Removal Characteristics of Lithium Ions by Fixed-bed Column Packed with Strong-Acid Cation Exchange Resin (강산성 양이온 교환수지를 충전한 고정층에서 리튬이온의 제거특성)

  • The continuous experiments were carried out using fixed-bed column packed with strong-acid cation exchange resin for the removal of lithium ions from aqueous solution. The parameters such as bed height, flow rate and inlet concentration were investigated. Breakthrough time ($t_{0.05}$), saturation time ($t_{0.95}$), and total amount of lithium ion removed (mtotal) were obtained from the breakthrough curves. The results showed that $t_{0.05}$ and $t_{0.95}$ decreased with decreasing bed height, and decreased with increasing inlet concentration and flow rate. mtotal increased with increasing inlet concentration and bed height, but decreased with increasing flow rate. Thomas model and Yoon-Nelson model equations were applied to the experimental data, the results showed that the breakthrough data gave a good fit to Thomas model equation.

The Dependences of Magnetoresistance and Exchange Biasing on Annealing temperature in Top and Bottom Type Specular Spin Valves with Nano-oxide Layers (나노 옥사이드 층을 가진 스펙큘라 스핀밸브의 자기저항 특성 및 교환바이어스의 열처리 온도 의존성)

  • We investigated magnetoresistance(MR) and exchange bias properties by annealing in top and bosom type spin valves (SV) with nano-oxide layers (NOL). In top SVs with NOL, MR ratio of 9.2% is obtained after postdeposition annealing at 250$\^{C}$. In bottom SVs with NOL, MR ratio of 10.1 % is obtained after postdeposition annealing at 250$\^{C}$. Therefore, specular reflection of the NOL in bottom SVs is higher than that of the NOL in top SVs. Exchange biasing of bottom SVs with NOL is 28% higher than that of bottom SVs without NOL after annealing. This enhancement of exchange biasing is thought to be due to the reduced magnetic moment of the pinned layer with NOL and enhanced (111) FeMn texture.

  • Top synthetic spin valves wi th structure Ta/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/CoFe(Pl)/Ru/CoFe(P2)/FeMn/Ta on Si (100) substrate with SiO$_2$ of 1500 were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering system. We have changed only the thickness of the free layer and the thickness difference (Pl-P2) in the two ferromagnetic layers separated by Ru, and investigated the effect of magnetic film thickness on the GMR properties and the interlayer coupling field in a spin valve with a synthetic antiferromagnet. As thickness difference of pinned layer was decreased from +25 to -25 , MR ratio was decreased gradually. However, there was a dip zone indicating a big change of MR ratio around Pl = P2, which can be due to the large canting of pinned layers. The modified Neel model was suggested for the top synthetic spin valve to explain the interlayer coupling field according to the thickness change of ferromagnetic layers. The interlayer coupling field was decreased due to the magnetostatic coupling (orange peel coupling) as suggested by model. However, the interlayer coupling field was not explained at the dip zone by the modified Neel model. The deviation of modified Neel model at the dip zone could be due to the largely canting of the pinned layers as well, which depends on different thickness in synthetic antiferromagnetic structure.

Evaluation of Dose Variation according to Air Gap in Thermoplastic Immobilization Device in Carbon Ion (탄소입자 치료 시 열가소성 고정기구의 공기층에 따른 선량 변화 평가)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the dose variation according to thickness of the air gap between the patient's body surface and immobilization device in the treatment plan. Materials and Methods : Four conditions were created by adjusting the air gap thickness using 5 mm bolus, ranging from 0 mm to 3 mm bolus. Immobilization was placed on top in each case. And computed tomography was used to acquire images. The treatment plan that 430 cGy (Relative Biological Effectiveness,RBE) is irradiated 6 times and the dose of 2580 cGy (RBE) is delivered to 95% of Clinical Target Volume (CTV). The dose on CTV was evaluated by Full Width Half Maximum (FWHM) of the lateral dose profile and skin dose was evaluated by Dose Volume Histogram (DVH). Result: Results showed that the FWHM values of the lateral dose profile of CTV were 4.89, 4.86, 5.10, and 5.10 cm. The differences in average values at the on the four conditions were 3.25±1.7 cGy (RBE) among D95% and 1193.5±10.2 cGy (RBE) among D95% respectively. The average skin volume at 1% of the prescription dose was 83.22±4.8%, with no significant differences in both CTV and skin. Conclusion: When creating a solid-type immobilization device for carbon particle therapy, a slight air gap is recommended to ensure that it does not extend beyond the dose application range of the CTV.

고정화 $TiO_2$와 유동층 반응기를 이용한 Rhodamin B의 색도 제거

  • 1. 고정화 $TiO_2$의 경우도 분말을 이용한 것과 같이 최적 광촉매 투입량이 나타났으며, 최적 투입량은 33.8 g/L이었고, 분말 $TiO_2$를 이용한 경우보다 빠른 초기반응속도를 보였으며, 최종반응시간도 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 2. 수용액에서 빠른 초기 제거속도의 1차적인 기작은 고정화 $TiO_2$ 표면으로의 흡착 때문이었으며, 빠른 흡착으로 인해 수용액 중의 RhB 농도가 빠르게 감소하여 광 투과율이 증가하므로 전체 반옹속도가 빠른 것으로 사료되었다. 3. 고정화 $TiO_2$를 이용한 유동층 반응기의 경우 최적 공기 공급량은 의한 Rhodamine B의 초기 제거속도는 분말보다 빠르지만 전체적인 제거시간은 흡착된 Rhodamine B의 분해 때문에 분말 $TiO_2$보다 느린 것으로 나타났다.
