A Cylindrical Spindle Displacement Sensor and its Application on High Speed Milling Machine (원통형 주축 변위 센서를 이용한 고속 밀링 가공 상태 감시)

  • A new cutting force estimating approach and machining state monitoring examples are presented which uses a cylindrical displacement sensor built into the spindle. To identify the tool-spindle system dynamics with frequency up to 2 kHz, a home-built electro-magnetic exciter is used. The result is used to build an algorithm to extract the dynamic cutting force signal from the spindle error motion; because the built-in spindle sensor signal contains both spindle-tool dynamics and tool-workpiece interactions. This sensor is very sensitive and can measure broadband signal without affecting the system dynamics. The main characteristic is that it is designed so that the measurement is irrelevant to the geometric errors by covering the entire circumferential area between the target and sensor. It is also very simple to be installed. Usually the spindle front cover part is copied and replaced with a new one with this sensor added. It gives valuable information about the operating condition of the spindle at any time. It can be used to monitor cutting force and chatter vibration, to predict roughness and to compensate the form error by overriding spindle speed or feed rate. This approach is particularly useful in monitoring a high speed machining process.

  • The development of high-speed spindle have been studied extensively for micro machining in advanced industrial countries. The research of miniaturized high-speed air spindle is important part which needs for the micro machining process of high quality. So, This study was to carry out results about design characteristics of miniaturized high-speed air spindle. We had designed 4type turbines and shaft. They were simulated in use the computer simulation programs. We made them as products. They measured RPM (revolutions per minute). As a result of experiments, there was a contrast among 4type Turbines. it reached 384,000rpm in 4.5bar of air pressure. And, We tried to compare the results of measurement whit the results of computer simulation.

  • 현대는 급속히 발전하는 공업을 바탕으로 생산품의 고기능화, 고정도화, 고속화를 추구하고있다. 그중에서도 고정도화에 대항 요구는 초정밀 가공 분야의 경우 2000년대 초에는 수 nm 수준까지 도달할 것으로 예측된다. 현재 각 선진국에서는, 초정밀도의 형상 정밀도를 요구하는 대형 광학 부품들의 가공에대한 연구가 진행중이며, 이와 같은 연구에서 요구되는 가공 정밀도가 조만간 가공기의 강성한계에 도달할 것이다. 이와함께 초정밀 가공에 있어서, 이송 테이블의 운동오차는 심각한 문제로 대두되고 있으므로, 테이블의 운동오차의측정 및 실시간 보상에 대한 연구의 의미가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 본 연 구는 기계 이송 테이블의 기하학적 운동오차의 실시간보상(real-time correction)에 관한 것이다.

  • Recently, environmental pollution has become a significant problem in industry and many researchers have investigated in order to preserve the environment. Environmentally conscious machining and technology have more important position in machining process, because cutting fluid has bad influence on the environment in milling process. This research is the experimental study on high speed machining of aluminum alloys through environmentally conscious machining. In this study, the surface roughness and chip appearance was investigated in the machining of aluminum alloys by dry machining, using cutting fluid and oil mist.

  • 근래에 들어, 금형생산 시간의 단축과 고정밀도의 제품을 생산하기 위해 실가공전의 설계단계에서 금형 데이터를 수치적으로 검증할 필요가 높아지고 있다. 기존의 저가형 CAM시스템에서 사용된 경로표시법으 로는 이러한 검증이 불가능하기 때문에 새로운 방법의 도입이 필요하며 모의가공 형상의 표현에서도 비매 개변수형 곡면을 이영하는 방법이 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 3축 금형가곡에 사용되는 볼앤드밀, 평 엔드밀 공구에 대해 Z-map을 기반으로 절삭부위를 비매개변수형 곡면으로 모델링하여 모의가공을 수행하 고자 한다. 또한, 새로운 backeting영역지정 방법을 사용하여 모의가공의 효율을 높였다.
