  • In this study, the physical and mechanical characteristics of Bottom-ash exhausted from each of steam power plant was considered. The comparative objects were Bottom-ash in which a lot of powder contained and that in which less than that relatively contained. The difference in quantity of powder showed different effect on the character of flow. This study was undertaken on the use of Bottom-ash as a fine aggregate, and showed the optimum mixing and the character of flow according to each rate. And this study showed the quantity of water and binder added in different Bottom-ash was differently used.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the strength of high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result, the flexural and tensile strengths of the high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to increase with increasing polymer-cement ratio, and tend to decrease with increasing shrinkage-reducing agent content, regardless of the antifoamer content. However, the compressive strength of the high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.

As a result, the setting time of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to delayed with increasing polymer-cement ratio, regardless of the antifoamer content. The water absorption and chloride ion penetration depth of the high-fluidity polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content. The water absorption and chloride ion penetration improvement is attributed to the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the incorporation of redispersible polymer powder.

  • A study was conducted on UHPC production using the silicone mold method. UHPC (Ultra-High-Performance Concrete) has the advantage of being able to shape the product in a free-form shape on concrete, but when mass-producing products in one design, such as electronic products, rather than one-time products such as buildings and decorations Demolition is difficult with wood and mold. This study uses silicone molds, UHPC mix to ensure fluidity, self-integrating performance and mechanical performance Prototyping was done proportionally.

  • Recently, as concrete structure becomes high rise and large scaled tendency, demands for high performance concrete such as high strength, high fluidity and high durability has been increased. Even though high performance concrete performs high strength, workability and durability, compared to with those of normal concrete, it is more brittle than normal concrete. Accordingly, this paper is intended to improve toughness and compressive strength through investigating the mechanical properties of the high performance concrete confined with metal lath, glass fiber and carbon fiber laterally in the case of 30% and 40% of W/B. According to the results, the compressive strength increases in order of metal lath, carbon fiber and glass fiber. Considering strain-stress curve with the kinds of material for lateral confinement, while brittleness failure occurs in plain concrete just after maximum load, it is improved in some degree in confined concrete due to increase of the strain by increase of toughness. Elastic modulus increases slightly in case of confined concrete, like the compressing strength.

  • This study is focused on applying heavyweight concrete to ballast used to have stability of a ship. Generally, heavyweight concrete is made from a high density aggregate like magnetite or limonite. However, these materials are hard to obtain them from relevant companies and so expensive. Therefore, this study plans to product heavyweight ballast concrete which is easy to obtain by recycled iron slag. Heavyweight ballast concrete isn't required to meet some compressive strength in use, but it is required to have high flowable and 2.7t/m3 of bulk density to fill the ballast tank densely. The designed field mix proportion of concrete based on the results of pre-experiment shows it can control the temperature crack and has superior chloride corrosion resistance after conducting chloride corrosion experiment. Also, it is prefer that before airtightness voltile corrosion inhibiter(VCI) is added in airtight space of shipyard.

  • Precise estimation f a structure's dynamic characteristics is indispensable for ensuring stable dynamic response during life time especially for the structures which can experience resonance such as railway bridges. Especially, concrete track can change the modal properties of the railway bridge, through the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects, generally only the mass effect is considered in dynamic analysis of the railway bridge. In this paper, static and dynamic behaviors of railway bridge with concrete track were investigated through experimental study. Also, numerical analysis was performed about considering only mass of concrete track and together with stiffness and mass of concrete track. These were compared with experiment value. Numerical analysis value considering together with stiffness and mass of concrete track was similar experiment value. Therefore, when dynamic analysis of railway bridge with concrete track is performed, the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects for concrete track is considered.

  • The urban railway sleeper floating track(STEDEF) is a structure that structurally separates the sleepers and the concrete bed using sleeper boots and resilience pads to reduce vibration transmitted to the concrete bed. Recently, the resilience pads of sleeper floating tracks that have been in use for more than 20 years are deteriorating. Accordingly, in order to evaluate the performance of the resilience pad, a static spring stiffness test is being performed after extracting the resilience pad. This evaluation technique is performed after replacing the resilience pad in use. However, the track natural frequency can change depending on the resilience pad spring stiffness and the uplift and subsidence of the concrete bed. In this study, modal testing technique was used to evaluate the track natural frequency. For this purpose, the sleeper boots material, resilience pad spring stiffness, and track natural frequency according to concrete bed uplift and subsidence were measured using modal tests at a laboratory scale. It was analyzed that the natural frequency of the sleeper floating track was directly affected by changes in the spring stiffness of the resilience pad. In addition, the change in natural frequency due to the uplift and subsidence of the concrete bed was also found to be large. Therefore, it is believed that the modal test technique presented in this study can be used to evaluate the resilience pad deterioration and voided sleepers.
