도서관 심벌(Symbol)은 시각적으로 도서관의 존재 및 우수성을 전달하는데 매우 효과가 높은 것으로, 도서관 마케팅 및 PR을 촉진시키기 위한 중요한 기법중의 하나이다. 따라서 본 연구는 국내외 도서관 심벌에 대한 제작경위와 의미 등에 관하여 살펴봄으로써 도서관 심벌에 대한 이해를 도모하고, 궁극적로 도서관 마케팅 및 PR을 촉진시키기 위해 도서관 심벌이 많이 활동되도록 하고자 하는 것이다. 조사된 29개국 35개 국립도서관 및 협회의 46개 심벌을 분석한 결과 도서관을 나타내는데 책이 가장 많이 사용되었으며, 다음으로는 도서관 건물, 도서관 명칭, 고유문화, 사람 등 순으로 나타났다. 그리고 국제도서관협회연맹(IFLA)의 공식 심벌과 15개의 대회(Conference) 심벌을 분석한 결과 매년마다의 대회를 나타내는데 IFLA의 공식 심벌이 공통적으로 사용되면서, 개최지의 고유문화가 가장 많이 사용된 것으로 나타났다. 즉 국립도서관 및 협회의 심벌은 특정 도서관을 나타내기 위해 해당 도서관 건물, 책 등을 사용하였으며, IFLA 대회의 심벌은 고유문화, 상징적 건축물 등을 사용하여 IFLA 대회가 어느 나라(지역)에서 개최된다는 것을 나타내기 위해 주력한 것으로 분석되었다.

에드워드 사이드는 다문화주의를 통한 동서의 공존을 주창한다. 제국의 권력과 지배에 의해 주변문화로 밀려났던 고유문화들의 적당한 위치를 되찾자는 의미이다. 문화란 민족과 국가간의 이데올로기가 충돌하는 전장이 될 수도 있지만 동시에 상호이해 가능한 공존의 영역이 될 수도 있음을 이야기한다.

문화부가 이 달의 문화인물로 선정한 우현 고유섭은 미학을 바탕으로 미술사를 연구한 우리나라 최초의 미술사가이다. 그는 1905년에 태어나 1944년 작고할 때까지 일제강점기라는 불운의 근대사를 살며 그 길지 않은 생애를 한국미술사연구에 바침으로써 우리나라 미술사학의 초입에 가장 높은 봉우리로 우뚝 서있다.

우리나라는 오랫동안 인문사회적인 가치가 절대적이고 과학기술적인 가치가 천시되는 문화를 형성하였으므로 비합리적인 전통문화를 개혁하려면 고유문화를 경시하는 것으로 오해를 받곤 하였다. 우리사회의 이런 비합리성과 비능률성을 없애려면 '전국민의 과학화 운동'이 가장 효과적이라고 생각하였다.

This study analyzes the social and cultural development process of tourism development in Banjar Nyuh-Kuning, a rural village in Bali, and the cultural practices of residential tourist in this area. The role of Banjar in the development of cultural tourism, especially the process of re-recognition of traditional discourse, became the main impetus for the prosperity of the village. For this purpose, the demands of residential tourists in the village and the role of local residents in their response is discussed. Residential tourist and village community experience the process of acculturation under one space, which provides an opportunity for each group to newly recognize tradition. In the end, the residential tourist in the villages provide an opportunity to reexamine tourism practices the stemmed from the concept of existing objectivism and constructivism authenticity. The perception of the authenticity of residential tourists a part of the ontological awareness resulting from everyday satisfactions and security in the course of experiencing tourism. The process of the development of Nyuh-Kuning village as a tourist attraction may be understood from the viewpoint of as a type of existential authenticity that the residential tourists acquire as they practice village traditions.

The purpose of the study is to examine the factors that influence on the Koreans' intergenerational communication. A survey was conducted with university students in their 20s, and the impacts of filial piety and indigenous cultural factors(confucianism and Chemyon) on intergenerational communication styles and intergeneral communication satisfaction were tested. Results of hierarchical regression analyses showed that politeness and confucianism had positive influence on intergenerational communication while deference and Chmyon had negative influence on intergenerational communication. The indigenous cultural variables increased total R2 significantly, proving the crucial impact of confucianism and Chemyon on the Koreans' intergenerational communication. Finally, male students perceived higher level of communicative satisfaction than female students in the intergenerational communication context.
