the role of Public Goods in urban spaces and the plan for revitalizing surrounding areas asset were examined. Fourth, selections were made on Public Goods that have direct or indirect effects on urban heritage. The role of public asset was investigated through visual, areal, and linear elements. The results were summarized to suggest improvement landscape and management mauser on of urban heritage.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest IC concepts and some basic ideas of construction of public library's application model based of NDL IC Model. In order to successful introduction and construction of IC in public library, it should be preceded that some ideas of IC space concepts and constructual direction, physical space and facilities plan and gradual progress that introduce to the IC concepts.

  • Being one of the municipality belonging to a large metropolitan city, there are areas with a special environment of rural characteristics that are different from general urban areas. Gijang-gun of Busan Metropolitan City is a good example. Although it maintains the highest level of the number of patrons per public library and the number of books per capita in Busan, and is also promoting various projects to strengthen the knowledge and cultural competitiveness, in Gijang-gun, a Complex Area where rural and urban areas coexist, most of the resources are concentrated in urban areas, and cultural facilities that provide public services are lacking in relatively few rural areas. In this regard, this research strives to enhance the vision and strategy of the Gijang-gun's public libraries, reflecting the characteristics and needs of the patrons as viewed through their urban-rural complex environment.
