Hardware Design of Elliptic Curve processor Resistant against Simple Power Analysis Attack (단순 전력분석 공격에 대처하는 타원곡선 암호프로세서의 하드웨어 설계)

  • In this paper hardware implementation of GF($2^{191}$) elliptic curve cryptographic coprocessor which supports 7 operations such as scalar multiplication(kP), Menezes-Vanstone(MV) elliptic curve cipher/decipher algorithms, point addition(P+Q), point doubling(2P), finite-field multiplication/division is described. To meet structure resistant against simple power analysis, the ECC processor adopts the Montgomery scalar multiplication scheme which main loop operation consists of the key-independent operations. It has operational characteristics that arithmetic units, such GF_ALU, GF_MUL, and GF_DIV, which have 1, (m/8), and (m-1) fixed operation cycles in GF($2^m$), respectively, can be executed in parallel. The processor has about 68,000 gates and its simulated worst case delay time is about 7.8 ns under 0.35um CMOS technology. Because it has about 320 kbps cipher and 640 kbps rate and supports 7 finite-field operations, it can be efficiently applied to the various cryptographic and communication applications.

A Conical Indentation Technique Based on FEA Solutions for Property Evaluation (유한요소해에 기초한 원뿔형 압입 물성평가법)

  • The sharp indenters such as Berkovich and conical indenters have a geometrical self-similarity in theory, but different materials have the same load-depth curve in case of single indentation. In this study, we analyze the load-depth curves of conical indenter with angles of indenter via finite element method. From FE analyses of dual-conical indentation test, we investigate the relationships between indentation parameters and load-deflection curves. With numerical regressions of obtained data, we finally propose indentation formulae for material properties evaluation. The proposed approach provides stress-strain curve and the values of elastic modulus, yield strength and strain-hardening exponent with an average error of less than 2%. It is also discussed that the method is valid for any elastically deforming indenters made of tungsten carbide and diamond for instance. The proposed indentation approach provides a substantial enhancement in accuracy compared with the prior methods.

Computer Aided Design of the Fore and After Body of Fishing Vessel by Using B-Spline (B-Spline을 이용한 어선의 선수미부 초기 선형 설계)

  • The present paper describes a preliminary design method by using the computer graphics for creation of the fore and after body profiles of fishing vessel. It is well known that the Form Parameter design method has some merits at an early stage of design, and the B-spline curve generation technique has some prior properties in representing hull form with the computer graphic. The B-spline curve generation technique combined with the form parameter design method is employed to generate the profiles of fishing vessel. For fore body the stem profiles with bulbous bulb or without one are considered. And for after body the stern profiles of cruiser type and the transom type are generated with stern bulb or with shoe piece. Several examples will shown.

  • 기존 댐저수지 유입량 산정은 수위-저수량곡선에 댐축에서 측정된 수위를 적용하여 시간당 저수량변화를 계산한 후 방류량을 감안하여 산정하고 있으나, 특히 홍수시 저수지내의 수위가 균일하지 않아 유입량 산정 시 오차 원인이 되고 있다. 홍수기 댐 저수지의 운영에 있어서 가장 큰 불확실도를 가지고 있는 유입량의 정확한 모의를 위해서는 유역 상류 유입부 유량뿐 아니라 저수지 내에서의 수위관측 필요하며, 또한 기존 방법에 의한 유입량 계산의 오차 규명 필요하다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 GIS를 이용한 저수지의 저수위-저류량곡선 개선 및 댐저수지 구간별 수위관측을 통한 실시간 홍수 유입량 산정 시스템 도입이 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서 현행 댐 저수지에서 운영되고 있는 수위관측소를 포함하여 관측지점을 확대하고 실시간 수위관측이 가능한 통신체계를 구축하고자 하였다. 관측지점의 확대는 기존의 문제점을 해결하는데 있어 주요 지점의 수면 프로파일을 구축하여 호내 유입량 산정에 대한 재검토를 진행하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 구간별 수위 모의가 가능한 HEC-RAS 모형을 이용하여 저수지 내의 수면곡선 분포를 모의하고 저수지 내에서 관측한 수위자료와 비교하였다. 또한 관측된 수위자료의 체계적인 관리 체계 구축을 위해 실시간 모니터링이 가능하고, 통신망의 안전성 확보를 통한 결측 자료가 발생하지 않도록 USN Gateway와 CDMA를 연동하여 통신망을 구성하였다. 나아가, 댐 저수지 유입량 산정에 대한 재검토와 실시간 수위관측 방법에 대한 신기술 도입을 통하여 물관리 부서에 즉시 적용이 가능하도록 유입량 산정 방법과 센서 기술 적용 방법 및 확장성을 제시하였다.

Generating Curved Lines in a Windows based Navigation Mesh (윈도우 기반 네비게이션 메쉬에서 곡선 생성 기법)

  • In this paper, methods are proposed for creating a curved line in a navigation mesh, which is used in a windows based virtual reality or games. The main geographies used in a windows based virtual reality or games are created by using either grids or navigation meshes. When using grids, it is difficult to create a natural geography. Multiple grids are needed to ensure precise descriptions, which can result in system overload. A navigation mesh was developed to address this issue since the navigation mesh has the benefit of placing fewer loads on the system than a grid method. The drawback, however, is that the movements of character in navigation mesh are less natural. In this paper, a method for creating a curved line using round curves is proposed in order to resolve this issue. Using the methods for creating a curved line proposed in this paper in a windows based virtual reality or games will eliminate the unnatural or awkward movement of characters that arises in the use of a navigation mesh.

