Evaluation of Failure Mechanism of Flexible CIGS Solar Cell Exposed to High Temperature and Humid Atmosphere (플렉서블 CIGS 태양전지의 고온고습 환경 고장 기구 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate electrical and structural degradation of flexible CIGS sollar cell exposed to high temperature and humid atmosphere. Method: Accelerated degradation was performed for various time under $85^{\circ}C/85%RH$ and then electrical and structural properties were analyzed by 4-point probe method, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Results: Sheet resistance of the top ITO layer increased with exposure time to the high temperature and humid atmosphere. Blunting of the protrusion morphology of ITO layer was observed for the degraded specimen, while no phase change was detected by XRD. Oxygen was detected at the edge area after 300 hours of exposure. Conclusion: Increase in electrical resistance of the degraded CIGS solar cell under high temperature and humid environment was attribute to the oxygen or water absorption.

  • 항로표지 사용하는 육지초인용 전구식 대형 등명기의 메탈할라이드 램프는 수명이 1,000시간으로 LED 광원과 비교하여 매우 짧은 수명으로 유지관리에 어려움이 발생하고 있으며 전구식 회전형 대형 등명기는 고압방전등 및 AC 모터를 사용하고 있어 고장 발생 빈도가 높고 긴급수리에 장시간이 소용되어 기능 유지가 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 회전형 대형등명기의 렌즈를 사용하고 자동절환이 가능한 광원부 기구 개선 및 광원을 고출력 LED로 대체하고 기존 회전형 대형등명기의 렌즈에 적합한 고효율 LED 반사판을 설계·제작하여 광학특성을 측정하고 분석하였다. 또한 광학특성에 적합한 연안등대에 시범설치를 통하여 성능 검증 및 운영 개선을 통한 실용화 연구를 수행하였다.

  • 자율운항선박 도입에 관한 논의가 국제해사기구에서 본격적으로 시작됨에 따라 자율운항선박 관련 기술개발이 세계적으로 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나, 통신, 보안, 고장진단, 유지보수 등의 기술개발이 아직 미흡하여, 자율운항선박의 상용화까지는 많은 시간이 소요될 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 기술들은 문제가 발생할 경우 선박에 막대한 피해를 발생시킬 수 있으며, 특히, 연안을 항해하는 선박보다는 대양을 항해하는 선박에 더 치명적이기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 대양항해 시 자율운항선박에 발생할 수 있는 문제들을 극복하기 위한 방안으로 여러 척의 선박을 하나의 그룹으로 묶어 항해하는 그룹항법시스템을 제안한다. 하나의 그룹은 한 척의 유인선박인 리더선박과 여러 척의 무인선박인 추종선박으로 구성되어 있으며, 항해하는 동안 일직선 형태를 유지한다. 리더선박은 출발지에서 목적지까지 미리 설정된 변침점을 따라 항해하며, 추종선박은 리더선박의 경로를 추종하여 항해한다. 선박의 침로를 제어하기 위한 타각 제어기는 선박에서 주로 사용되는 PD 제어기를 구현하여 사용하였다. 그룹항법시스템을 검증하기 위해 선박해양플랜트연구소에서 공개한 KVLCC2의 축소 모형인 L-7 모델을 사용하여 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다.

  • Screw-failure accidents in small ships frequently occur in coastal waters. In particular, vessels' propulsion systems are frequently coiled due to objects such as fish-nets and ropes that float on the sea. The failure of the ship's propulsion system can cause primary accidents such as ship operation delays and drifting due to loss of power; furthermore, the possibility of secondary accidents such as those involving operators in the underwater removal of rope stuck in a propeller. Ships that do not have the proper tools to solve these problems must be either lifted onto land to be repaired or divers must dive directly under the ship to solve the problem. Accordingly, some small vessels have been equipped with rope-cutter devices on the propeller shaft to prevent ship propeller system accidents in recent years; however, they are not being applied efficiently due to the cost and time of installation. To solve these problems, this study develops an underwater rope-cutter device and controller for the removal of propeller and shaft foreign material in small vessels. This device has simple structures that use the principle of a saw. Meteor gears and crank pins were used for the straight-line rotation of saw blades of the underwater rope-cutters to allow for long strokes. Furthermore, the underwater rope-cutting machines can be operated by being connected to the ship battery. The user, a non-professional, can ensure convenience and stability by applying reverse current prevention and a speed control circuit so that it can be used more conveniently and safely.

  • CrMo alloy steel was nitrided using two types of processing methods, ion-nitriding processing and nitrocarburizing. Both processes were conducted for a duration of 30 min. To compare the surface hardness of the alloys created by the different processes, microhardness tests were conducted, and fatigue tests of each material were performed by a cantilever rotary bending fatigue test machine (Yamamoto, YRB 200) in the very high cycle regime ($N>10^7cycle$). Fractography of the fractured surfaces was conducted by scanning electron microscopy - to observe the fracture mechanisms of very high cycle fatigue and the effect of the nitriding process on the fatigue characteristics.

  • In order to purify the waste water containing natural fatty oil, hydroxy radical and/or ozone are used to remove the fatty oil dispersed in the waste water. The fatty oil is decomposed by oxidation reaction through hydroxy radical and ozone, and eliminated as a function of first order reaction. It is clearly confirmed that the fatty oil in waste water can be effectively removed much more in the use of both hydroxy radical and ozone than only hydroxy radical as an oxydant. In addition, the decomposition chemical reaction mechanism of the fatty oil by hydroxy radical and ozone is proposed.

  • The constant amplitude loading and 100% single overloading fatigue studies of domestic high tensile 7075-T73 aluminum alloy were performed to exmine the effect of specimen thickness and its mechanisms on fatigue crack growth behavior. The stage II fatigue crack growth rates tend to increase with decreasing specimen thickness under constant amplitude loading condition and this has relation with stress intensity factors and plastic zone size. The amount of retardation by an overload increased with decreasing specimen thickness when the crack depth and baseline stress intensity factors were constant. The crack depth is one of major factors which affect retardation phenomena by an overload and the amount of retardation increase with decreasing the crack depth. Its main mechanisms are crack closure and decreasing of K at the crack tip by branching and deflection of crack. And they are affected by near surface more severely than central portion of specimen.

A study on AC over-current breaker using thyristor (Thyristor를 이용한 교류과전류 차단에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the mechanisms which breaks A.C. over-current protection in low voltage load. For the high speed over-current protection, it consists of thyristor switching circuit by forced commutation, IC logic gate controlled circuit and over-current detector with reed switch. Under various duty conditions, breacker was carried out several experiments and discussions. The results are as follows; (1) over-current cut off is possible within a quarter cycle (4ms at 60Hz) and clear is at least ten times faster than its electromechanical equivalent. (2) as the forced commutation thyristor circuit breaker has capability of high speed break, equivalent surgy current capacity of switching thyristor is increased more than twenty times of its rated current. (3) breaker using solid state dose not produce any harmful arc during switching period. Therefore the breaker above described may be considered an effective over-current protector for soli state power devices in industrial applications.

  • IMO(International Maritime Organization) is existed the movement for revising ISM Code so that the maintenance history and the trouble information given trading in a ship can be transferred. An empirical analysis was made on the influence that will have upon shipping industry through surveying on the recognition on ISM Code revision in employees of the relevant field and on the expected problems given being amended ISM Code as the above. In conclusion, the positive effect is judged to be more in the aspect of ship safety, which is the aim of ISM Code, rather than the negative effect, which may take place given being revised ISM Code. In other words, the clean market can be formed through this because fairness is maintained on both sides given trading in a ship by which opening the maintenance record and the trouble history is applied equally to a buyer and a seller. Ships can be reduced a loss of time and cost in preventing similar problems and seeking solution that may appear in important equipments, through this maintenance record. Also, based on these materials, it comes to be available for analyzing a risk of ship and preventing and managing a risk, thereby being increased ability of maintenance and repair in a ship, resulting in being judged to likely contributing to ship safety and environmental-pollution prevention.