Influence of Tectonic Uplift on Longitudinal Profiles of Bedrock Rivers: Numerical Simulations (융기가 기반암 하상하천의 종단곡선에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 -수리 모형을 통한 연구-)

  • Longitudinal profiles of bedrock rivers play a fundamental role in landscape history by setting the boundary conditions for landform evolution. Longitudinal profiles are changed with climatic conditions, lithology and tectonic movements. Tectonic movement is an important factor controlling longitudinal profiles, especially in tectonically active area where uplift rates are regarded as a major factor controlling channel gradient. However study on bedrock channel has made little progress, because controls over bedrock river incision are yet to be clarified. Previous numerical simulations have used a simple diffusion model, which links together the overall processes of bedrock channel erosion as in other landform evolution models. In this study, previous bedrock incision models based on physical processes (especially abrasion) are reviewed and new modifications are introduced. Using newly formulated numerical model, the role of spatial pattern and intensity of tectonic uplift on changes in river longitudinal profile was simulated and discussed.

A Wheel Wear Analysis of Railway Vehicle on a Curved Section (곡선 구간에서 철도 차량 휠의 마모 특성 해석)

  • The wheel wear of a railway vehicle is mainly generated when maneuvering on a curved track. The change in the wheel profile affects the dynamic stability of the vehicle. In this analysis, the wheel wear volume was calculated while changing the velocity and radius of the curve to analyze the wear characteristics of a wheel at a curved section. The wear index was calculated from a vehicle dynamic analysis based on a multibody dynamics analysis and wear volume from a wear model by British Rail Research. The wear volume at a radius of 300 m is dominant compared with other radii. The wear volume was calculated by assigning different coefficients of friction to the tread and flange of the wheel to investigate the effect of lubrication on the wear characteristics. The effect of the improvement by lubrication is calculated by varying the radius of the track, and is assessed on an actual urban railway section.

  • 하천의 유량은 우리나라 수자원의 주요 구성원이므로 그 자료는 수자원 분야의 기초자료로서 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 하천의 유량을 알기 위한 연속적인 측정은 많은 비용과 인력 등으로 의해 현실적으로 어려운 일이다. 따라서 하천 수위와 측정된 유의 관계를 도시한 수위-유량관계곡선식(Stage-Discharge Rating Curve)으로 통상 유량을 산정하고 있다. 수위-유량곡선은 하천의 수자원의 계획 및 관리, 홍수예보, 수리시설물의 설계 등에 이용되고 있다. 그러나 하류에 보와 같은 구조물이 존재하는 경우 단순 수위-유량관계곡선식으로 유량을 환산하는 경우, 배수영향으로 인해 환산유량은 실제유량과 큰 차이가 나게 된다. 본 연구에서는 배수영향이 있는 곳의 동일수위에서 유량변화의 가장 큰 요인인 수면경사임을 착안하여 동일 수위에 대한 실제 현장의 수면경사와 유량관계 분석을 통해 수위-하강고-유량 관계를 정량적으로 파악하여 환산유량 편차를 줄이고자 하였다. 현장 지점은 창녕 합천보와 함안 창녕보 사이에 위치한 적포교 지점으로서 보의 수문개폐여부에 따른 수위-하강고-유량관계 분석을 통해 유량을 환산하고 현재 운영되고 있는 자동유량 측정치와 비교하였다. 단순 수위-유량곡선을 통해 환산한 유량 값과 하강고를 고려한 환산유량을 자동유량 측정치와 비교한 결과 각각 39.85%와 5.04%의 표준오차를 보여, 보다 정확한 환산유량 값을 구할 수 있었다. 따라서, 본 연구결과는 하류 보등 시설물이나 본류흐름 등에 의한 배수영향을 받는 지점에서의 환산유량을 기존보다 정확히 산정할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다는데 그 의의가 있다.

A Study on Application of HWAW Method to the Non-horizontally Layered Soil Structure (HWAW 기법의 비수평 출상구조지반 적용에 대한 고찰)

  • In HWAW method, experimental dispersion curve is obtained through time-frequency analysis, and inversion procedure is based on the forward modeling which considers full wavefield. Therefore, it enables us to use relatively short testing setup and has advantage for two dimensional subsurface imaging compared with another surface wave methods. Numerical study was performed to verify that the HWAW method can be applied to non-horizontally layerd soil structure. The experimental dispersion curves obtained from HWAW method agreed with the theoretical dispersion curves based on full wavefield. Experimental dispersion curves are mainly more affected by the region between two receivers than by the region from source to the first receiver. Fluctuation phenomena of dispersion curve can be reduced by adequate receiver spacing setup. From numerical study, it was thought that reliable Vs distribution map can be constructed by HWAW method and finally subsurface imaging was tried in the real field.

Characteristic and Analysis of Fatigue Crack for Curved Girder Bridge based on the Stress Range Histerisis (실동이력에 기초한 곡선거더교의 피로균열 특성 및 분석)

  • The web of a horizontally curved plate girder bridge is, in general, subject to not only longitudinal flexural in-plane stress but also out-of-plane bending stress. Therefore, the induced stresses in the fillet welded joints at the intersection of the web and flange plates in the curved plate girder bridge can be considerably high, and the welded joints of gusset plates connecting the main girder to the floor beams or sway bracings can be subject to much more severe situation than those in the ordinary straight plate girder bridge. In order to investigate the cause of fatigue crack occurred in a curved girder bridge that has been served in about 23 years, in this study, field load tests have been performed to obtain the stress characteristics at the welded joint under the real traffic flow. Using the test results, we have investigated the causes of the occurrence of various fatigue cracks and have estimated the fatigue lives for the cracks. In addition, the characteristics of structural behavior at welded joint of the curved girder bridge have been examined by comparing the FE analysis and the field test result.
